There are many causes of leg pain but you are described your pain as dull in nature On the other hand this can be just a leg cramp. Muscle cramps are extremely common, and nearly everyone experiences a cramp at some time in their life. Cramps are common in adults there are other causes which can cause cramps or pain in morning first is because of dehydration with low blood levels of calcium, magnesium, or potassium even Deficiencies of certain vitamins or minerals can cause pain including iron deficiency, thiamine (B1), pantothenic acid (B5), and pyridoxine (B6)

Mild compression at L5-S1 may or may not be the cause of your pain since 2011. There has to be other Biomechanical Cause behind your pain, hence your disc Problem need not be addressed because It's not always the cause of your pain, so there are other factors which needs to be scrutinized such as your Lumbar Curvature (one of the most vital reason to look for any anomalies which is one of the cause behind pain ), other factors like Spinal Muscle Tightness like Quadratus Lumborum, Multifidus, etc or weakness of Spinal Muscles or Pelvis Muscles can also lead to pain. Pelvis Rotation often called as Anterior Pelvic Tilt or Posterior Pelvis tilt, Sacral forward or backward Rotation can also lead to pain, which is most commonly seen in our daily clinical practice. Piriformis muscle tightness can also give rise to chronic pain when left unaddressed. Even your ankle joint anomaly or Calf muscle Tightness can also lead to low back pain. So as per the MRI report, the mild disc compression can be useless unless you go through a thorough examination under a skilled Orthopedic Physiotherapist. I hope you understood how a Low back Pain needs to looked at in order to find out the root cause behind your pain. Hope my suggestion helps. Feel free to connect for further evaluation. Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user JI. Nothing to worry about much. Generally spondilitis cases required prolonged treatment. You have not mentioned about your weight. Do meditation and Pranayama regularly with a little physiotherapy. Worrying does not solve the problem at the same time increases the issue. So meditation will help you lot. Read divine books and spend time with good friends. We prepare good medicines for this problem .But if you decide to take treatment for a minimum period of six months only you consult with me. If Diabetes and BP persists continue the treatment. Wishing you speedy recovery.

I suggest you follow the below for your condition: rest. Ceasing activity for a few days allows injured tissue and even nerve roots to begin to heal, which in turn will help relieve lower back pain. However, more than a few days of rest can lead to a weakening of the muscles, and weak muscles have to struggle to adequately support the spine. Patients who do not regularly exercise to build strength and flexibility are more likely to experience recurrent or prolonged lower back pain. Heat and ice packs. Heat and/or cold therapy helps relieve most types of low back pain by reducing inflammation. Often patients use ice, but some prefer heat. Both may be used alternately. For further queries get back to me.

Common Causes of Low Back Pain

Common Causes of Low Back Pain

POSTURAL CAUSES

The most common cause of low back pain is postural stress

  • Thus low back pain is frequently brought on by sitting for a long time in a poor position or prolonged bending in bad working positions heavy lifting and standing and lying for a long time in a poor position.  The low back is rounded and the lordosis has disappeared.
  • Unfortunately many people lose the lordosis much of the time and seldom or never increase it to its very maximum. If you reduce the lordosis for long periods at a time, year in, year out, and never properly restore it, you will eventually lose the ability to form the hollow.
  • It is known that a flattened low back is frequently associated with chronic low back problems. Most people naturally have a lordosis in the low back when they walk or run, and these activities often help to relieve low back pain.
  • When we are standing the lordosis is naturally present but in some individuals, when the standing posture is maintained for a long time, the lordosis can become excessive and pain will be produced of a different nature than that occurring during prolonged bending.
  • Of all these postural stresses the poor sitting posture is by far the one most commonly at fault. A poor sitting posture in itself may produce low back pain.
  •  Once low back problems have developed, a poor sitting posture will perpetuate or worsen those problems.Poor standing postures and poor lying postures are also frequent causes of back pain.
  • You may have already found that your back pain appears only if you stand for long periods or only after you get into bed. Pain that behaves in this way is frequently caused by poor posture alone. If this is the case, it is easily rectified.
  • Pain of postural origin will not occur if you avoid prolonged overstretching. Should pain develop, it is an almost certain indication that you have fallen into a poor position and immediate steps must be taken to correct your posture.
  • Once the nature of your postural problem has been identified and you become aware of the steps you must take to correct it, you should not have to seek assistance whenever postural pain arises.
