Dear lybrate user we are happy to hear your problem that heel bone pain is there? practically by common doctors will. Advise you to take some hot and cold fomenting along with some pain killer's. Lastly a soft shoes or chappal. For couple of days to weeks. If no response seen either will refer to some one or do surgical excision if calcaneal spurs not amenable to conservative treatment. Spine is blocked to transmit Senses through nerve cells by necrosing it which is harmful. Yes, pain would not be felt, come what may!

Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day.

Take shool gaj kesari ras twice a day..take gokshuradi guggul & punarnavadi mandoor 1-1 tab twice a day...pranacharya U through capsule and syrup twice a day...drink lots of water....avoid spinach...tea and coffee..tomato...lady finger etc...

Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - To maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - If pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - Physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - Adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - Ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - Analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - Avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. I am having pain in my right hand elbow joint since last one month. Ortho says it is called tennis elbow with minor increase in uric acid. Even after taking medicines for tem days no improvement. But I observed that after doing walk & light exercise with hand/shoulder movement the pain has receeded. Should I continue doing exercise or should go for medication. Kindly adivse.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am dr akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Tennis elbow is chronic inflammation around lateral epicondyle region of elbow. I advise my patients to take: 1) intensive ice packs for local application 2) intensive physical therapy under supervision of a physiotherapist 3) anti-inflammatory as per your body' s suitability 4) activity modification do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance or you do not get relief, then I will suggest you some other measures. Get an mri of your knee done to rule out any meniscal or ligament injury. Consult with a good orthopaedic surgeon. Meanwhile take painkillers and anti inflammatory drugs for relief. Also apply a kneelet, to reduce the movement and risk of further damage.

I have pain in lower left side of my stomach. When sleeping if I have to turn from one side to another it is causing me pain. When I get up from bed I have pain. Once I get up I will be bent for 2 miniuts. Then every thing will be alright. When I walk I feel little heavy on left lower side of my stomach. I have even back pain. I know pain is not because of back while turning and getting up. What it could be? please give reply.

Hello, thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. You will have to elaborate your problem as to a detailed discussion of your back pain which means duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any leg pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias ( electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take BioD3 Max 1 tab dailyx10 Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x5days Do back(spine)/shoulder/knee exercises Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take Do not ignore it. Exercises for cervicogenic headache hi dear, I hope you will fitt and fine The following exercises are commonly prescribed to patients with this condition. You should discuss the suitability of these exercises with your physiotherapist prior to beginning them. Generally, they should be performed 2 – 5 times daily and only provided they do not cause or increase symptoms. Your physiotherapist can advise when it is appropriate to begin the initial exercises and eventually progress to the intermediate and advanced exercises. As a general rule, addition of exercises or progression to more advanced exercises should take place provided there is no increase in symptoms. ________________________________________ Initial Exercises Chin Tucks Begin this exercise by sitting or standing tall with your back and neck straight, shoulders should be back slightly. Tuck your chin in as far as you can go without pain and provided you feel no more than a mild to moderate stretch (figure 4). Keep your eyes and nose facing forwards during the movement. Hold for 2 seconds and repeat 10 times provided there is no increase in symptoms. Repeat 3 – 5 times daily Shoulder Blade Squeezes Begin this exercise by sitting or standing tall with your back straight. Squeeze your shoulder blades together as hard and far as possible pain-free (figure 5). Hold for 5 seconds and repeat 10 times provided there is no increase in symptoms. Repeat 3 – 5 times daily. (N. B In some cases it may be beneficial to perform this exercise every 1 or 2 hours provided the exercise does not cause or increase symptoms) Some of the most commonly recommended products by physiotherapists to hasten healing and speed recovery in patients with this condition include: 1.Postural Supports To enjoy a long and healthy life 2.Therapeutic Pillows 3.Ice Packs and Heat Packs 4.Lumbar Rolls (for sitting) 5.Sports Tape (for postural taping) 6.McKenzie Treat Your Own Neck Book 7.Foam Rollers 8.Massage Balls (for self massage) 9.TENS Machines (for pain relief) Lower back pain you can do it this exercise, 1 Lying on your back, bend your right knee into your chest and place a strap or rolled-up towel around the ball of your foot. Straighten your leg toward the ceiling. Press out through both heels. If the lower back feels strained, bend the left knee and place the foot on the ground. Hold for 3-5 minutes and then switch to the left let for 3-5 minutes. 2….Lying on your back, bend your knees into your chest and bring your arms out at a T. As you exhale lower your knees to ground on the right. Keep both shoulders pressing down firmly. If the left shoulder lifts, lower your knees further away from the right arm. Hold for 1-2 minutes each side I hope you will fit and fine.
