I am a 30 years old healthy male with no medical condition accept occasional acidity. For past few years I have issue of popping sound from my chest sternum. No pain only popping. Is this anything to worry about. From past few weeks my left shoulder (back part) aches when I wake up in the morning. Pain is severe, but subsides post I wake up. Sometimes similar pain occur in right bottom rib. Is this muscular pain or anything to worry about. I am a regular badminton player. My vitamin D Is 14. Please reply if any medication is needed.

Dear Lybrate user, You should rake half glass milk and half glass soda in breakfast with fruits boiled egg. Sand witch etc. Only. No junk food no oil o spice. Before lunch you can take salad first and normal food. Sam e thing is in the dinner. Do it for one week. Avoid constipation. Also take a ginger PC. With salt in your mouth and chew it for half an hour atleast. Within a week you will feel relax. If there is any other problem, call back with detail.

Muscular endurance are week due to stiffness ya lack of exercise. If stiff then do stretching or muscle relaxant medicine and after this start strength exercise like gripping exercise.

Hi, my penis foreskin rolls back during sleep and when I sleep on my stomach my penis rubs against my bed and causes discomfort. I have a sensitive penis when foreskin is rolled back. Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. Usually the penis glans beneath the foreskin is kept sensitive to give you maximum pleasure during vaginal sexual intercourse. So please do not try to reduce the sensation. Loose foreskin can be surgically corrected through a minor surgical procedure. Do consult a surgeon. Take care.

Hi as far as I can understand, you had a fracture in your hand as a child. If you are still experiencing pain in your hand, you should consult a hand specialist. A plastic or orthopedic surgeon can help diagnose your problem and help you get better.

This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. Ice can be kept in the low back where you have back pain. It is suggestible to wear lumbo sacral belt which would help you to build the abdominal muscle tone which itself would make you feel better. You can also wear mcr chappels which would help you to have less weight falling in the painful back. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain.

Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Hi = relax and stay positive. = increase fluid intake. = eat seasonal fruits for natural vitamins = do stretching of hamstring, quadriceps, and calf muscles. = if you are overweight, reduce weight by cycling or swimming as it gives low impact on joints. = do check your calcium and vit. D = apply moist heat pad to affected joint and muscles. If still you don't get relief see a physiotherapist as there are various causes for leg/ joint pain and some test may be required for further investigation. Best wishes.

Hello, Kindly follow advises given below 1.Avoid using computers continuously, take rest for 5 min after working for half an hour 2. In pain free interval do neck exercise (kindly learn exercise by registered Trainer) 3. you can use thin pillow while sleeping so that normal posture of neck can be maintained 4.Maintain proper posture of body while watching TV/ studying Kindly go for cervical X ray AP and lateral and review with reports Consult Physician for Further Management

Avoid protein diets,bad habits , fast food/fat/oily,salty foods. Coffee, smoking, alcohol intake. Non-veg., take whole grain,oats,green veg.,plenty of water in day time, 1 glass of water at night before bed. Take tab. Zyloric 100 mg once a day. Tab. Bencid 500 mg once a day.

Hi I would want to know whether an orthopedic surgeon has diagnosed the condition or is it your presumption? Backache and radiation of pain to legs or lower limbs is often called by laymen to be sciatica or due to slipped disc, when there can be a variety of other causes for low back pain syndrome. It is best assessed by a spine or orthopedic surgeon by physical check and supportive xrays/MRI before labelling it as slipped disc which is one of the common causes where intervertebral disc between 2 vertebral bodies degenerates a and protrudes out to compress adjoining nerve, or nerve root, or into spinal canal on cord itself. This often heals by conservative measures if not severe, but fee cases require surgical excision, fusion of joint space and surgery on adjacent soft tissues, foramina of facet joints where nerve emerges impingement of nerve causes acute or chronic pain symptoms. So please consult for above diagnosis and advise, treatment as necessary for your father's condition. As of now, comfortable lying in bed, application of muscle relaxant creams, fomentations, oral anti inflammatory and muscle relaxant tablets are needed. Wearing of spinal brace, avoiding forward bending, twisting of spine are usual precautions advised. Best wishes.

Avulsion Fracture - Common Causes Behind it

A small piece of bone is known as a fragment and it is very common that an avulsion fracture also tends to damage the protrusions of bone to which the tendons attach. This basically means that the tendon or ligament will come away from the bone and it will take a small piece of bone with it. It is sometimes very hard to find out what type of injury you have and this is why knowing the causes and symptoms of an avulsion fracture are very helpful in determining exactly how severe the injury is. 

Here are the causes of an avulsion fracture:

  1. Explosive landing: Athletes who tend to jump or land with great impact tend to get these most commonly. Therefore, it is crucial for your health that if you participate in such sports, you do follow the correct method of jumping.
  2. Explosive extension: Similar to how an athlete landing ferociously can get an avulsion fracture, someone who is extending the legs very violently and explosively during an exercise can also get an avulsion fracture. This is because the bone getting extended could very well damage the protrusions to which the tendons are attached. 

Symptoms
These are the two main causes of an avulsion fracture. There are not many symptoms of an avulsion fracture. This is because an avulsion fracture can only be determined by an MRI or by an X-ray scan. Therefore it is nearly impossible to diagnose that you have an avulsion fracture without looking at the results of the tests performed on the part of your body. However, the way you got the fracture and especially the details of it are very good indications of whether you have an avulsion fracture or not.

Dear I understand your concern for your mother. I would like to recommend you something that would help her to get heal and strengthen back muscles. I am sure she will get a relief. 1. Rest - take rest, but it doesn't mean a complete bed rest. Do not over exert your body. Work take rest and then work so that you do not feel tired and started paining. Precautions: 1. Avoid forward bending, if required then bend your knees first and then bend forward. 2. Avoid weight lifting. 3. Sit in chairs or car seats with proper back support. 4. Try to sleep in a position that helps you maintain the curve in your back like sidelying. 5. Get enough vit d from sun as vit d keep bones strong including spine, 6. Drink plenty of water to enhance the intervertebral disks 7. Avoid standing in the one position for a long time. 8. Try to sleep in a position that helps you maintain the curve in your back. We have various physio treatments which depends on the pain severity. So as per your question please follow the following treatment at home to reduce her pain and will give some percent of relief. 1. Apply heat directly to the area of low back pain will decrease swelling and inflammation, and ease discomfort. Apply it for 10 to 15 minutes only. 3. Relaxing for 5 minutes after ice or heat treatment. Massage - ask someone to massage your painful area using fingers or thumb. Massage using kneading technique. Slightly press the thumb and start rotating as it helps to induce relaxation, relieve pain, and reduce levels of stress chemicals, such as cortisol and noradrenaline. It will give you pain relief for time being. 3. After massage again relax for 5 min and apply any pain relieving ointment eg - volini or oraflame gel etc. Make sure not to do massage with the gel, it should not penetrate the body. Just a topical application of gel should be done. 4. Again relax your body for 5 minutes and perform some normal back extension and hamstring stretching exercises to get relief from pain. Exercises includes: back strengthening, bridging, slr, prone on elbow, prone hip extension, etc if she get pain while doing exercise please stop doing right away. Good luck. And live healthy and happy life.

For neck pain do neck exercise and keep your sitting posture comfortable while working and I will suggest you to start taking tablet folvite once a day for six months for your immunity.

Yes you can recover but it tks tym dear. Atleast 3mnths of pain Nd a year to recover frm internal weakness. Take giloy water daily 1/2glass. Turmeric in milk. Have Tulsi leaves boiled in water. Also kiwi fruit. Nd do light exes.

You shall use cervical collar which would help you to reduce the radiating pain and also that would improve the cervical angle and improve the anatomical posture. The pain actually triggers due to nerve compression and that would definitely improve by wearing a cervical collar. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired that can also be reason to have frequent pain in the whole body especially in the back bone. Once the oxygen levels in the blood comes down it automatically leads to improper functioning of the joints and muscles. It is also due to vacuum created in the joints as once the body lacks oxygen automatically the body becomes arid and that is one reason to get frequent pain the body ie. back bone. The hip muscles become tired thereby straining in a day with any physical activity might lead to back bone pain.. And also wear MCR chappals which will help you to prevent the weight falling on the hip while standing.
