I have a bad smell in my mouth. Please give me a suggestion to overcome the smell.
Bad breath can be reduced or prevented if you: - practice good oral hygiene. - brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste to remove food debris and plaque. - don't forget to brush the tongue, too. - replace your toothbrush every 2 to 3 months or after an illness. - use floss or an interdental cleaner to remove food particles and plaque between teeth once a day. - see your dentist regularly -- at least twice a year. He or she will conduct an oral exam and professional teeth cleaning and will be able to detect and treat periodontal disease, dry mouth, or other problems that may be the cause of bad mouth odor. - drink lots of water. This will keep your mouth moist. - chewing gum (preferably sugarless) stimulates the production of saliva, which helps wash away food particles and bacteria.

I am suffering with repeated mouth ulcer since I have started taking medicine. Whats the reason?
Hello. You can add a pinch of baking soda in water and rinse with it. This will help to heal your ulcers. You need to visit a physician and get your Vitamin B levels checked. Take supplements for it if required.

Dear Lybrate user, you seem to be suffereing from a painful and irritable tooth condition known as "Pericoronitis" which implies the inflammation of the soft tissue cover around a partially erupted crown of a tooth (wisdom tooth/third molar). It would be prudent for you to get the tooth extracted under able supervision of an expert General Dentist or a more specialized Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. The doctor would require an X-Ray (called an Intra-Oral Peri-Apical Radiograph or may be an OPG) before deciding on the fate of the tooth. You should not delay the treatment and plan to get the tooth extracted soon after the initial infection and inflammation, considerably subside. Meanwhile do some lukewarm-saltwater mouth rinses 3-4 times/day and eat a soft and non-spicy diet. Be well!

If you have pain in a capped tooth then you need to get it checked, it could be due to gingival recession or food lodgement or because of some problem in rct.

Seeing your age you will get good results by orthontic treatment that involves placement of braces. You should go for it sooner because as the age progress like in 30 years etc results are not that good.

Use any reputed brand toothpaste,,one thing u need to know about toothpaste and health of ur teeth,, toothpaste have only one role and that is maintain of enamel by fluoride present in the toothpaste,, otherwise i hasn't got any role,,it's the toothbrush that matters,,brush daily twice,,brush at night with baking soda,,avoid chewing tobacco,, avoid sugary drinks,,take as less as coffee or tea,,it is most important

Avoid Tobacco for better Heatlth

Advanced Aesthetics, Certified IVF Specialist
Dentist,
Avoid Tobacco for better Heatlth

Avoid Tobacco, this will be a big favor to your teeth. One, it will save you from oral cancer and periodontal complications. Two, it will save you from the countless ill effects caused by the agents used to mask the smell of tobacco. For example, if you smoke a cigarette, you may use candies, tea or coffee to mask the smoky breath and odor. This doubles the amount of damage caused.
