My 18 month old daughter has got a blackened front tooth. Today we consulted a doctor who advised that tooth is dead now and gums are getting infected. The dead tooth needs to be extracted immediately. We took second opinion from another doctor who confirmed that there is infection but can be treated with root canal. When my daughter was 9 months old we noticed a pinkish tinge on this tooth which gradually kept on darkening and is almost black now. Need help whether we should get the tooth extracted or get root canal done or consult someone else if it can be treated through medicines.

Dear lybrate-user ji, the tooth is dead for sure and is due to some old insult to the tooth which would have gone unnoticed. If the bone is healthy and not mobile, we can save it 100% and an E max laminate or crown can be placed and that shall solve the problem. For more please consult.

Consult nearest dentist. Do not rely only on medicine as the pain is the sign that something is bad on your tooth. Pain is not a disease. Medicing is not a treatmet. Thank you

Get the cavity filled immediately otherwise you can suffer from more pain and discomfort because of pulp infection. Brush regularly two times daily. Rinse your mouth after each meal.

I'm 29 years, I have a bitter taste in my mouth for the past one month what should I do to get rid off.

I'm 29 years, I have a bitter taste in my mouth for the past one month
what should I do to get rid off.
Causes Having a bitter taste in your mouth is often not a serious problem, but it can interfere with your daily life and affect your diet. Drink plenty of fluids and chew on sugar-free gum to help increase saliva production. Practice good dental hygiene. Gently brush for two solid minutes twice a day, and floss daily. See your dentist every six months for checkups. Reduce your chances of experiencing acid reflux by losing weight if you need to, avoiding spicy or fatty foods, not smoking tobacco products, limiting alcohol, and eating small, frequent meals rather than large ones. The herb slippery elm can help increase mucous secretions, which work to shield the GI tract luminal lining from stomach acid irritation.

Dear lybrate user, quitting the habit is the ultimate solution to avoid long term complication of pan-masala chewing. Get a professional cleaning/scaling done to get rid of the stains. Maintain proper oral hygiene.
