Hello, yellow teeth could be because of deposits on your teeth or food lodged in your teeth. Visit a dentist get your scaling and polishing done. It is done with an ultrasonic tip which removes the layer of deposit on teeth, so does not affect enamel. Brush twice daily, maintain proper brushing technique, floss regularly and rinse after every meal. Visit dentist every 6 months.

I am a 60 yr. Old woman. I have to get my wisdom tooth from the left upper jaw removed. Will there be any side effects after tooth extraction. Is an oral surgeon, better than a dentist for the process of tooth extraction? Pl. Advise.

Hi, There are no side effects after extraction only certain restrictions post extraction. Mild discomfort, pain etc will be there which will subside with the prescribed medication. Usually third molar erupts in a slightly deviated manner .An oral surgeon is specialized in removal of such teeth .but an experienced dentist also can do the treatment.

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical, gum strengthening procedure. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

I am having tongue ulcers for many months, today I noticed on edge of my tongue, there is a web like black structure and a little tiny red structures.

BDS, MDS-Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Dental oncology Training, Diploma in Cosmetic Dentistry
Dentist, Mumbai
Better to show the ulcer to a specialist. Ulcer since 2 months could be due to a number of causes like dental trauma, leukoplakia, lichen plants or cancer Black marks could be due to pigmentation or blood clots. Difficult to tell the exact cause without examination.

The black dots in your teeth can be stains or cavities. Please visit a dentist to understand what is the level of damage to the teeth. Also, brushing is to prevent cavities; it cannot treat it. From your symptoms, cannot abstain if any vitamin deficiency.

Drinking a cup of tea everyday helps in keeping the gums and teeth healthy as; it contains high amounts of fluoride and flavonoids which prevent harmful bacteria from sticking to the teeth.
