Hello. Are you gyming? Or using supplements provided by the gym? Or have lost kgs? Doing vigorous excercises is directly related to hairloss. Avoid it! Let me you about hairfall. We can divide hairfall into 2 types - temporary hairfall and permanent which is called 'Hairloss' rather and leads to bald areas of smooth and shiny surface. In temporary hairfall, hair grows back again from the same hair root, but in case of permanent hairloss, because of formation of DHT (Di- Hydro -Testosterone) around hair root it gets choked up which subsequently affects the blood supply to the hair and thus hair root is lost forever. Many factors are responsible formation of this DHT or hairloss- hereditary, post-illness/ ailment, post-delivery, post- chemotherapy, nutritional deficiencies, hormaonal imbalance, insufficient sleep, sudden loss of weight, stress/ tensions/ excessive anger any other underlying diseases, etc. Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs, pulses, legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnut and almonds), iron-rich food like green vegetables, also take flaxseeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smooking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Also, take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200/ twice a day for 1 month and revert me back.

Hi doctor, I want to join a gym for increase muscles and stamina. Please doctor suggest me a diet plan for that and one exercise chart for a week so that I can follow the chart. At present I am drinking milk with dry fruits (kishmish, kaju and badam) is it good for stamina and muscles building.

•Take the stairs instead of lift. •Get off the bus one stop earlier and walk the rest of the way. In the office •Stand up and stretch while talking on the phone. •Get colleagues to join in for a lunch time workout session. At home •Do some stretches or sit-ups during commercial breaks on TV. •Join kids at the playground after work. •Go for walks after dinner instead of always sitting around watching TV. Permanent Laser Hair Reduction- Is It for Me ?

It tickles your curiosity when you read or hear about permanent freedom from waxing and shaving by the use of Laser. To bridge the awareness gap, in this article i have tried to answer all the questions that people ask me before starting the laser sessions-

Q) Is it permanent hair reduction or removal ? 

A) Although the results achieved in most cases are excellent and satisfying, its a reduction in density and thickness of body hair that is stable for a long time. 

Q) Is laser the right option for me ?

A) Laser is a worthy option for you if anything on the list below bothers you-

  • Ingrown hair
  • Allergy- redness or red bumps after waxing.
  • Waxing gives smooth skin only for upto 3 days after which the hair starts growing out again, and you have to live with it till the next waxing session. 
  • You find waxing messy and painful
  • Inconvenience to take out time for waxing/shaving everytime you want to attend a social event.

Q) How does Laser hair removal work?

A) Pulses of highly concentrated light are emitted from the laser into the hair follicles. The pigment in the follicles absorbs the light and damages the hair roots.

Q) How many sessions are needed?

A) 6-8 sessions of Laser hair removal are needed, placed 1 month apart, which is the time required for dormant or sleeping hair to come to the growing phase of hair cycle, so that they can be attacked by the laser. 

Q) I am a little apprehensive of laser. What is the procedure? Is it painful ?

A) There is nothing to be scared of when you are getting laser done by a certified dermatologist or under their supervision, at a good center that has a US FDA Approved laser machine.

The procedure is-

  1. Treatment area will be shaven.
  2. You will be made to wear protective eye shield.
  3. Gel is applied and Laser is done- It feels like a rubber band being flicked against your skin multiple times. Some people experience it as heat.
  4. Slight redness may occur on the treated area for 30 minutes. Applying ice helps in faster recovery.

Q) What precautions are needed before and after Laser hair removal.

A)

  • Stop shaving, plucking, waxing the hair 6 weeks before Laser session
  • Limit sun exposure 6 weeks before and after laser session

Q) What are the side effects of laser?

A) Side effects are extremely rare if done by a trained doctor or therapist using a good machine. Redness, blistering, scarring may occur in rare circumstances, which can be managed by the dermatologist. 

Q) What is the cost of laser hair reduction ? I see a lot of offers and variations.

A) A full face laser at a certified clinic with a Good FDA approved machine will cost somewhere around 5000 Rs. Do not get wooed by very cheap prices unless you are very sure about the machine being used and results achieved. 

In comparision to the other modalities available, Laser is definitely a safer, long-lasting, cost saving, more affective and efficient option for getting rid of face and body hair.

I ate lots of cashews yesterday and realised today when I was gonna eat again that it got spoiled with lots of worms inside the cashews. I ate a lot of them and now I feel disgusting inside as I know I ate a lot of worms too. What should I do to avoid any problem.

Hello, well nothing is to be done if you are not feeling nausea as the worms would have been destroyed in the hydrochloric cid of the stomach and shall get digested. Just take a cup of curd after it.

Take zinc based supplement to improve your appetite and go for atleast 2 rounds of cleansing diet to flush out ant toxins present in your body.this means to eat only natural fruits and vegetables ,less of carbohydrates and oily foods .u can have plant based proteins but restrict animal proteins for some time. See your intestinal transit time by observing for colour change in the stools by eating beetroot or palak. This will help to know the absorption level of the nutrients in the body and then the diet can be increased

These are the methods to treat fastly acne - • Imbalance in hormone level causes excessive sebum production and causes acne. So do not take stress and do exercise daily such as running, jogging and long breathing exercises. • Do YOGASANA daily. Especially do SINHASANA & SARVANGASANA daily. • Use oil free face wash and drink 7 -8 glass of water daily. • Take Vitamin-A capsule of 25, 000 I. U. Daily for atleast 28 days only under the guidance of a doctor. • Do not touch your pimple because your finger transfer bacteria to it and make it worse. If you touch it then clean your face with water. • Take cucumber and papaya pulp. Mix it well and add 1 tablespoon Turmeric. Make a paste and apply it on face and leave it for 15 minutes. • Steam your face to open the pores, which in turn clear the skin. Steam your face for a couple of minutes. • Take 2 teaspoon of RAKTASHODAK SYRUP of BAIDYANATH company once a day.

Hello, diabetes is a metabolic disorder affecting carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism and both small and large blood vessels, with persistent hyperglycemia. In the long run it damages eyes (retina), nerves, kidney, heart and causing problems with lower limbs. It is caused because of either lack of insulin or resistance to its action (t2 dm) or total absence of insulin as in t1 dm. T2 diabetes is a preventable condition, by adapting modified life style one can prevent it. Modified life style means regular exercise, maintaining near normal weight, avoiding smoking and alcohol and eating a healthy diet.

If you are really willing to take protein supplement , better to choose whey protein and check for anabolic steroids ( in lung run can cause infertility ) , and percentage of heavy metals. If you are of 64 kg , your max. protein requirement will be 64 gm - 96gm / day ( even after heavy workouts ). For safer mode and high absorption rate devide the total protein intake into 4 parts and take larger part after half an hour of your workouts.

Dear Lybrate User, *Fennel seeds can give you relief from other indigestion symptoms like gas and bloating, too. •Add one teaspoon of crushed fennel seeds to a cup of hot water and let it steep for eight to 10 minutes. Remove from heat, allow it to cool and strain it. Add a little honey and drink it slowly.

You post-inflammatory hyperpigmented marks can be lightened, but can't treat pits with oral medicine. Wash your face with Bakson's Facewash (wash your face with warm water only) and followed by CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally Sunscreen Gel with SPF-30) after washing your face daily. Home-made remedies: - Take 1 tbsp of fuller's earth (multani mitti) + a dash of lime + bit of rosewater ? apply this on your face till it gets dried up, then rinse it off. - Take 1 tsp of Alum (or fitkari), make it slightly wet with water and apply this on your wet face, spread it well; let it dry and rinse it off. Alum remove your excessive moisture or oil and it also tightens the skin's tonicity. Medication: You can take homoeopathic medicines ? Berberis Aquefolium Q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice a day (and for local application as well) and Kali Brom. 200/ thrice a day ? for 20 days. Use Bakson's Apricot scrub at least once a week.

Hi, do meditation every morning . Take kali phos 6x, 5 tabs every night. you should do the following in order to get a proper sleep. *Set a schedule:-It is important to set a schedule for sleeping. Sleeping and waking according to a set schedule can help in overcoming insomnia. *Relaxation:-Make restful activities a part of your bedtime habits. Any activity such as a bath, reading, music etc. which relaxes you, make it a bedtime ritual. *Regular exercise:-Set a regular exercise schedule, and for maximum benefits exercise 5-6 hours before sleep time. *Avoid caffeine alcohol and nicotine:-Caffeine drinks e.g. coffee and tea should be avoided after evening hours.Alcohol and smoking before bedtime should be completely avoided.
