I gave contraceptive pill to my girl friend last month and her periods started 2 days before her date. This month her date was 22 dec. And we had sex on 18 dec with any precaution she skipped her periods on 22 and we checked through prega kit after 4 days of her date test was negative thn we checked it again on 6 day and the test was negative like previous one. It's been 8 days she skipped periods and today she realized that it's just a spotting not proper periods is what should I do. Is there any possibilities of getting pregnant?

PMS - How To Get Rid Of It?

PMS - How To Get Rid Of It?

What is premenstrual syndrome (PMS)? In layman's language, it is that time of the month you don't really want to unnecessarily bother a woman or you might have to face the brunt of an emotional outburst. In medical terms, it is a combination of emotional, physical, psychological changes that occur in a woman after ovulation and culminates with the ending of her menstrual flow. The most common mood-related symptoms are irritability, depression, crying, oversensitivity, and mood swings. The most common physical symptoms are fatigue, bloating, breast tenderness, acne, and appetite changes with food cravings. In severe cases, anger, irritability, anxiety and tension leads to loss of the functioning ability of a woman. If you've been there or are suffering, you are not alone. There are scores of women around the world who experience these symptoms.

Here are ways to minimize and get rid of PMS.

1.        Control PMS with diet changes: Certain food types in general are not a healthy choice but can cause more harm than good during PMS. Depending on what factor affects you the most, cut down on these types of food.
a.        Salt: Excess salt can lead to bloating.
b.        Caffeine: Can lead to anxiety, sleeplessness and irritability
c.        Alcohol: The concoction for depression
d.        Sugar: Can cause mood swings
As always, eating more fruits veggies and grains at the right time can keep you healthy and prepared for those dreaded days.

2. Exercise: Exercise is a mood lifter. It gets you into shape, adds to your stamina and slowly but steadily boosts your confidence to become slimmer, stronger, and fitter. The trick is to pick up on an exercise you love. Hit the road and run free with your thoughts or turn on the music and dance with aerobics.

3.  Stock up on the vitamins: Hormonal imbalances are the primary cause behind PMS. Though it is not proven, stocking up on some essential vitamins like calcium, potassium and minerals can give you more strength to fight the symptoms.
4. Herbal remedies: They've been around for hundreds of years and you are likely to have an aunt or grandma swear by one of these cures. From ginger to primrose oil, these cures can balance your hormonal activity in a natural way. You will need to experiment to see what really suits your need.

5. Take a break: No matter what physical or emotional manifestation you suffer, it can double up because of stress and lack of sleep. Knowing your 'off' days, its best you find a way to take some time off for yourself at a spa or try meditation and deep breathing. Do what you love to do to keep your mind calm and clear. Listen to music, take a walk with your dog or simply read a good book.

To start with, change your diet, take a few supplements and herbs, and start exercising, and you should see the change in the first few cycles itself.

I think it should not be a matter of choice of type of delivery in some cases only elective cesarean is planned otherwise during labour if some indication your gynaec will decide whether surgery reqd otherwise normal delivery is best.

I would advice you to go for insemination, as you have a retroverted uterus. This will help in proper depositon of semen, which does not happen in normal sex in cases of retroverted uterus. Please continue and I am sure you will concieve. If you fail to do so in 3 months, I would suggest further investigations.

Can I travel for small duration during pregnancy? When can I have sex during pregnancy?

Can I travel for small duration during pregnancy? When can I have sex during pregnancy?
All things are depending on your pregnancy carrying duration. Initially 3.5 to 4 the month of pregnancy, you should avoid the travel and jurky movements. Because baby hasn't strong support by that period, and chances of miscourage are more. You can go for intercourse for initial three and half months. Onwards you should avoid it till the delivery taking place.

Struggling To Get Pregnant - Is It Time To Consult A Fertility Doctor?

The news of pregnancy can be one of the best news in a couple’s lifetime. However, where this news does not arrive, it can turn very stressful. Whatever the reasons, if a couple has been trying to have a baby and are not able to, it can be very strenuous. However, statistics reveal that most couples take four to six months to conceive. Some couples even take up to two years.

Lifestyles are changing and there are a lot of factors, which determine the ability of a couple to conceive. There could be issues with either of the couple, and sometimes it might not even be an actual issue, but only psychological barriers hampering the health of the relationship.

Some common conditions that can contribute to the couple not conceiving include endometriosis, ovarian issues, polycystic ovaries, hormonal imbalances, medical illnesses, etc. A few common remedies can be tried first, before reaching out for professional help.

  1. Using lubricants without spermicide topical agents may be used, but some of them could contain chemicals, which are spermicides and reduce the sperm count. This needs to be ruled out before investigating the cause for infertility.
  2. Vitamin B6 helps in the luteal phase, which is from the time of ovulation to menstruation. Zinc also plays a vital role in pregnancy and conception, and so it is advisable to take these supplements when trying to get pregnant.
  3. Weight management, quit smoking, improved hydration, general detoxification, dietary changes, adequate hours of sleep are some changes that can immensely benefit.
  4. An ovulation predictor kit and trying to conceive around that time also increases chances of conception.
  5. For a woman who is 35 years or younger, conception should happen in about four to six months’ time. If not, it is time to see a doctor to see what is preventing pregnancy.

Some of the other conditions, which would require a visit to the doctor are as follows:

  1. Consumption of regular asthma medications
  2. Diabetic patients
  3. Epilepsy patients
  4. Chronic smoker
  5. Underweight or overweight women
  6. Diagnosed endometriosis
  7. History of polycystic ovaries
  8. Fibroids
  9. History of irregular periods or other menstrual disorders
  10. History of thyroid disease, especially hypothyroidism, which is one of the main contributing reasons for infertility. Quite often, treating the thyroid levels can lead to pregnancy
  11. History of sexually transmitted disease like chlamydia
  12. History of sexual hormonal imbalance
  13. History of prolonged use of birth control pills

If there is no underlying medical issue, it will happen, don’t be anxious.
