Hello Mr. lybrate-user! Although your blood sugar levels are not alarmingly high, nevertheless high blood sugar levels do have their detrimental effects on the body. The oral cavity (mouth) is not saved either! High blood sugar levels bring down the immunity of the body and minor and small infections also escalate causing a lot of problems. I strongly suggest you to keep your blood sugar levels under control and meet good physician who can help you with that. Oral Health can be kept optimum by timely visits to your dentists and taking his/her recommendations seriously and putting them into practise. A good dentist will always tell you about best practises and tips and tricks about keeping a good oral hygiene. Do not ignore small decays and never ignore gum disease, as these are especially more common in diabetics. Regarding a good toothpaste. Well there is no such thing as the best tooth paste. Any tooth paste is always as good as your brushing habits and techniques. Although I would suggest you to keep away from tooth pastes which have any type of abrasives in it, as long term use of these can be detrimental to the tooth structure. There you go. I hope this was of some help to you. Do take good care of your teeth! Thanks, Cheers.

Dear Lybrate user, if your teeth is slightly big than normal size you can reduce tooth size by treaming. But they are bigger than normal size you need RCT & caping of teeth. Because without RCT excess treaming of tooth results in thermal (hot & cold) sensation.

After a consultation from a doctor I was prescribed with few medicines and a tongue ointment and after using the medicines the spot was gone. 17 to 21 years is the age where you wisdom teeth erupts. So its common to have slight pain or discomfort associated with teething (eruption of teeth) if it is wisdom teeth pain, you can wait and see for few days so that pain subsides by itself, mean while you can take a course of pain killers for few days. If the pain does not subside or the pain is from the other teeth you can get a OPG (full mouth x-ray) done and consult a dentist at the earliest.

Hi im 24 years old girl and I want braces for my teeth is it possible at this age please suggest as its very embarrassing

MDS - Orthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Very much possible. Braces can be put at any age. If you want to skip the embarrassment, you can always opt for lingual (invisible/ hidden) braces.
