Aloe Vera juice is very effective to stop hair loss. Pure aloe gel can be applied directly to the scalp. This is helpful for preventing hair loss due to irritated, dry or infected scalp. Aloe Vera balances the pH level of scalp. After massaging the head with aloe gel, wait for few hours and then wash the hair with lukewarm water. You should do this twice a week for best results.

Greeting. Lots of people say that we should not eat fish and chicken together. Why we should not eat fish and chicken together.

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science

Greeting. Lots of people say that we should not eat fish and chicken together. Why we should not eat fish and chicken...
Hye. Fish and chicken are both protein rich foods. Ideally you do not need to indulge in too much proteins in one meal. Also both the meats digest differently. So, at times it may cause indigestion. Chicken is more complex than chicken when it comes to digestion. Always try to stick to a single source of protein on most days and keep your meal simple.

Brow Lifts: Post-Surgical Care And Recovery!

MBBS, M.Ch - Plastic Surgery
Cosmetic/Plastic Surgeon, Ahmedabad
Brow Lifts: Post-Surgical Care And Recovery!

A brow lift is also known as a forehead lift, is a surgical cosmetic procedure that corrects flaws in the skin above the eyes. It flattens the lines and wrinkles on the skin, tightens the sagging skin that appears to advance in age and restores youthful skin. More and more people are undergoing the treatment every year with a high rate of success.

Features that can be corrected with brow lifts:

  1. Sagging and horizontal eyebrows that create an expression of exhaustion
  2. Deep horizontal folds on the forehead skin
  3. Excess fatty skin that droops over the eyelids
  4. Frown lines between the eyebrows

Types of brow lift and the respective procedures

  1. Traditional or coronal brow lift: The patient is put under general anesthesia and an incision is made on the forehead, just below the hairline to hide the scar. The excess skin is removed and the necessary skin tissues are lifted and tightened for a smooth appearance. Finally, the incision is stitched up.
  2. Endoscopic brow lift: This surgery is also done under general anesthesia, but a number of tiny incisions are made on the scalp. An endoscope is put in through the incisions so that the area of surgery is seen on a computer screen. Other surgical instruments are used to lift the skin tissue on the forehead, reposition the eyebrows and remove all the extra skin and muscle tissue. Then, the incisions are closed with stitches. Now-a-days endoscopic brow lift is undertaken requring specific instrument and training.
  3. Temporal incision brow lift: This procedure is done with eyelid surgery. It requires larger incisions than those of endoscopic brow lift and these cuts are made just above the temples. Then the tissues above the eyebrows are repositioned, extra tissues between the eyebrows are also removed to flatten the frown lines.

Post-surgical care and recovery

  1. You have to stop smoking and taking anti-inflammatory or blood thinning medication for a few weeks before and after the surgery.
  2. Using a cold compress is recommended in case of post-surgical pain. There may also be prescribed ointments that are applied at the cut.
  3. Your head needs to be kept elevated when lying down for a few days.
  4. You should have gauze and clean towels readily available in case of minor bleeding.
  5. You may also experience slight swelling and bruising on the non-operated areas of the face. The pain and itching sensations experienced during recovery are milder in case of traditional brow lift than in case of endoscopic brow lift.

Hairfall homoepathic treatment
Hair loss is one of the most common problems faced by people across the globe. Most of us dread the thought of breaking endless hair strands each time we comb or brush. With the winter season setting in, dandruff problems go up, as the scalp gets dry, further aggravating hair loss in most people. If you love your hair, like I do, I am sure you must have tried every possible way of preventing hair loss. If you still haven’t seen any satisfactory results, switch to homeopathy. Homeopathy is a form of medicine which mainly aims at triggering the healing process in one’s body. Homeopathy offers quite a few medicines for treating hair loss.Consult for homeopathic treatment

Since you showed considerable improvement with above medications it is advisable that you donot alter doses or stop or skip medications at your wish. Consult your treating physician or me online for a gradual reduction in number and doses of medications. This would ensure continued improvement and reduce chances of relapse in future.

After 50 plus age generally females have hormonal changes due to which they have a complain of knee pain, back pain etc. There may be many reasons for knee pain like arthritis because its very common at this age or there may be vit or uric acid deficiency which is also common nowadays. So in general I would advise you to please go for her proper investigation so that the reason can be diagnosed. In the mean time to get relief from pain and stiffness please follow the physio measures: precautions- 1. Avoid prolong standing. Standing on one leg or running for time being if its painful. 2. Take care while bending your knees, it should not directly strain your joint. 3. Avoid heavy weight lifting. 4. Wear shoes with good arch support, do not wear high -healed shoes. 5. Use the correct positions during activities so that you do not strain your muscles. 6. Try to change your sitting position every 15 min so that it should not give strain on your knees. 7. Avoid sitting on floor with both knees bending. 8. Take diet rich in calcium like milk, dairy products, banana etc which will enhance your calcium and gives you strength. Treatment - 1. Use of cold or hot packs which ever suits you - apply ice or hot pack to the painful area and massage for near about 10 minutes. Make a habit for doing atleast twice a day initially. 2. After this using your thumb massage your knee area gently. 3. Do some knee (quads) isometrics atleast 10-15 times with the hold of 5 -10 seconds. Also you can do some knee strengthening in the mean time. The above treatment will give her pain relief and discomfort. In the meantime please contact any physio who will study her daily routine, symptoms etc and check the reason if there is any arthritis or any other discorde and then accordingly will give her the best treatment plan. Good luck and get well soon.

I'm suffering from red pimples which cause so much irritation to me. So please give a quick reply to get rid of it.
Follow the tips:: 1.Mix equal proportions of Fuller’s earth (multani mitti), rose water, and sandalwood powder.Apply this mud pack to your face,Wash after it dries up.Repeat the process once a week. 2.Rinse your face with water and pat it dry. Crush up mint leaves thoroughly, you can use a blender but a mortar and pestle works quite well if you happen to have one lying around. Rub the juice and crushed leaves on your face and leave for 5-10 minutes before rinsing off thoroughly with cold water. 3. Avoid oily spicy and junk food, tea, coffee, aerated drinks. 4. Drink plenty of fluids and water. 5.Avoid constipation. 6. Take 2 tab kishor guggul twice a day with water/ 15 days.
