My wife is 26 years old with no medical issues. We were just wondering what would be the ideal age for trying to have a baby. We don't want to rush, but don't want to go to a critical age too (that increases complications). Please tell.

25 is ideal but few years before or after is okay 25-30 is also not bad but after 35 there is a raid decline ti functions of ovaries which generate less eggs. After 35, for 1st pregnancy every mother to be has to undergo a genetic test on fetus to rule out down syndrome.

I m 5 weeks pregnant. Can I have flex seeds during my pregnancy and fill when should I have it. Is it good for the baby.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
It is said that consumption of flax seeds is not very safe during pregnancy but lack of proper evidence. Flax seeds contain some of the vital nutrients that you need in pregnancy. Here are some of the benefits of having them when you are pregnant: flax seeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and fiber that your body needs during pregnancy. The laxative properties of flax seeds help keep constipation away. Flax seeds are also a good source of fiber, minerals and vitamins. You can keep the blood sugar levels normal by taking flax seeds. So you should have flax seeds during pregnancy. And there is no harm to you or your baby.

Hello- There is a decrease in testosterone level in males generally after marriage, due to this they find their regular sex partner/wife unattractive. Start some sex boosting supplements for your husband to spark your marital life. Start caring towards your looks and appeals, try to seduce him by body perfumes, erotic pictures and some new erotic ideas. Sex supplements can increase your husband sexual urge and if that happens he will need a sexual attraction from your side.

Pregnancy and Health - Challenges for a Man

Pregnancy and Health - Challenges for a Man

While pregnant women undergo wide range of emotions throughout the nine months of pregnancy - elation, depression, anxiety, excitement and anticipation, men too experience a roller coaster of feelings. Men who are expecting a baby might be stressed due to things like financial responsibilities, relationships and work. Becoming a dad involves lot of change, often all at once. It can lead to stress in his pregnant partner. Unfortunately this can affect your baby's health and development as well.

Every women's body, mind, circumstances are different. It is hard to predict how she will be feeling at any given time. The best thing you can provide is unconditional love and support to her. Understand that there is no single "normal" pattern to what a women will feel as she progresses to pregnancy. Rapid hormonal changes makes her more emotional and you have to face it. The best is to notice her feeling and be patient.

Respect her and be there for her needs:

Building a baby is incredibly taxing on a women's body. The first and third trimester are particularly hard and exhaustive even in the most energetic women. This is your time to step up. The first trimester is an ideal time to begin learning and give the support that your partner needs. You should buy easy to wear clothes for her. The health and happiness of both mom and baby should be at the priority. Respect her body and emotional needs. If she is unable to eat certain food due to nausea, then you should also avoid those foods. You should avoid alcohol, tobacco and illicit drugs.

In addition to her physical health, a women's emotional well-being and her mental health also pay important role in pregnancy care. As the hormonal level in her body increases, it makes her more irritable. Sometimes she is over joyed and excited and sometimes she is worried and fearsome as the delivery approaches. Recognise the pregnancy as a way to deepen your relationship with your partner and your new child.

Addicted to Sweet Stuffs on this Diwali? Here's how to break the cycle.

Addicted to Sweet Stuffs on this Diwali? Here's how to break the cycle.

Diwali has just gone by and there are festivities in the air. Lots of people have gotten into the habit of having sweet tit bits at odd times and then blaming it on their sweet tooth. Is there something called as sugar addiction or is it plain bad habits? experts advise that it is probably both and one needs to just stop the intake of extra table sugar in any form.

A three week sugar free diet is said to cure the body of the sugar cravings and detox the body from sugar. But the fact is a small period of absence and then binging may create an addict-like effect. The reason is high blood sugar causes the secretion of feel-good hormones from the brain. These hormones are the same as those released by the brain after consuming street drugs like cocaine. Thus sugar can mess up the body and brain much like a very small dose of heroin.

People who are habituated to sugar either because of addiction or plain bad eating habits may get into a rhythm when they started feeling shaky, low and nervous when they miss their daily sugar fix. These symptoms occur because of low blood sugar and become more prominent as the metabolism tilts towards diabetes.

Medical research has found that people who find themselves hooked on sugar, trigger a brain reaction similar to those produced by drug addicts. The sugar gets quickly broken into glucose which is the food for the brain and triggers these reactions.

Though even vegetables, dairy and fruits also have these sugars but because of high amount of fibre in these foods, the release of glucose in the body is slow and constant whereas the glucose released by artificial stuff like candy etc is sudden and sharp. This sharp peak creates a sugar- high and seems to be the cause of trouble for our brain. Once the sugar levels drop we start craving for a sugar high again.

The high followed by a low sugar cycle needs to be broken to have a sustained energy level and it is important to avoid foods which can push us into this trap. Foods like fruits, vegetables, yogurt, corn etc should be consumed more and quick sugar foods like pastries, cakes, table sugar, jellies, donuts etc need to be consumed less in order to avoid sugar addiction.

I am pregnant. Nd from the 3rd month of pregnancy I am suffering from the acidity problem. Now my 5th month of pregnancy is going on. Please give me your advice.

Hi. I am a pcod patient. I am taking treatment to conceive. My follicle ruptured on 18th march. Doctor asked me to take pregnancy test on 3rd April and started medicine duphaston and estrabet. My hpt showed negative result. Should I wait for few more days to get accurate result. As my last month period date was 4th March.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, DGO
IVF Specialist, Mumbai
Please note you can wait for 3-4 days, because as your hpt is negative so you might get your periods. If after 3-4 days you did not get your periods then do a blood pregnancy test which is more confirmative.

Any problem, whether physical or psychological, is caused by the imbalance in the tridosha. Similarly, any problem can be solved if the three doshas are balanced.

All the treatments and principles of ayurveda are based upon one goal; that is to balance the tridosha. So if you look for a healthy living, you need to understand all three doshas.

Hi week ago I had sex for the first time and my bf was here to visit me for only a week so we did it a lot, I don't known if that has anything to do with my problem but this wasn't happening while I was having sex. After he left, like the next day when I went to pee I felt this weird sharp slight pain like in my bladder. I don't know how to explain it but that happens every time I pee and I feel like I have to pee all the time and when I do it's like nothing. I have a friend who said she had that same problem but it went away I just want to make sure I'm okay.

This looks like urinary tract infection called as honeymoon cystitis because it happens after sexual intercourse. You need to go for urine routine and culture tests and directly contact online or in person for appropriate line of action and treatment. It will be absolutely alright. Move on its needed.
