Hello lybrate-user pain in teeth can be caused by various issues- but since your problem is from past 4-5 months, plus you are facing bad pain too, that means there is infection in your tooth/teeth, you might b needing root canal treatment or extraction of that tooth to solve the problem. How to protect my teeth from germs, how can I improve my teeth color according to white like a cute baby. How can I care about my hair also.? Please help me.

Hello, Hello, To prevent tooth decay: Brush your teeth at least twice a day with a fluoride-containing toothpaste. Preferably, brush after each meal and especially before going to bed. Clean between your teeth daily with dental floss or interdental cleaners, such as the Oral-B Interdental Brush, Reach Stim-U-Dent. Eat nutritious and balanced meals and limit snacks. Avoid carbohydrates such as candy, pretzels and chips, which can remain on the tooth surface. If sticky foods are eaten, brush your teeth soon afterwards. Check with your dentist about use of supplemental fluoride, which strengthens your teeth. Ask your dentist about dental sealants (a plastic protective coating) applied to the chewing surfaces of your back teeth (molars) to protect them from decay. Drink fluoridated water. At least a pint of fluoridated water each day is needed to protect children from tooth decay. Visit your dentist regularly for professional cleanings and oral exam. Use SBL's (homoeopathic) Homoeodent tooth paste for good results.

I am 22 years old. My problem is my teeth pain. I have suffer form tomorrow site teeth pain. Suggest me some home medits?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
The type of treatment you have for toothache will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. •If your toothache can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed.

I think you r taking about calculus around your teeth. If it is so, you should go for scaling treatment that will clean all your entire teeth.

My dentist did rct of maxillary molar. Then I realize the pain and I went for the checkup again due to pain but he extracted the infected portion of my tooth and half of the tooth left. He said that crown will be make. Is it safe?

CEOR, B.D.S, P.G Dip Ortho

After root canal it's better to have a crown capping of the particular tooth to avoid such kind of situations No worry if part of crown of tooth remains somewhat it can be restored using capping of tooth. It is safe don't worry.

Smell from the mouth can be due to several cuases. Intraoral and extraoral. First we need to discuss the causes and find the one in your case. Mere brushing wont suffice.

My teeth is in yellow color and hair is in black to white colour why? Please help me.

BDS
Dentist, Gurgaon
There are several causes of tooth discoloration, including: foods/drinks. Coffee, tea, colas, wines, and certain fruits and vegetables (for example, apples and potatoes) can stain your teeth. Tobacco use. Smoking or chewing tobacco can stain teeth. Poor dental hygiene. Inadequate brushing and flossing. Here is home remedy for brighter teeth--- mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes. For faster result you can go for teeth bleaching from dentist.

I had my braces takes off 1 year ago and now I feels that my teeth are shifting back to its old position so anything needful to be done in regards of this. Thanks.

MDS - Orthodontics
Dentist, Guwahati
Whenever anyone undergoes orthodontic treatment (braces), the teeth are shifted from their position to a new position. In doing so, the teeth undergoes remodelling in the bone. It takes a lot of time to complete. Till the remodeling process is over, your teeth will still be loose in their socket and will have a tendency to move. After your braces treatment, the orthodontist gives you a retainer which keeps your teeth in the corrected position. You should be having a fixed retainer behind your teeth which is supposed to be permanently there. Also, removable retainers for night time wear. If you are not using those or you don't have them, ask your orthodontist for it. Otherwise, your treatment will relapse and your teeth will shift back to its old position or may be worse.

I am having trouble with my teeth they are becoming yellowish is there any solution for this.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
The simplest method of removing minor surface stains is polishing, or micro-abrasion if staining is more intrinsic. Provided that your discolouration is not due to inadequate enamel exposing the dentin, tooth whitening (bleaching) is often the most effective treatment for yellow stained teeth. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply snowdent paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min. Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results.

There is problem in my teeth. and between my teeth there is a cavity that's why some times it pain a lot and food is also filled into it so how can I resolve it to save my teeth and get the relief for this problem.

MDS Prosthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Hyderabad
Any dental cavity needs a filling to prevent total damage. The dentist will take a radiograph and decide if a filling can be done or the tooth needs root canal treatment. Filling closes the gap, so you will not have food lodgement problem too.
