Daily oiling is not required as our scalp produces oil (sebum) which is sufficient to nourish scalp and hairs. So daily oiling is not required. Daily washing hair with plain water is okay but daily hair wash with shampoo dries the scalp hairs leads to loss of hair proteins making hair weak and frigle.

I try many medical treatment.
Take homeopathic medicine acid phos 1m/single dose (5 drops in little water) and revert after 2 weeks. Apply jaborandi hair oil. Also use arnica shampoo. Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily. Eat healthy and balanced food like pulses, green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits and nuts etc. Add more vitamin rich food to your diet. Avoid stress and anger by meditation. Cut down the use of hair spray, hair gel. Take sound/good sleep. Avoid too much exposure of your hair to sunlight/ hair styling tools, as they damage hair and cause split ends.

Start taking black til (seasam) with a glass of lukewarm milk early morning. Avoid pickles, spices, oily, greesy food items, too much of salt in food shud be avoided. Start avle ka murabba daily. Also have a high protien rich diet e. G. Pulses, dry fruits, black gram, ground nut etc, white of egg (if you eat egg). Also oil your hair with good herbal oil and wash with herbal shamppoo - avoid shampoos with high acid contents. As far as ayurveda's therapy is concerned - start with shirodhara with herbal oil and nasyam therapy for atleast 15 days. This will greatly help. Do gentle massage with herbal hair oil daily night for 15 minutes.

Hair loss, also known as alopecia orbaldness, refers to a loss of hair from the head or body. Baldness can refer to general hair loss or male pattern hair loss. Hair loss and hypotrichosis have many causes including androgenetic alopecia, fungal infection, trauma (e. G. Due to (trichotillomania), radiotherapy, chemotherapy, nutritional deficiencies (e. The most common cause of alopecia is *Androgenetic alopecia (male-pattern or female-pattern hair loss) *Androgenetic alopecia is an androgen-dependent hereditary disorder in which dihydrotestosterone plays a major role. This form of alopecia may eventually affect up to 80% of white men by the age of 70 (male-pattern hair loss) and about half of all women (female-pattern hair loss). Other common causes of hair loss are *Drugs (including chemotherapeutic agents) *Infection (eg, tinea capitis, kerion, cellulitis of the scalp) *Systemic disorders (disorders that cause high fever, SLE, endocrine disorders, and nutritional deficiencies) *Alopecia areata Less common causes are primary hair shaft abnormalities, autoimmune diseases, heavy metal poisoning, and rare dermatologic conditions. Male or Female Pattern Baldness

MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy
Dermatologist, Bhubaneswar
Male or Female Pattern Baldness

One of the major problems with hair, especially as you age is the thinning of hair, which exposes the scalp, although it is regularly seen in younger people as well. The surprising thing is that baldness, which is primarily associated with men, can affect women as well.

Male pattern baldness: Male pattern baldness tends to occur in the form of receding hairline that can be accompanied by loss of hair on the top of the head as well as the back. Some of the reasons for male patterns baldness are:

  • Genetic factors such as baldness among the male members within the family
  • Androgen hormonal issues
  • Surgery or major illness which may trigger hormonal changes

Male pattern baldness doesn't only affect men and is known to affect women as well. It is just a type of pattern, which is prevalent more among men although women with high levels of androgen are also known to suffer from it.

Female pattern baldness: The female pattern of baldness is quite different from male pattern baldness. Female pattern baldness primarily spreads from the parting of the hair and then follows a widening pattern. It is not as severe as male pattern baldness where patches may start growing or bald spots may develop. However, the area around the crown may start showing the scalp due to severe thinning. Some of the causes for this could be age, especially in women after 40, hormonal imbalances within the body and some of the similar issues with male pattern baldness as mentioned above.

Treatment: The treatment for male and female pattern baldness tends to be similar in many cases, although certain specific treatments may be administered in other cases. Some of the common treatments include:

  1. Minoxidil solution of varying strengths
  2. Hair replacement or transplant in certain cases
  3. Spray or inked Cosmetics to cover up hair loss
  4. Oral medications to kick start hair growth
  5. Hair pieces and other appendages to hide bald spots etc.

With female pattern baldness, depending on the underlying factor, hormonal treatments may be required to resolve the problems. Once the underlying problem is resolved, topical and oral medicines can then help in hair re-growth.

Hello lybrate-user, with your question, it seems that you have kept your hair long. If you have split ends, the only solution is to cut them. I can suggest you ways you can avoid hair damage from now. Before you wash your hair, oil themand keep for about an hour and then wash because curly hair are dry and need moisture. Use a mild shampoo like dove daily shine. After washing, use a conditioner (preferably same company as shampoo). Leave the conditioner for one minute and then rinse. You should also apply leave on or hair serum after your hair dries.(2 to 3 drops) once in a week, you can give steam to your hair by dipping towel in hot water, squeese out all the extra water and wrap it on your head for 5 to 10 minutes after oiling and before washing. This will certainly improve yoyears hair quality.

• Apply a mixture of about 20 ml of coconut oil, 10 ml of Amla oil and one or two teaspoons of lemon juice on your scalp and leave it there for some time. • You can wash it off after 20 minutes. This will help in effectively healing your scalp as well as fight dandruff and thereby arrests hair fall. Fenugreek Seeds And Oil • Fry a few fenugreek seeds in coconut oil for a few minutes. • Strain this mixture and apply it in minimal amounts on your head. • Rub it gently on your head so that it reaches the hair roots. • Apply this mixture three to four times a week before bathing will help in preventing your hair from balding. Henna leaves have been used to treat hair loss and to give color and shine to hair for ages in India. • Boil henna leaves in mustard oil. • Make this mixture cool and then mix the strained oil with the regular hair oil that you use. It would be better to mix this with coconut oil for better results. • Apply on your scalp and hair twice or thrice a week to see effective results against baldness. -for consult hair growth treatment stem cell therapy is also availble
