Srub the area with a good scrubber from the market. Apply apple cider vinegar for 5 mins daily. Keep your skin clean by washing your face twice daily. Apply aloe vera gel. Use sunscreen when you go out.

To loose 100 hair in a day is normal as your scalp has hair in all phases so some are in growing stage some in falling stage. If you feel your hairfall is more than that and there is hair thinning please start treatment. Take oral supplememnts and also you can think of taking platelet rich plasma treatment for hair.

Botox - 8 Myths Debunked!

MD, MBBS
Dermatologist, Bangalore
Botox - 8 Myths Debunked!

Botox is a wrinkle treatment, but is used for treating a range of medical conditions. It has been in use for well over 18 years and is considered to be safe when performed under the guidance of a medical practitioner. Apart from aesthetics, a range of other facial, migraine and dermatological problems can be addressed by Botox.

Myth #1

Botox limits facial expression: The primary objective of a Botox treatment is to enhance the look of a person and not the contrary. When administered by a skilled physician, you can still smile and animate like before. Botox in no way affects the sensory nerve. The muscle beneath the point of injection gets relaxed and remains active. The apprehension of limited facial activity is baseless.

Myth #2

Botox travel through your body: This again is a myth. Botox diffuses not more than 1cm into the skin. Due to its localized nature, it does not affect any other parts of the body other than the intended area.

Myth #3

Botox has toxic content: Botox, like any other drug, is safe when taken under supervision. Like other drugs, it too gets scanned by the drug regulatory authorities. It is neither dangerous nor contains any toxic substance.

Myth #4

Dermal fillers involve intense pain: Dermal fillers are not as painful as advocated by many people out there. It does have its fair share of discomfort but a medical practitioner always uses a topical anesthetic and other anxiety related medications during the treatment.

Myth #5

Downtime for Botox is fairly long: Botox is known as the afternoon injection for its convenience and easy procedure. Botox procedure has no downtime at all. Doctors often suggest against lying down for a good 2-3 hours after the injection. Dermal fillers might result in minor swelling but there are medicines to counter that too.

Myth #6

Botox is permanent in nature: Botox effects lasts for 4-6months. For people who take Botox shots regularly, it tends to last longer.

Myth #7

Dermal fillers and Botox are the same: While people these days use them interchangeably, they are not the same. For instance, Botox lessens the effect of wrinkles by relaxing the facial muscle whereas dermal fillers add volume to the tissue and restores the muscle.

Myth #8

Botox is applied only when Facial lines are visible: This is not necessarily true. If the family of an individual has a history of facial lines, it makes sense to start Botox for facial line prevention. This delays the actual facial line appearance and requires fewer Botox shots going forward.

My mother is a diagnosed case of carcinoma right breast. In my mother breast cancer cell her 2/neu is 3+ as per biopsy report. The consulting doctor is saying that she has to be given herceptin and that is too 17 herceptin will take place each in every 3 week. Pls guide is it mandatory. Whats its pros n cons.

MBBS, MS - General Surgery, FBD (Fellowship in Breast Diseases), UICC Fellowship
Oncologist, Pune
Her -2 neu positive patients will require herceptin / trastuzumab therapy. Her 2 neu 3+ will respond to this therapy. As these kind of cancers have more chances of recurrence (cancer return). This therapy is given to reduce chances of recurrence. Better to take all injections. This targeted therapy is related with seriousness of heart problems. So your doctor will check signs of heart problems before, during and after treatment. Infusion reactions are like chemotherapy drugs. Like lung problems, low white blood cell count etc. This therapy is given along with chemo drugs. And in her 2 neu 3+ patients it is recommended.

Hi Doctor, I have fungus problem on my leg for past few months. I consulted many doctors but its coming in various pa...
it is really difficult to get easy solution for this problem. it reappears again and again. its better to avoid spicy food. Fungal infections can happen to anyone, no matter how strict your hygiene regimen is, or how healthy you are. We live in a world filled with bacteria, toxins, and most of us have a history with poor eating habits that can set us up for developing fungal infections more easily. For instance, high amounts of processed foods, (specifically sugar), meat and other animal-based foods, along with junk and fast food all contain additives, chemicals, hormones, pesticides, and more that damage our gut bacteria and weaken our bodies? immune systems. Antibiotics and prescription drugs only contribute to this problem, therefore we?re not able to fight off fungi we encounter every day like we normally would. Or, if you come in contact with spoiled food, some type of dangerous bacteria in the environment, or drink bacteria-laden water, you might also develop a fungal infection. The possibilities are endless, and though you needn?t walk around scared all the time, it?s still helpful to know how to fight fungal infections more naturally with your diet as much as possible. The healthier you eat, the better chance your immune system has for thriving. you may start taking 1.coconut, 2.garlic, 3.oregano oil, 4.pumpkin seeds ( Eat 1/4 cup of the seeds a day), 5.onion these all are good. besides, u may apply the fresh milk( little quantity) that u get from an oak tree leaf.. you must get a proper ayurveda treatment for complete eradication.

Hello I got hair issues. Day by day my hair is falling. I guess this is a serious problem. How can I get rid of it?

MD - Alternate Medicine, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Hello I got hair issues. Day by day my hair is falling. I guess this is a serious problem. How can I get rid of it?
Hair fall may be attributed to different reasons like using artificial colors, hair styling, chemicals etc. It may be due to some internal weakness also. Please go for herbal neem shampoo. Use shikakai and amla as conditioner (soak amla and shikakai in water overnight and boil a little in morning). Apply it on hairs. Keep for half an hour and then wash. It will condition the hairs.

Hello, hair fall can be due to many reasons. But since you are saying that it is only from 2 months, the most probable reason might be vitamin amd mineral deficiency. Normal vitamins and minerals that are used for body health are not sufficient for hair growth and health. There are specific minerals that are needed. The other reason might be the water with which you are washing your hair with. Hard water or desalined sea water can lead to hair loss. I would recommend that you consult a dermatologist so that a few tests can be done and treatment can be started.

Such kind of sensory hyperasthaesia abnormality may signify some or the other kind of neuropathy as you have not mentioned other pre morbid condition like diabetes mellitus, hypertension so we are a bit clueless about the actual diagnosis bt to begin with you can start her with b complex to address the probable neuropathy for minimum 15 days if it does'nt respond then we can start homoeopathic medicines where there are some medicines to address such kind of doubtful diagnosis you can revert once you finish 15 days course.

I am suffering from in growth hair on arms and legs how I get rid from them please suggest me remedy so could I get that dirty arms in better condition. Thank you!

Advanced Aesthetics

When considering home remedies for hair growth reduction, remember that the effectiveness would vary and would depend on factors such as the skin type as well as amount and quality of hair growth. Hence, choose methods which include natural ingredients that are generally good for your skin when testing such remedies on your face's weight loss and a healthy diet: this is the primary step. This remedy is particularly effective in the case of overweight women who have facial hair issues or women with underlying causes, such as polycystic ovary syndrome, which greatly benefit from weight loss. This, combined with a healthier diet can often help the body maintain a better hormonal balance? s turmeric: women often swear by turmeric to tackle facial hair even though its efficacy has been questioned. It is a known fact that turmeric does wonders for your complexion and can be used with milk and gram flour to make a generally beneficial paste for your skin. Any queries inform me.
