Dear lybrate-user, it is best to have a healthy mix of fruits and vegetables of all colours during pregnancy. Wash them well or peel as required. Avoid raw banana, papaya and raw paneer as it can be contaminated and may cause you to fall sick.

Im married and is planning for a baby now. For last 3 days I had a mixture of fenugreek, dates butter and milk as I heard it improve weight gain. Now I heard fenugreek will cause harmful effects too. Hello, Hearing is not believing. All natural foods are safe. Conception is not guaranteed by feeding practices, one has to understand that. The ovum quality is hormone dependent and not food dependent.

The big question so what do we do to have flawless skin, stronger nails and hair. Eat a balanced diet, keep yourself well hydrated and include these in your diet

1. Protein: lean meats, chicken, seafood, legumes, eggs and dairy products

2. Omega fatty acids: tuna, salmon and sardines and for vegetarians please supplement yourselves with omega fatty acids

3. Iron & vitamin c: legume, red meat, citrus fruits, capsicum

4. Nuts: for essential fatty acids

5. Beta carotene: carrot, watermelon, tomatoes.

6. Vitamin d: cheese, beef, mushrooms and plenty of sunlight.

Beauty is surely from within. Don't look for quick fixes look for long term solutions.

Maybe you're just really eager to get pregnant, or maybe you want your baby's birth to happen at a specific time. Please note that you can not predict a time frame and sometimes it takes time to conceive. Have patience and here are some tips which can help: Tip #1: The biggest secret to getting pregnant faster is knowing when you ovulate (release an egg from your ovary). Think of the egg as a bull's-eye and the sperm as arrows. One of the arrows has to hit the bull's-eye in order for you to get pregnant. If you notice that you have irregular periods over the course of several months, pinpointing ovulation could be difficult. Ask your doctor for advice. Tip #2: Once you know when your egg will be released from your ovary, you can plan to have sex during your most fertile days: from three days before ovulation through the day of ovulation. (Starting a little sooner can't hurt; some women have gotten pregnant from sex that happened six days before they ovulated.) If you have a regular cycle of 28 days, days 12 to 16 days are said to be a woman's most fertile period counting from the first day of cycle. Tip #3: Sperm have their best shot at fertilizing an egg when they're healthy, strong, and plentiful. Several things can help your partner get his sperm supply in fighting shape: - Cut back on alcohol (studies show that drinking daily can reduce testosterone levels and sperm counts and raise the number of abnormal sperm) - Quit tobacco and recreational drugs (these can cause poor sperm function) - Eat enough of certain key nutrients – like zinc, folic acid, calcium, and vitamins C and D – that help create plentiful, strong, wiggly sperm - Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and hot baths, since heat kills sperm.

How to improve your eating habits

You are what you eat, and this rings true for everyone. What you eat impacts your health the most, much more than any other thing. What you eat also depends on your environment and the people you share your life with. However, cultivating healthy eating habits does not require a lot of effort. Making small changes to your daily habits and lifestyle is the only way to improve your eating habits permanently- diets only provide temporary help.

Here are some changes to make to improve your eating habits:

- Incorporate more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains into your diet while eliminating unhealthy foods.

- If you are working or studying away from home, try to pack healthy lunch and snacks for yourself to avoid eating unhealthy food daily.

- Don't eat straight from the packet - use a plate or bowl to control how much you eat.

- Don't delay or skip meals.

- Cut down your consumption of aerated drinks and sodas.

- Drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. Drink water after waking up and before sleeping. Being dehydrated may make you feel like you're hungry, so it is important to stay hydrated.

- Have homemade fruit and vegetable juices

- Eat 5-6 small healthy meals every 2-3 hours, every day, instead of having a few big ones. This regulates your blood sugar level and your metabolism.

- Don't skip breakfast, instead, make it rich with complex carbohydrates and proteins, so it can provide you with energy to get through the day. Try to include the following as your morning breakfast, oats porridge, eggs on multigrain toast or daliya with sprouts.

- Avoid artificial sweeteners in processed foods.

- Eat slowly as it takes about 20 minutes for your brain to register if you're full or not. Eating too fast leads to overeating, so chew slowly to digest your food better and control how much you eat.

- Use a smaller plate to control your portion sizes and avoid overeating.

- Know your cravings and do not snack when you're emotional. It is said that you crave crunchy and savory food when you're stressed, frustrated or lonely. Figure out what you crave and replace them with healthier alternatives.

- Do not eat mindlessly; concentrate on your food instead of watching tv or playing with your phone to avoid overeating.

Financially unstable. Me and my husband are working to keep the show running at 30 and 31 respectively. I have still never not felt that I want kids. I am not a baby friendly person while my husband loves children. What can go wrong with my health if I chose not to have kids ever?

May be you never discussed with your husband about fear of having kids, being too absorbed in job or listening to sob sob stories from other working mothers about creche/ ayaah problems which are faced by every working woman with young kids in entire universe. It may not affect your health but it will lead to marital discard for sure as you have no respect for feelings of your husband. He loves kids and you 2 can adjust timetables of your respective jobs, having own kids instills feelings of nurture through own maternal instincts which you have not felt yet - how can you say that you hate kids? a senior being ditched by own kids after giving them all they had, has a reason to feel bitter but youth should be full of enthusiasm for a positive change and to believe in harsh reality that parenting is a one way process.

4 to 6 months are safe after pregnancy. She can take proper balanced vegetarian diet. Take 8 to 10 glasses of water daily to detoxify body. Take fruits and vegetables in daily diet. Do meditation for mental strength daily. Take milk and milk products.

Is it safe to travel in pregnancy during 4th month in a train? Actually we are living in Delhi and wishes to visit our native place at Andhra Pradesh which is above 2000km journey and 34 to 36 hrs journey. Last menstrual period was 28.01. 2016. Already have history of abortion after bleeding in October 2015.

We wish to have baby at the earliest please suggest me the diet that me and husband should have and which day which should have sex so that I may get pregnant soon since i am worried about my age factor which is 32.

Since your age is 32, so first get an amh test and usg for antral follicle count done. If you have a regular cycle of 28-30 days then your fertile period will be from 8th day of your cycle till 18th day, so do regular intercourse during this time. Spinach, romaine, arugula, broccoli, and other dark leafy greens are high in folate, a b vitamin that a few studies have shown may improve ovulation. Be sure to share the salad with your guy; men who get higher doses of folate make healthier sperm, potentially reducing the chances of miscarriage or genetic problems in the baby. Avoid trans fats found in many baked foods, processed foods, fried foods, and more, as these fats decrease the body's ability to react to insulin, which will make you more prone to irregular ovulation.
