I am 50 yrs of age. Now my blood pressure is 120/80. intake olmy a tablet one every day. Please suggest me what foods...
Hypertension Diet Drugs do not remove the cause, nor do they cure the condition. All drugs against hypertension without exception, are toxic and have distressing side-effects. The fast way to cure hypertension is to eliminate the poisons from the system, which cause it. Persons with high blood pressure should always follow a well-balanced routine of proper diet, exercise and rest. Meat and eggs cause blood pressure to rise more than any other food. The pressure is lowered and blood clotting diminished by taking a diet with a higher fruit content, lower protein and non-flesh diet. A natural diet consisting of fresh fruits and vegetables, instead of a traditional diet, is helpful in getting rid of the poisons from the body. A hypertension patient should start the process of healing by living on an all¬ fruit diet for at least a week, and take fruits at five-hourly intervals, thrice a day. He should take juicy fruits such as oranges, apples, pears, mangoes, guavas, pineapples and grapes. Milk may be taken after a week of a diet of fruits only. The milk should be fresh and boiled only once. The patient can be permitted cereals in the diet after two weeks. Vegetables are also good for a patient of hypertension. They should preferably be taken raw. If they are cooked, it could be ensured that their natural goodness is not destroyed in the process of cooking. Vegetables like cucumber, carrot, tomato, onion, radish, cabbage and spinach are best taken in their raw form. They may be cut into small pieces and sprinkled with a little salt and the juice of a lemon added to them so as to make them more palatable. The intake of salt should be restricted; in any case it should not be taken more than four grams or half a teaspoon per day. Baking powder containing sodium carbonate should also be avoided. Garlic is regarded as one of the most effective remedies to lower blood pressure. The pressure and tension are reduced because it has the power to ease the spasm of the small arteries. Garlic also slows the pulse and modifies the heart rhythm besides relieving the symptoms of dizziness Numbness shortness of breath and the formation of gas within the digestive tract. The average dosage •should be two to three capsules a day to make a dent in the blood pressure. There I an important relation between dietary calcium and potassium and hypertension. It is found that people who take potassium rich diets have a low incidence of hypertension even it they do not control their salt-intake. They have also found that people with hypertension do not seem to get much calcium in the form of dairy products. The two essentia1 nutrients seem to' help the body throw off excess sodium and are involved in important functions which control the working of the vascular system. Potassium is found in abundance in fruits and vegetables and calcium in dairy products. The patient of hypertension should follow a plan of a well-balanced diet in which the constituents of food should be approximately in the following proportion: carbohydrate twenty per cent protein ten to fifteen percent fat five per cent and fruits and vegetables sixty to sixty-five per cent. In this plan one main meal should be based on raw foods while the second main meal may consist of cooked foods. Meals should be taken slowly and in a relaxed atmosphere. Food should be well masticated as the process of digestion begins in the mouth. The dinner should not normally be taken late. TREATMENT CHART FOR HYPERTENSION A - DIET I. Juice diet for 5 days. Use warm water enema daily during this period. II. All-fruit diet for further 5 days, with three meals a day at five-hourly intervals. III. Thereafter, adopt the following diet: - 1. Early Morning: A glass of lukewarm water mixed with the juice of half a lime. 2. Breakfast: Fruits and skimmed milk. 3. Mid-morning: Coconut water. 4. Lunch: Steamed vegetables, whole-wheat wheat tortilla or brown rice and a glass of buttermilk. 5. Mid-afternoon: A glass of carrot juice or orange juice. 6. Dinner: Salad of raw vegetables, green gram sprouts and vegetable soup. AVOID: Meats, sugar, white flour, tea, coffee, condiments, pickles fried foods, and products made from sugar and white flour. Important: Restrict the intake of salt and use liberally garlic and indian gooseberry. B - OTHER MEASURES 1. Exercise, especially brisk walking and yoga asanas like pavanmuktasana, uttanpadasana and shavasana. 2. Hot foot immersion in case of high blood pressure accompanied with headache.

Greetings, you require good protein supplements and balanced diet. Also you need to take at least 8 glasses of water in a day. Apply good oil to avoid dryness of the hair. Take a good multivitamin supplement also. You also need to see a hair specialist, to rule out any hair or scalp disease. Thanks.

I am 17 years old and I used many oil and shampoo for hair but it is not work my hair is so thin and dry what should ...
There is no single cause of dry hair. Rather, a variety of factors can lead to dry hair, including environmental conditions, hair care habits, and your physical health. Environmental conditions that may cause dry hair include: living in a dry, hot climate spending a lot of time in the sun frequently swimming in chlorinated water Certain hair-care practices also contribute to dry hair. These include washing your hair too often, using harsh shampoos and conditioners, getting frequent chemical treatments, blow-drying your hair daily, and using electric curling irons or straighteners. In some cases, dry hair is the result of a health problem that makes it difficult for your hair to retain moisture. The following health conditions can dry out your hair. Dry and thin hair may be due to hormonal imbalance. So first get a thyroid profile test done. Several at-home techniques can help improve your dry hair. Heat and sun exposure are common causes of dry hair. If you live in a dry, humidity-free climate, always protect your hair before going outdoors. Wear a hat and avoid long-term exposure to dry or windy air. You can also protect your hair by wearing a cap when swimming in the pool or ocean, since salt water and chlorine can easily damage your hair. If you suspect that your grooming habits are causing your dry hair, a few tips can help undo the damage and restore your hair’s moisture and luster. You should: avoid daily shampooing use a protein-enriched conditioner to repair hair damage blow-dry your hair less frequently avoid heated styling products, such as flat irons, curling irons, and electric rollers condition your hair every time you wash it use a shampoo and conditioner that are meant for your hair type; there are hair products specifically formulated for chemically treated hair Daily shampooing can rob your hair of its protective oils and cause dryness. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, your scalp makes less oil as you age, so you do not need to wash your hair as frequently. Chemical hair treatments and dyeing can also dry out your hair, making less frequent washing a better choice. Try washing your hair once or twice a week to retain more moisture. You can also apply hair oils or leave-in conditioners to add luster and softness. If a medical problem is causing your dry hair, your hair may improve once you treat the underlying condition. You can take homoeopathic medicine for that.

6 Reasons to Go for Pre-Marital Counselling

6 Reasons to Go for Pre-Marital Counselling

6 Reasons Pre-marital Counselling is Crucial for Indian Couples

A study published in the Journal of Family Psychology reveals that couples who opt for pre-marital counselling experience higher levels of conjugal satisfaction than couples who don’t go for it. Moreover, these couples, experience a 30% drop in the possibility of divorce over a 5-year period.

Pre-marital counselling is a wise choice as it can help you and your partner to better understand the dynamics of your relationship and build the foundation of a happy future together.

A pre-marital counselling helps you with the following factors-

  1. Hygiene: Apart from stressing on the importance of personal health and hygiene, you would also hear a gynaecologist, emphasizing on the significance of sexual hygiene for a problem-free married life. While preventing infections that may affect your reproductive system, maintaining sexual hygiene can also significantly elevate the overall hygiene levels of your entire body.
  2. Sex: Pre-marital sex counselling is essential as it helps to fill in the gaps in your knowledge of sex. During your consultation with a gynaecologist, you can expect to receive information about the male and female anatomy as well as about the actual act. Even thoughts like “sex can be painful” get addressed during the counselling.
  3. Contraceptives: Counselling sessions with a gynaecologist can also help you in getting your facts right about pregnancy. He or she could guide you on how to work out safe and unsafe days to have sex; talk to you about contraceptive methods; and best family planning practices.
  4. Folic acid for pregnancy: During a counselling session, you can expect to be encouraged by a gynaecologist to have Vitamin B (folic acid) before and during your pregnancy to avert birth defects in the brain and spinal cord of your potential offspring.
  5. Vaccines: Opting for a counselling session before marriage can help you to learn about vaccines that will protect you against cervical cancer (cancer of the cervix caused mainly by HPV- a virus) and rubella (a disease caused by the rubella virus, which can cause miscarriage, birth defects and stillbirth).
  6. Medical investigations: You should also expect investigations based on the following tests-
    • Complete blood count test: The aim of this test is to assess your overall health and identify a range of disorders such as anaemia, leukaemia, and infection to name a few.
    • Fasting/blood sugar test: The test is performed to diagnose diabetes.  A fasting blood glucose level of less than 100mg/dl is considered normal.
    • Thyroid stimulating hormone test: This test is taken to check for problems in the thyroid gland.
    • Rubella test: It is used to identify antibodies that are formed in the blood, as a result of immunisation or the rubella infection.
    • HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography): The test is performed to determine Thalassemia.
    • Urine microscopy: The test helps in determining the condition of your urinary tract and kidney. It identifies injury, presence of disease or inflammation of these areas. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a psychologist.
