I think you dont believe in foreplay and just concentrate on sex.Firstly make your wife comfortable to have sex. There must be a strong bonding in your relations.Sex is not just a play of sexual organs but it is the collection of many different aspects of a HUSBAND-WIFE or a MALE- FEMALE RELATIONSHIP. 1.Love your wife like she is the most preciouss creature in this world 2.Try to find out her likingss and fulfill them 3.Dont try to have sex against her wish 4.Try to find out what is going on in her mind. 5.Dont speak loudly in front of her or dont try todominate her in any deciion making talk going on in your family 6.Make her feel like she is also an important member of family and no decision is final without her. 7.Go for a atleast 10-15 minutes minutes morning or evening walk all alone. 8.If you find her wrong anywhere dont scold her but tell her that she is wrong in the most lovable way.Dont argue. 9.Lasstly after implementation of all thesepoints for one month, concentrate on foreplay for atleat 5 minutes before having sex. 10.Your wife must feel like you are the one who she wass looking for throughout her life. Can you do this

Hi lybrate-user. Welcome to lybrate. As long as she has had her period after the act it's not possible that she could be pregnant. Nausea and vomiting and feeling sick could be due to infection also. Hope this information has put your doubts to rest. All the best.

Can PCOS be cured because that's what I have and I've been having it since I was 16.
It's something that you can have control over. Weight loss can help. Hormonal balance is the key. Weight loss with proper exercises like yoga and cardio are very helpful. Drink water. Nowadays most of the females are suffering from PCOS because of the lifestyle changes. Keeping PCOS in control can prevent a lot of lifestyle diseases like diabetes.

Gestational Diabetes - High Blood Sugar During Pregnancy

MBBS, DGO, MD, Fellowship in Gynae Oncology
Gynaecologist, Delhi
Gestational Diabetes - High Blood Sugar During Pregnancy

Diabetes is a condition wherein one suffers from high blood sugar levels. Gestational diabetes is a form of diabetes which occurs only during pregnancy. It is certainly possible to bear a healthy child, provided certain lifestyle modifications are adhered to. Once the baby is born, the condition usually tends to disappear. However, this does make you prone to Type 2 diabetes (a condition wherein the body is unable to utilize the insulin effectively).

High blood sugar levels during pregnancy can affect the baby. It usually gives rise to complications such as high blood sugar levels in the baby, impaired functioning of the pancreas in order to produce insulin, and excess sugar deposits in the form of fats. The baby might also become predisposed to jaundice and other breathing difficulties.

Causes:

Pregnancy causes the placenta to produce hormones that impair the functioning of insulin. The pancreas too does not produce the required amount of insulin. Both these factors contribute to the rise of sugar levels in the body.

There are certain factors which may put you at risk of being affected by gestational diabetes –

  1. Obesity

  2. A family history of diabetes

  3. Past history of the condition

Treatment:

There are measures one can adopt to reduce risks of this disorder. Shed the extra pounds and maintain optimal weight levels. An active lifestyle would ensure proper utilization of the insulin by the body. The main goal of treating gestational diabetes is to get the blood sugar levels back to normal. This can be done by:

  1. Insulin Shots: Insulin shots help normalize and regulate high blood sugar levels. Another advantage is that these shots do not affect the baby.

  2. Diet: A healthy eating plan helps prevent sudden surge in blood sugar. You have to be conscious of the type of foods you eat and be mindful of the portions you eat. Processed foods should be avoided; instead the focus should be on natural foods.

  3. Being Physical Active: Pregnancy does put certain restrictions on your mobility and your ability to perform certain exercises. Hence, an exercise plan should be designed accordingly. In times such as these, cardio vascular exercises, such as brisk walking, swimming or Yoga should be enjoying maximum priority in your list of the doable exercises. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a gynaecologist and ask a free question.

Yes uterine malformation may be associated with painful periods and subfertility. You will need a laparoscopy / hysteroscopy and dye test to evaluate your condition a bit further. Depending on the exact nature of the problem corrective surgery can be done at the same time.

5 Ways to Maximise Your Chances of Getting Pregnant

5 Ways to Maximise Your Chances of Getting Pregnant
5 Ways to Maximise Your Chances of Getting Pregnant

Sometimes getting pregnant is not a very easy task, and may end up taking a long time. But once you’ve decided to start a family of your own, it becomes harder to wait for it to happen. Here are 5 things you can do increase your chances of getting pregnant.

1. Have missionary sex at least once every 2-3 days
The key is to have regular unprotected sex for over a year. The success rate for this is 84%. It is advised that you have sex every two to three days in every month of the year, and it’s not necessary to stick to only those days for having sex when the woman is ovulating. Further, a spiced up sex life can increase your chances of the girl getting pregnant.

As for the position, the missionary position works best as it helps the sperm on travelling through the cervix, which in any other position proves to be difficult. You can make the path of the sperm even easier by placing a cushion under the woman as it tilts the uterus, allowing the sperm to travel through more easily.

2. Keeping track of the ovulation period
Even though regular sex throughout the month is advised, it is certainly more fruitful to know your cycle. You can only get pregnant when the sperm meets the egg, and the egg is only released around the 14th day in your cycle. This egg lives only for a day or two, so you have a limited window when you can actually get pregnant. Typically this window is approximately of 6 days, so it’s best to have sex in this period. But it’s important not get obsessive and put too much pressure to have sex on these days as the stress can reduce sperm quality. So be mindful of it and still enjoy the activity rather than being obsessive. There are several free apps that you can download to help you track your cycle.

3. Ensuring the sperm health
Cutting down on coffee, cigarettes and alcohol and maintaining an ideal weight as well as increasing the consumption of folic acid are necessary steps to ensure healthy and fertile sperm quality. Alcohol reduces sperm production, smoking causes low sperm count and slow-moving sperm, while being overweight can affect a man’s libido and performance. The same goes for caffeine or drinks that contain a high amount of soda. Besides, prolonged exposure to heat on the testicular area should also be avoided to ensure that the man’s sperm is healthy. So avoid keeping laptops on your lap, saunas and jacuzzis, hot baths, steam rooms, long drives or wearing tight underwear.

4. Try de-stressing
Psychological preparedness is as important as physical preparedness to maximise your chances of getting pregnant. These days couples lead very hectic and stressful lifestyles in which trying to get pregnant can only add to their stress levels. Increased stress lowers egg passage in women. Besides, trying too hard to get pregnant and the stress that it creates is the reason behind 30% of all infertility problems. In such cases, destressing by exercising, yoga, meditation or acupuncture is a good idea.

5. Don’t put off having a baby for too long
Women are at their peak fertile period in their early twenties, but these days many women opt for starting a family at a later age. Having a baby post the age of 30 can pose problems as fertility levels tend to drop. Post the age of 31 fertility in women drops by 3% per year and continues at the same rate till 35. After the age of 35 the rate of decline accelerates.

Guess Which Fruit Is Your Best Friend This Summer

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), M.D in Ayurveda, Ph.D

Guess Which Fruit Is Your Best Friend This Summer
4 reasons as to why you need to make watermelon your companion this season

Here are the 4 reasons as to why you need to make watermelon your companion this season:
1) A well of water - With around 92% of water trapped in that green melon ball, one can never be thirsty or dehydrated when consuming watermelon. It is a perfect source of hydration. Watermelon is full of good electrolytes, and these electrolytes can help you prevent heat strokes in summers.

2) An all-rounder - Watermelon is a hydrator, a fruit and a vegetable. Yes, you read that right. Watermelon is a fruit as well as a vegetable. It can be traced back to the cucumber family known as Cucurbitaceae. Not to forget the rind, this can be consumed as well.

3) The Multi-tasking Rind - Don’t we love a multi-tasker? Well, the watermelon rind is one of them. The watermelon rind contains citrulline which makes arginine, an amino acid, which is responsible for making proteins which lead to relaxation of blood vessels. The citrulline also leads to less muscle fatigue which therefore allows you to extend your workout sessions. And with only 1.8 calories in 1 inch cube of watermelon rind, it is a must to make some place for it, in your diet or daily meals.

4. The fertility seeds - Watermelon seeds contain more lycopene than raw tomatoes. This matters because lycopene acts as an antioxidant which stops the free radicals from making any damage to cells and immune system. Lycopene is not only good for your face but also helps in improving male fertility.

Take Away - Who says, money cannot buy health? You can buy a watermelon! So, when are you buying health? And making it your companion this season!

I am getting married in a fortnight. I and my fiancée are very excited about our first night sex. I want to know how many rounds of sex are advisable on the first night as we both are virgins. Also how many rounds should we do every night without causing any damage to our organs as we want to have a very long and happy sex life. Thank you in advance.

BHMS
Homeopath, Raebareli
Please note that it all depends on your stamina to perform and her stamina to bear you. Secondly it is quiet obvious that first time sex is a bit painful for both if you are both virgins. Usually 2-3 times/night is the maximum time for one to perform.
