Ayurveda and Knee Pain

Ayurveda is a very old system of medicine, which originated in India. Using herbs found in nature to cure various illnesses, knee pain can also be permanently cured with this method indigenous to India. It reduces knee pain caused by various illnesses including arthritis, inflammation of the cartilage and wearing of the patella among others.

Here are some common Ayurvedic remedies, which help reduce knee pain:

  1. Alfalfa: Alfalfa is medically known as Medicago Sativa. Alfalfa is excellent for making sure that your joint pain reduces, when taken in liquid form four times a day.
  2. Ashwagandha: Ashwagandha is medically known as Withania Somnifera. In the West, Ashwagandha is popularly known as Winter Cherry. Also, it has a lot of therapeutic properties, which include reducing joint pains.
  3. Banyan: The Banyan tree's medical name is Ficus Benghalensis. It has a sap very similar to the form of rubber known as latex is derived from the Banyan tree. The Banyan tree's sap is externally applied over the joints and the pain usually disappears after a few regular applications.
  4. Bishop's weed: The medical name for Bishop's weed is Trachyspermum Ammi. The oil extracted from this herb is usually applied to the knees to reduce the intensity of such knee pains.
  5. Celery: The medical name for celery is Apium Graveolens. Celery is not only an effective treatment for rheumatoid arthritis and associated pains in the knees, but it is also helpful in treating gout. It is usually agreed upon that this particular treatment is usually long lasting because of its alkaline nature.
  6. Dandelion: Dandelion's biological name is Taraxacum Officinale. It is rich in magnesium and is crucial for the correct mineralization of the bones. This mineralization allows the bones to become stronger and also prevents knee pain.
  7. Garlic: The medical name for garlic is allium sativum. Five to six cloves eaten everyday has proved to reduce knee pains.
  8. Ginger: Ginger is biologically called Zingiber Officinale. These can be easily included in your diet and go a long way in curbing knee pain.

Hello lybrate-user, the periods for any woman can range between 2 days to 8 days. The number of days of bleeding depends on many factors. With increasing age also sometimes the bleeding quantity may reduce. So do not worry. 2--3 days is fine.

Virginity is nothing but a septum in vagina which gets torn off after first sex. But the septum can get torn by exercise, sports, gymnastics etc. So loss of virginity doesnot mean anything. But to avoid guilt, it's better to share it with would be husband. It's for him to be mature and understand.

Go for medittion to reduce her stress and to nourish her cells, tissues & vaginal area to ease her problem by setting right d harmonal changes. I am not interested in having children. What alternatives to hysterectomy are available?

I am not interested in having children. What alternatives to hysterectomy are available?
That's a serious decision at this age. And hysterectomy just to avoid pregnancy is far too severe a solution. If you can afford ₹ 5000, best is a Mirena intrauterine device. It will give good contraceptive benefit and other positive health effects for the next 5 years. Effects are reversible on removal at any time. Copper T will cost lesser than ₹ 1000 but last 3 years, with mild side effects. After 5 years if you are still convinced not to conceive at all, go for laparoscopic Fallope ring application. This will block the tubes and cause permanent (but not absolute) sterilisation without loss of hormonal health. That's all.

This postpartum symptom is the heavy flow of blood and mucus, called lochia, that starts after delivery and continues for up to ten days. Light bleeding and spotting  can continue until four to six weeks after delivery. WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT: 1) For the first six weeks, use only pads, even if you need pads as thick as your baby's diapers. 2) Don't use tampons, which can introduce bacteria into your still-recovering uterus and genital tract.Choose clothes (particularly panties) that you don't care too much about. 3)Wearing your favorites immediately after delivery (even if you could fit into them) might not be such a good idea, since stains from spotting after pregnancy will inevitably happen. 4)Take it easy. Doing too much too soon can slow down the body's repair work and cause bleeding to start again, or to become heavy once it's started tapering off.

I had sex during my periods, on 4th day, without protection, After 6 days of completion of my periods I am suffering from little vaginal discharge, red brown in colour. I day of this I had pain also. It is continue from 5 days. What Is this I do not want to be pregnant. Suggest me about this and Also tell me safest precaution to prevent pregnancy, if it is pregnancy.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology

These symptoms are not related to pregnany as they will come after 1 month of the sex and you have not missed the period yet. For pain and bleeding you should take tablet meftal spas three times a day. This bleeding is because of hormonal changes, and not related to pregnancy. As you r already bleeding after the sex you can not be pregnant.

Hello, I maintain sexual relations with my boyfriend three times and each time I have consumed unwanted 72. Its causing sharp pain in my stomach. Please tell me what I should do ?

MBBS, DGO (cal)
General Physician,
You are a messy person. Why you don't have protected sex if you so desire? taking those pills again and again is not good. Better you go for oral contraceptives or else ask your boy friend to use condom. It is better for both of you.

My wife ultrasound report showing ovarian cyst fluid filled with size 98*89 mm. Now doctor has asked me to go for Pelvis MRI while this is to be removed anyhow. please suggest.

While surgery quickly removes cysts but tendency to form again doesn't go. 'kaphavritt' channels are blocked causing cysts etc. These are managed by AARTAV SHUDDHI procedure by oral administration of herbal decoctions and combos. this curetts the blockades in female reproductive system by 'lekhan' (scraping) action of herbs. This is non invasive, non surgical and safe.

Hello, as told by you, your wife is 3 years elder ie she is 40 years now. The age is not very favorable for good fertility. However, both of you should get a detailed checkup done without wasting time. If cost is a factor, go to a government hospital for the purpose.
