In a prehypertensive individual, the following things have to be taken care of: 1) Tobacco: While the major effects of tobacco are in the development of atherosclerotic heart disease, its role in the management of hypertension cannot be forgotten. The pressure effect of tobacco is so strong that the blood pressure comes down immediately after stoppage of smoking. Tobacco is one of the agents that induce clustering of risk factors. 2) Body weight: Lowering of excess body weight can lower blood pressure. In one of the studies, it was found that decrease of 1 kg of body weight is associated with an average fall of 1.6 mmHg. Indeed, in many instances, it would be possible to discontinue medications after effective weight control. 3) Dietary Sodium: Restriction of dietary sodium is one of the most useful methods of controlling hypertension. This fact should be emphasized, because of the increasing use of fast foods, which have high salt content. It is admitted that it cannot be achieved easily. Norman Kaplan, a renowned cardiologist, gives the following practical suggestions. Do not add salt during cooking or at the table. Sodium consumption should be less than 1500 mg per day, an average individual consumes 8 to 10 times more sodium than required. If salt is desired, add half sodium and half potassium chloride preparations. Avoid fast foods. Be careful about the sodium content of some medications and specifically read the labels indicating sodium content in your food. 4) Alcohol: Alcohol consumption of more than 30 mL of ethanol is found to increase blood pressure. Hence, moderation is recommended. One of the major hazards of drinking is the usual associated consumption of high salt savories, which is an unseen source of salt. Instead, use less salted food. 5) Exercise: Regular physical exercise has been found to induce reduction in blood pressure. Strenuous exercise should be done 45 minutes a day for at least six days a week.

I had abortion 3 years back. I did a home abortion with an MTP kit. I did not bleed for more than 5 days then I guess and we did not get an ultrasound done. Is there any chance I could have retained any products then and may be carrying it now! I get regular periods now but I am having vaginal discharge which is foul smelling and my lower abd pains very mildly.

No... After 3 years it is not possible... It should have been expelled with subsequent menses... The vaginal discharge now is for another infection or something else... Only with proper examination we can know.

You have to go with scaling and rootplaning procedure. You might be pyrrohoea problem starts. Brush twice daily along with use mouthwash regularly. Also clean your tongue with tongue cleaner because tongue also harbour more debris on it so it starts smelling.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Hi, I been diagnosed diabetes last week. I am 26 now. My bs is 340 and H1bc is 11 when I was diagnosed. As of now I am with insulin therapy. Doctor is not sure with the type. My c- peptide values are 0.8 fasting and 1.2 PP. How long I need to be in insulin? Under which type I fall? Type 1 or type 2? I am little worried about this and I am at confused state. My parents are seeing a bride for me if so will I open this matter to bride family?

I think one should not hide such things from would be partner. You must be having some special positive qualities in your personality. In type one diabetes insulin production does not stop suddenly it takes sometime. Please follow advice of your doctor and adjust dose of insulin according to blood sugar levels with the help of your doctor.

Hi. I am 28 years male and having some serious irregular bowl issue. My stool doesn't get cleared in the first attempt once I dress up to go to office again I need to go to toilet. Then I go to office and have my breakfast, sometimes even after breakfast also I need to go toilet if I delay having the breakfast little late. I feel no urge to eat in the very morning. I normally have my dinner by 10.30 and breakfast by 10 Am. I cannot have any kind of spicy food, no tea, no oily food this all creates my stomach full of disturbance. After having milk tea I need to go to toilet so I avoid maximum time. Moreover if I need to go out even 500 meters also just after thinking that I feel to go to toilet. I need to clear my bowl before going out. In a day maximum time I go to toilet 3 to 4 times which is really troubling. I am afraid of going out. Please help me how to cure this toilet issue. One year back I go one time to bathroom and it clears everything. I had a perfect bowl movement but now its in dream only.

Change in life style is the best remedy and treatment for most of the ailments prevailing today. Ail the activities of the day need to be done regularly and perfectly. There should be regular exercise with good intake of fluids. Regular intake of fruits and fruit juices is really helpful. Avoid prolonged sitting for hours. Avoid tensions. Before sleep food has to be taken atleast 1-2 hrs before. Some medications and further suggestions can be made on personal consultation.

In Summer, underwear usually gets wet due to sweat and there are higher chances that you may have an infection there. May be swelling internal or external give time. Use lubricated condome give proper time to foreplay. Avoid forceful entry.
