Ovulation is relase of ovum. Fertilisation is union of sperm and ovum and occurs if you have sex. The middle ten days between two periods are the most fertile days. You must use contraception during this period to prevent pregnancy.

IF YOU ARE PREGNANT THESE MEDICINES SHOULD BE NOT BE TAKEN UNTIL UNLESS THERE IS A REASON. IF YOUR DOCTOR HAS PRESCRIBED THEM THERE MUST BE A REASON. DISCUSS WITH YOUR DOCTOR.

I am 25 year old girl and I am unmarried and I have irregular period problem since 8 month. What should I do?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist,
I am 25 year old girl and I am unmarried and I have irregular period problem since 8 month. What should I do?
Mentrual cycles and periods are known to be irregular, and for this one needs to be evaluated by a gynec. Usually there are many factors which can make a period come irregularly, e. G. Stress, exams, change of job, anxiety of job, thoughts of the person, etc. In young adults like you, irregularity is not usually due to any disease, but some diseases need to be ruled out like hypothyroidism, tuberculosis, hormonal disturbances like pcos. In an unmarried girl if diseases have been ruled out there are 2 options: 1. Either take medicines to make cycle regular, and see. After about 3 months treatment, the menses do become regular. 2. Leave it alone. Let the menses come when it wants to. So you must think and see a gynecologist to assess the cause of your cycle irregularity.

I am 28 years and having pcod. I am irregular with periods with a gap of 50-60 days. This month I didnt get periods after 75 days. What shall I do?

Advanced Aesthetics

Researchers have also linked insulin to pcos because many women with this condition also have too much insulin in their bodies. High levels of insulin cause the ovaries to produce more male hormones. Women with pcos have also been found to have low-grade inflammation, contributing to insulin resistance. The exact cause of pcos, however, is still unknown. Yet, genetics is considered an important factor as pcos seems to run in families. Spearmint tea can also help deal with pcos due to its anti-androgenic properties. A study published in the journal phytotherapy research found that drinking spearmint tea can help reduce hirsutism, or excess body hair, by reducing free and total testosterone levels and increasing luteinizing hormone (lh) and follicle-stimulating hormone (fsh) levels. 1. Boil one cup of water in a pan. 2. Add one teaspoon of dried spearmint leaves. 3. Let it simmer for five to 10 minutes. 4. Strain and drink this tea twice daily for a few weeks. Ayurvedic medicines r m2 tone syrup and ashokarishta for 3 months.

Better to get your polyps removed because anything inside the uterine cavity can hamper your results. Iui as it is has a minimal success rate so get optimum benefit u should go for polyp removal before iui.

Attention Girls! Side Effects Of Holding Back A Sneeze

Attention Girls! Side Effects Of Holding Back A Sneeze
Side Effects Of Holding Back A Sneeze

If you feel embarrassed at the loud noise associated with a sneeze and try to suppress it, think again. Your dedication to your board room etiquette can cost you much more than you could possibly imagine. Sneezing is your body’s natural reaction to eliminating harmful bacteria and germs from your system.

During a sneeze your stomach is pulled in and your diaphragm (the thin muscular sheet separating the respiratory system from your stomach) is pulled taut. Your esophagus is pulled back and is in action mode to literally 'spring’ into action and thus eliminate the germs (in the form of mucus) right out of your body. There is considerable force applied in process of ‘burst exhalation!’ When you hold back the sneeze mid-way, you apply a considerable amount of counter force to your body’s natural mechanism. This can cause you to swallow your own tongue (leading to a painful situation that can be even fatal!) or you may risk tearing the linings on the insides of the esophagus and injuring your voice box or the larynx.

The suppression of a sneeze can cause massive built up pressure in our skull which can lead to bursting of ear drums, blood vessels tearing and even brain hemorrhage.

In fact, there have been recorded cases of spinal damage, slipped discs and even rib cage injuries when people have been too polite to let out a sneeze amidst company.

Next time, do not hesitate to let out the noise and the germs as you sneeze. Use a hand sanitizer afterwards to avoid spreading germs though.

DO YOU HAVE ARTHRITIS

M. Ch. (Orthopedic), MS - Orthopaedics, Diploma In Orthopaedics (D. Ortho), MBBS
Orthopedist, Gurgaon
DO YOU HAVE ARTHRITIS
Arthritis prevention let's save our generation next from arthritis pain,
Says Dr. Sanjaykapoor, senior consultant orthopedics and joint replacement surgery.
.
.
Arthritis affects over 15% approximately 180 million people in india, which is higher than many well known diseases.
While much has been said about high incidence of diabetes, hypertension, cancer and hiv in india, recent studies suggest that osteoarthritis beats them all to claim the no. 1 slot among ailments in the country.
Contrary to the misconception that arthritis only impacts the elderly, this disorder is increasingly found in the younger population.
Age is not a factor for arthritis; it can affect young and old alike. Earlier, arthritis patients would be around 65 years or so, but now the younger lot in the age group of 40-45 yrs which is normally considered to be in their golden years are increasingly turning up for surgery.
Higher levels of stress coupled with modern day lifestyles are increasing incidence of arthritis.
.
.
The best way to beating arthritis is by staying active.
The key to arthritis management is finding balance between activities and rest-exercising, as too much may stress sensitive joints, while being too sedentary can cause stiffness and immobility.
Stretching and gentle movements such as yoga are easy on the joints and keep them fluid and supple.
.
.
Exercises such as riding a bike, swimming and water aerobics keep the heart healthy and muscles strong while putting too much pressure on the joints.
Low impact exercises allow you to work your muscles without stressing your joints. Stretching often increases muscle tone and can help boost the range of motion of your joints.
.
.
Just make sure you warm up your muscles and joints before stretching to avoid aggravating joint pain and strain your muscles. By varying activities and following a well-rounded exercise routine with variety can help to maintain strength and protect your joints. Maintaining a healthy weight can reduce stress on your joints, especially weight bearing joints like your hips and knees.
In addition, this can slow down the wear on your joints during daily activities such as walking.
When you have experienced a joint injury, protecting that joint will lower the chances of developing arthritis later.
By taking care not to injure the joint again, you may also decrease the intensity of symptoms should arthritis develop later. Remember always listen to your body, stop exercising if you experience sharp pain and don't try to work through joint discomfort.
Find activities that are gentle on the body and take them at a comfortable pace.
Lastly but not the least, drinking enough water keeps the cartilage in joints lubricated so bones don't rub up against each other.
By eating foods rich in vitamin c and e and calcium, you'll help build a musculoskeletal system that can outlast degenerative conditions.
.
.
