Hi, try curing it by exercises and medications, if it keeps recurring, then surgery is a good solution, you have to judge how much your lifestyle and work is getting affected, and accordingly take a decision, send me the mri scan images for me to take a look.

Backache in young age is commonly due to 1. Muscle strain resulting from improper posture. 2. Intervertebral disc bulge or prolapse. In your case since the problem is present since 2 years so you need detailed evaluation to find out the pain generator. Sit with straight back and change posture in between. Do not hunch and feet should rest on floor while seated. 2. Take breaks in between work and walk. 3. I suggest you follow the below for your condition: take mag phos 6x - thrice daily for next 2 weeks and update. Also do x-ray of the affected area. Heat and ice packs. Heat and/or cold therapy helps relieve most types of low back pain by reducing inflammation. Often patients use ice, but some prefer heat. Both may be used alternately.

You may be able to avoid back pain or prevent its recurrence by improving your physical condition and learning and practicing proper body mechanics.

To keep your back healthy and strong:

Exercise. Regular low-impact aerobic activities — those that don't strain or jolt your back — can increase strength and endurance in your back and allow your muscles to function better. Walking and swimming are good choices. Talk with your doctor about which activities are best for you.Build muscle strength and flexibility.Abdominal and back muscle exercises (core-strengthening exercises) help condition these muscles so that they work together like a natural corset for your back. Flexibility in your hips and upper legs aligns your pelvic bones to improve how your back feels. Your doctor or physical therapist can tell which exercises are right for you.Maintain a healthy weight. Being overweight strains back muscles. If you're overweight, trimming down can prevent back pain.

Use proper body mechanics:

Stand smart. Maintain a neutral pelvic position. If you must stand for long periods, place one foot on a low footstool to take some of the load off your lower back. Alternate feet. Good posture can reduce the stress on back muscles.Sit smart. Choose a seat with good lower back support, armrests and a swivel base. Consider placing a pillow or rolled towel in the small of your back to maintain its normal curve. Keep your knees and hips level. Change your position frequently, at least every half-hour.Lift smart. Avoid heavy lifting, if possible, but if you must lift something heavy, let your legs do the work. Keep your back straight — no twisting — and bend only at the knees. Hold the load close to your body. Find a lifting partner if the object is heavy or awkward.

Lybrate-user you seem to be suffering from a lumbar disc problem. It sounds as if you are having a nerve compression. I would advise you to get an mri done and come here again to consult with the reports. Till then avoid any pulling or pushing activities. Avoid forward bending and sudden jerky movements and do hot fomentation of your lower back and hip areas. Homoeopathy has some excellent medicines to relieve you off the pain.

Two glasses of milk contain around 14 gram of protein while the polyunsaturated fats in almond add those extra calories when included in the everyday diet. Crush a handful of almonds and add it to the boiling milk. Simmer it for five minutes. You can sweeten it with a tsp of sugar. Then, pour it in a glass and sip it slowly. To make it more effective, you may put in dates and dried figs in the boiling milk. Drink it twice daily for two months.

I am male 22. I am suffering from back pain from many days, the pain is allover the back middle, upper, shoulder blades. I also have pain on the lower part of the right rib but sometimes pain spreads to lower part of the left rib as well. I also feel that something is stuck in my throat. Few months back I was diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux disease. Sometimes I also feel chest pain, heartburn and acid via food pipe. Whenever I rest laying straight the pain increases and lastly the pain gets worse after eating something. I was wondering if all these symptoms including back and rib pain are because of GERD .please help.
