Role of Homeopathy in Treating Type II Diabetes

MD - Homeopathy, BHMS

Role of Homeopathy in Treating Type II Diabetes

Type II Diabetes is also known as Non-Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (NIDDM) or Adult-onset Diabetes. Diabetes mellitus is a syndrome characterized by increased level of sugar (glucose) in the blood due to deficiency or inactivity of hormone 'Insulin' that is absolutely necessary to monitor glucose metabolism of body. This is a metabolic disorder that is primarily characterized by insulin resistance, relative insulin deficiency and consecutively hyperglycemia. Diabetes is prevalent worldwide and if not attended properly, it may lead to serious complications.

Causes of Type II Diabetes:

Diabetes basically occurs due to defective insulin secretion combined with defective responsiveness of the body to the insulin (also called Insulin resistance). Due to both these factors, hyperglycemia starts occurring in the body. It is strongly associated with obesity and with increasing age. A strong inheritance pattern has been noted in cases of type 2 diabetes. Sedentary lifestyle, pregnancy, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, etc pose as risk factors for developing Diabetes.

Type 2 diabetes can begin at any age though it is not very common in childhood. It usually begins with insulin resistance, a condition in which the body does not use insulin properly. At first, the pancreas keeps up with the added demand by producing more insulin but later it loses the ability to secrete enough insulin in response to meals. This ultimately results in Hyperglycemia (high levels of glucose in circulation).

Homeopathic Treatment for Type II Diabetes:

Diabetes is a constitutional disorder as it is an offshoot of constitutional defects (genetic factors, altered immunity) having an impact on the entire constitution of an individual. Hence it calls for an in-depth constitutional approach for its management.

Homeopathy is based on the principle that disease is a total affliction of body. Moreover homeopathy recognizes importance of the underlying causes such as genetic and inherited factors as the root of any ailment of the body. Homeopathic medicines prescribed on such criteria plays a crucial role in management of many deep-rooted, chronic, difficult diseases; one amongst them being Diabetes.

When we talk about diseases like diabetes, we talk in terms of management rather than cure. Homeopathic treatment along with intake of hypoglycemic drugs and/or insulin can prevent the progress and the complications associated with this condition. Moreover timely administered homeopathic medicines help in maintaining the levels of exogenous insulin and hypoglycemic drugs at minimum possible dosage and in preventing the further progress of the disease. However, it may be noted that there is no substitute to insulin in homeopathy. The role of a healthy diet and exercise cannot be underestimated along with all the above treatment measures.

Parkinson's disease-KAMPAVATA (A Neurological Disorder) Parkinson's disease is a neurological disease, or brain disorder, that leads to progressive difficulty with balance and coordination. In people who have Parkinson's disease, nerve cells in a region of the brain known as the substantia nigra become damaged or die. These cells are important because they produce the chemical dopamine, which helps to coordinate body movement-basal ganglia. When dopamine-producing cells degenerate/die, the areas in the brain that control movement can no longer function properly, and symptoms of Parkinson's disease eventually develop. Parkinson? S Disease Prevalence:- Parkinson's disease can affect anyone, but it most often occurs in people who are over the age of 50. Only 15 percent of Parkinson's disease patients are diagnosed before they are 50 years old. The prevalence of Parkinson's disease is nearly the same in both men and women, and recovery rate is more in men. People with a family history of Parkinson's may have a higher risk of developing the disease, but Parkinson's disease is rarely attributed to genetics alone. Parkinson's Disease Symptoms Symptoms of Parkinson's disease usually develop after about 80 percent of the brain's dopamine-producing cells are lost. The Main symptoms of Parkinson's disease include? Tremors (Kampam)- Tremulousness (uncontrolled shaking or trembling) of the hands, arms, legs, face, body is often one of the first indicators of Parkinson's disease? Rigidity. Profound stiffness or an inability to easily move the arms, legs, and trunk, pain and stiffness on neck muscles is another hallmark of Parkinson's? Bradykinesia:- describes the unnaturally slow movements that are characteristic of people with Parkinson's disease? Poor balance- Parkinson's disease affects balance, leading to difficulty walking and impaired coordination. The symptoms of Parkinson's are generally mild at first, but become more severe over time, until they eventually interfere with your daily routine. This is usually the point when treatment is recommended. The Outlook for People with Parkinson's disease Parkinson's disease is a chronic, progressive condition, which means it is a lifelong disease that worsens over time when it is not treated properly. Each individual's situation is different, but in general, the first symptoms of Parkinson's disease usually don't require treatment and may be restricted to one area or one side of the body. Movement of symptoms to the other side of the body? Tremors that become more pronounced and interfere with activities? Bradykinesia, or slow movement, that becomes disabling? Difficulty with hand writing? Impaired swallowing and chewing? Speech that becomes monotone? Poor balance and repeated falls? Slow, shuffling gait (manner of walking? Stooped posture? Facial expressions that become stiff and blank? Chronic constipation? Poor bladder control? Sleep disturbances This progression is gradual in most people, but it may happen faster in some than others. Understandably, stress caused by the progression of the disease can lead to anxiety and depression. Ayurveda Treatment: There is cure for Parkinson's disease with Ayurveda treatment, With Ayurveda medicines and treatments we can relieve symptoms, slow down the progression and then we can completely arrest further degeneration of the of the cells, thereby we can completely control and cure the disease. If you are diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, it is important to work closely with your medical team, so your medications can be regularly adjusted to help you remain as functional as possible for as long as possible. As far as Parkinson's disease is concerned this is a brain related issue, so will surely effect the mind; so I recommend 49% treatment to patients and 51% treatment to family members.

Hi Revanth ! Falling after getting up from bed is usually due to postural hypotensiom i.e. sudden fall in blood-pressure due to posture changing from lying position to standing. This ia pretty frequent. Pl get your B.P. monitoring done i.e. B.P. checked every morning and evening (twice daily) for one week. By this we'll get an average B.P. and decide future course of action. Pl remember to sit n relax for at least 10 min before getting your B.P. checked. Also, if possible get your B.P. checked immediately from lying to sitting position in a Doctor's chamber. Your isaue is likely to be diagnosed. For now, dont get up too quickly. Take some time to sit from lying position, before getting up.

General Physician,
Sunburn: first aid

Signs and symptoms of sunburn usually appear within a few hours of exposure, bringing pain, redness, swelling and, in some cases, blistering. Because a sunburn may affect much of your skin, you may also experience a headache, a fever and nausea.

If you have a sunburn

Take a cool bath or shower, which may be soothing. Or apply a clean towel dampened with cool tap water.
Apply moisturizer, aloe vera lotion or gel, or low-dose hydrocortisone cream, which may provide relief in some cases.
Don't break small blisters (no bigger than your little fingernail). If blisters break, gently clean the area with mild soap and water, apply an antibiotic ointment, and cover it with a nonstick gauze bandage.
If needed, take an over-the-counter pain reliever such as ibuprofen (advil, motrin ib, others), naproxen sodium (aleve) or acetaminophen (tylenol, others).
See your doctor if you develop large blisters. Large blisters are best removed, as they rarely will remain intact on their own. Also seek medical help if you experience immediate complications, such as extreme pain, headache, confusion, nausea or chills.

5 Reasons You Will See Blood in Urine

5 Reasons You Will See Blood in Urine

5 Reasons You Will See Blood in Urine

The condition in which blood appears in the urine is known as hematuria. The loss of blood in this condition could be gross or microscopic depending on the cause of the condition. There are several causes why blood may appear in the urine. Whatever the cause may be, hematuria is mostly indicative of a serious medical condition.

Here are 5 reasons that cause blood to appear in the urine.

1.Infection

Infections like urethritis, pyelonephritis, cystitis or infection in any other body organ along the urinary tract is one of the most common causes of hematuria. Such bacterial infection in the urethra can also infect the kidneys and the urinary bladder. It results in the urge to urinate frequently and also causes blood to appear in the urine.

2. Kidney stones and bladder stones

Another reason that can cause blood to appear in the urine is the presence of stones in the kidney or bladder. These stones are crystallized minerals that are formed in the kidney or the bladder but fail to pass through the urinary tract. They cause blockage and pain and result in hematuria.

3. An enlarged prostate

An enlarged prostate is a common cause of appearance of blood in the urine in men who are in their middle ages or older. Enlargement of the prostate gland causes the urethra to be compressed. This prevents the urethra from getting fully emptied while urination.

4. Polycystic Kidney Disease

PKD is a kidney disorder in which cysts filled with fluid form in the kidneys and impair the kidneys, causing them to fail entirely at times. It is an inherited disease and causes blood to appear in the urine.

In children who are between 6-10 years of age, kidney disorder after streptococcal glomerulonephritis can be a possible cause of hematuria.

5. Cancer

A cancerous kidney, bladder or prostate gland can also cause blood to appear in the urine. It is another major cause of hematuria but usually occurs in older patients.

Opt for low-fat foods. Increase your fluid intake - drink plenty of water, fruit or vegetable juice, derived from carrot, spinach, beet and cucumber. Drink two cups of green tea (without milk and sugar), 20 minutes before meal-time to improve digestion. Avoid or limit eating cabbage and broccoli; they may trigger ‘gas’ problems. Avoid alcohol, colas, soda, tea, coffee, hot and spicy food, chewing gum, and allopathic drugs, such as aspirin, or pain killers; they can irritate your stomach lining (gastric mucosa) and cause gastric distress. Eat nutrition-rich, small, light and frequent mealsAvoid alcohol and quit smoking. Take effective steps to control your stress by way of yoga, meditation, music, visualisation and other relaxation techniques. homeopathy works best.Follow-up with homeopathic doctor on a regular basis. you can consult Me for homoeopathic treatment.

Guide to Choosing Incontinence Products for Men!

MD - General Medicine
Sexologist, Delhi
Guide to Choosing Incontinence Products for Men!

Identify Your Needs

Anyone who needs incontinence products has a unique condition to deal with. It could be bed-wetting at night. Others have fecal incontinence. The severity of incontinence also differs. There are severe cases where the user would need a higher degree of absorbency from the incontinence products they choose. In other cases, it could be mild, meaning that a less absorbent diaper would work.

The ability of the user to take care of his or her self also matters. Some users can stand upright while others may be bed ridden. When shopping for incontinence products for men, the buyer would need to locate a product that is convenient for both the user as well as a caregiver to put on. It should be easy to strap regardless of the positioning and condition of the user.

Quality

We can judge the quality of incontinence products by their ability to meet ones expectations of restoring dignity to the person suffering from incontinence who uses them. The best product is one that absorbs incontinence upto the level that the manufacturer mentions in the manual. For instance, if the manual indicates that it can absorb 9 oz, it should perform to that level.

The type of fabric also determines the quality of the incontinence product. The best fabric is one that is soft and tender to the touch. It should not irritate or react with the user's skin. The wearer should be very comfortable wearing the diapers for an entire day. Comfort also means allowing free movement without lacerations. It must display the capacity to hold as much incontinence as possible.

Customers, who need to determine the exact quality of an incontinence product for men, could check reviews or feedback that other customers leave. They can scout for different brands and investigate what users say about the product they are researching. If many of the buyers give a positive word about a brand, they can expect excellent service from it. If most of the previous owners think that a product is of a lower quality, them someone looking to buy them now should expect the same poor performance from that product.

Reusable or disposable

Male Incontinence products come in two varieties. Some are disposable while others are reusable. Disposable incontinence products are designed for single use. They provide certain advantages that include saving the caregiver from handling soiled diapers. This makes it easier to provide care and makes the experience of the person receiving care a comfortable one. They are available for a lower price when compared to reusable diapers. Such diapers are highly customized with advanced technology that makes them more comfortable and effective to use.

Reusable incontinence products for men are made of a more durable cloth. In order to use them again, the user or caregiver would need to wash them once they are soiled. However, this presents a challenge that the user or caregiver would need to overcome. Reusable incontinence products are also more likely to malfunction due to damage caused by the washing process. This damage could cause the product to malfunction and leak, soiling the cloths or beddings or the user.

Size

When buying incontinence products for men, knowing the size that would fit the wearer is of paramount importance. Although a customer may buy the highest quality available in the market, they would be disappointed if the size is not right. A small size, subjects the user to leakage due to insufficient cover or breakage of straps. A large diaper will also leave some areas exposed that could cause a leakage.

When buying incontinence products for the first time, it is advisable that you use a string or tape to measure the exact size of the user's waist. Having the user accompany you when you are buying the diaper, makes it easier since you can take measurements and locate the perfect size. However, if you are skeptical about which size to buy, it is advisable that you purchase smaller quantities until you have determined the perfect size. Watch out for changes in the body size over time. You should make a provision for movement irrespective of whether the user lies down or is mobile.

Price

This is one of the most confusing elements when buying incontinence products. Everyone wants the cheapest adult incontinence supplies. However, focusing on the price could be misleading and could cause regrets due to poor performance. The only point at which a customer should opt to buy cheaper diapers is when they have verified that the quality of the brand they are buying, is similar to the costlier they are drawing a comparison with.

However, there are other ways to get affordable urinary incontinence products while avoiding spending too much money. Reusable diapers are cheaper in the long run but you have to spend more at the beginning. You may also buy subsidized products from certain stores, depending on the condition and status of the user. If you buy incontinence products in bulk, you will get a better price. The option of buying in bulk when an offer or promotion is available also allows the customer to get quality products at a lower price.

Unisex, Male or Female

The market has numerous types of incontinence products. Some are designed specifically for men while others are for women. Unisex diapers are also available. The features incorporated in each type of product differ. Therefore, the customer should ensure that they get the right diapers for men. They fit in cases where the users only experience mild incontinence and therefore do not require a lot of attention.

The best incontinence products for men are those that fit perfectly and enable the user to experience dignity and comfort. Read reviews or get a referral from a person who is already using these products. To guarantee protection, you must know the exact size of the diaper that the wearer uses. Although the price is important, it should not take prominence over quality. The comfort and dignity of the user are paramount.
