How to cure pain in right side (hand and leg} after chemotherapy in third stage breast cancer?

How to cure pain in right side (hand and leg} after chemotherapy in third stage breast cancer?
Chemotherapy induced neuropathy may cause pain in the distal extremities. Neuropathic pain usually occurs in the nature of tingling and numbness and may extend to severe burning sensation in extreme cases. Severity depends on chemotherapy drug used, number of cycles and other comorbid factors like diabetes. Share the details of chemotherapy drug used and blood reports for treatment.

My wife is diagnosed with metastasis and surgery is not carried. Should I consult other doctor? Please suggest me.

MCh(Minimally Invasive & Robotic Surgery), MS - Surgical, MBBS
General Surgeon, Guwahati
I am sorry to say that probably she has stage 4 disease without much hopeful. Still you can consult an Oncologist for need ful advice. What I feel is that, if there is not much hope, why to stretch the life to that extent where you can neither live peacefully nor die gracefully.

I would advice to stop Ayurveda. This actually worsens the condition. Secondly you need to show first. If it's possible to come to Mumbai, we can see and then decide further course of action.

Pregnancy will change lot of things in the body starting from emotional behavior to physical changes. Due to hormonal changes breast become tender. After abortion these changes won't go immediately. It will take time sometimes a month or two but not more than 6 months.

Main factor is your age n family history of same. U should write first age when ever you question to a doctor. Any how it seems you r younger or middle aged. Do FNAC OF lesion n usg both breast. Then consult me. Do not worry. Its maximum possibility is benign lesion. Fibroadenoma n axillary breast or lipoma. Thanks.

Hello sir. I am 25 year old. I am a student. I had used tobacco products from last 10years. Now I want to quite this. But I am unable to do this. I am getting afraid that may be I get caught by cancer. Suggest me what should I do. I also unable to concentrate on my studies.

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
Dear sir, it's really surprising that from age of 15 yrs you have been consuming tobacco. It's high time, you must quit. Tobacco has addictive tendency, so first you have to be determined, make up your mind and stay away from such places or people who distribute this. You can use nicotine gums or patches to kill the urge for time being. You can use alternative chewing materials like sauf, clove or mouth freshners to keep your mouth engaged. I have seen that determination and willing ness to quit is the best way to quit. Life is very precious, save it.

I suffer from hernia, enlarged prostate, blood pressure, colastorate. Blood pressure and colastorate are in control as I take medicine regularly. Enlarged prostate (bph) is also in control as I take dutas t regularly. May I go in for operation hernia without operating enlarged prostate.

F.mas,D.mas, MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Chennai
Hi. Thanks for the opportunity to help you. From your description you are having bph and inguinal hernia. As your blood pressure and cholesterol is under control, I would suggest you to undergo both the operations in same sitting. The ideal scenario should be turp followed by open/laparoscopic hernia repair. Turp to be done by urologist followed by lap/open hernia repair as per the operating surgeon's expertise. It is essential to do a turp first as straining while passing urine predisposes to hernia formation. If hernia is repaired without turp then after surgery you might strain due to bph and you might get a recurrent hernia due to straining and again might be subjected to unnecessery surgery, post-op pain morbidity etc. If it is an uncomplicated small, reducible inguinal hernia, turp followed by laparoscopic repair in the same sitting will be ideal. However if it is a large irreducible hernia turp followed by open repair will be ideal laparoscopic repair has a distinct advantage of less post-operative pain, less intraop blood loss, short post op pain and small surgical scar and rapid healing of skin wound. Lap scar will be 1cm in comparison to 7 to 8 cm painful scar of open hernioplasty hope the consultation was beneficial regards.
