Yoga Vs. Gymming- Find Out What Works Best for You

Yoga Vs. Gymming- Find Out What Works Best for You
Yoga Vs. Gymming- Find Out What Works Best for You

The World Health Organisation recommends 150 minutes of any moderate physical activity per week for individuals aged between 18-64 years of age. Physical activities like yoga or gymming are high on the priority list of every health-conscious individual. Yoga may keep you younger, while gymming on the other hand, may help in keeping you stronger. Both these methods are loaded with equal benefits, which might make it tough for you to choose either one of them.

Read on to find out what works best for yourself.

1. If you want to lose weight…Hit the gym!

Intensive training or cardio-vascular exercises are particularly effective in shedding extra kilos as they keep your heart pumping fast, while also burning your calories. A single gymming session can be helpful in burning up to 3,500 calories in your body, which is equal to losing half a kilo of weight.
If you weigh 68-70kgs, a 30-minute yoga regime can help you burn about 85 calories, whereas if you perform a moderate-intensity exercise routine of 30 minutes on an elliptical trainer may end up burning up to 340 calories.

2. If you want to gain strength…Hit the gym!
Pull-up bars, barbells and other gym equipment are especially designed to build your physical strength. Gym training requires muscle contractions and stretching, and if you perform them regularly, your muscles contract more efficiently and for a longer time without injuring your tendons. This also helps in increasing your endurance and energy levels, while building stamina.

3. If you want to gain composure and balance…Practice yoga!
Yoga comprises of sets of meditative postures or asanas that can help in relaxing your tired muscles and mind. Unlike most exercise routines, yoga focuses more on achieving harmony of the mind, body and spirit rather than just giving you a fitter frame. Regular yoga practice can alter your body’s physical and emotional response to stress, anxiety, depression, and hypertension.

4. If you want to be flexible…Practice yoga!
Inflexibility in your muscles and connective tissues can cause poor posture in your body, resulting in various aches and pains. Yoga can increase your flexibility by loosening stiff muscles, which can eventually result in the disappearance of all bodily aches and pains. The contraction and stretching of muscles in yoga asanas help in improving the functions of your immune system as well. It also helps the lymphatic system of your body fight infections, destroy cancerous cells, and dispose of toxic waste products, thereby keeping you fit and healthy.

Hi i am 26 years old female. I got pregnant and I took mefipristone and misoprostole. Everything went normal and I got my periods next month. Now I feel pain during intercourse. Even after a week of my last day of period I am still bleeding though just in very little amount. What shall I do?

Have you undergone scan again for confirmation? if not, better you should go n meet gynaecologist for checkup. These all pills should b taken under guidance of a particular specialist only. Sometimes, even 1-2 pieces left over inside the uterus also may cause infection. Which leads to irregular, intermittent flow.

U consult infertility specialist and both of you need to undergo evaluation. Then go for follicular monitoring till you get dominant follicle. Once the dominant follicle comes, you can try timed intercourse or IUI according to your doctors advice.

What are the Causes of post menopause bleeding and what should I do further? Please tell me.

What are the Causes of post menopause bleeding and what should I do further? Please tell me.
Hello, there are few causes of post-menopausal bleeding: polyps: these are growths, usually noncancerous, that can develop in the uterus, on the cervix, or inside the cervical canal. They might cause bleeding. Endometrial atrophy (thinning of the endometrium): the endometrium, the tissue that lines the uterus, can become very thin after menopause because of lower estrogen levels. This may cause unexpected bleeding. Endometrial hyperplasia: in this condition, the lining of the uterus becomes thick, and bleeding may occur as a result. Obesity may be the cause of the problem. Some people with endometrial hyperplasia may have abnormal cells that can lead to endometrial cancer (cancer of the uterine lining). Endometrial cancer (uterine cancer): bleeding after menopause can be a sign of endometrial cancer. Other causes: hormone therapy, infection of the uterus or cervix, use of certain medications such as blood thinners, and other types of cancer can cause postmenopausal bleeding. You need to get transvaginal ultrasound, endometrial biopsy, d & c, etc. Done for proper diagnosis.

U should have planned your family planning methods before marriage. No food prevents conception Now, your wife can take iPill as emergency contraception. Later on she must take regular OC pills or you can use condoms. Do not take iPill as regular pill. Its harmful if taken frequently.

Sir. 3 mnth pehle mere left ovary me cyst tha jis wajh se mera opration karke left ovary remove kr diya gya Main unmarried hun Kya is wajh se main pregnent nahi ho sakti.

MBBS, MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology
IVF Specialist, Delhi
Women have got two ovaries. While removal of one of them certainly can affect the overall potential (your stock of eggs in the body is likely reduced to half now), the real impact (if any) on your fertility will likely depend on many other factors. As you may know it requires just one egg for fertilization and if your other ovary is healthy and continues to work properly and rest everything is normal (structurally and functionally), you should be fine. The good thing is that you are young and have age on your side. I will suggest you to plan a family sooner rather than later. In the worst case, you do have the option of fertility preservation these days, wherein you could actually get your eggs frozen and stored outside of your body for use at a later, more opportune time. Hi doctor, I am 28 years male married recently. I tried to turn on my wife through touch at sensitive parts but couldn't turn her on as she was feeling tickles. Her vaginal entrance is pretty small, when tried to enter fully, its causing her pain. Please help how to proceed to penetrate in full length and reach orgasm.

MBBS, MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Chennai
First you should relax her and tell everything every step you are going to do on her. Make her comfortable and do foreplay for atleast 45 minutes. Don't go down to vagina and concentrate more on breast. After making sure that her lubrication is ok and adequate. First try to insert your fingers gradually slowly till it completely penetrates. You have to do like this 3-4 days without try to penetrate your penis. Once her anxiety is comes down after 3-4 days try to insert your penis gradually and slowly. She will be ok in another a week. All the best.
