Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - To maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - If pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - Physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - Adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - Ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - Analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - Avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Try this for joint pains try this. Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. Consult after 10 days.

This could be due to oa knee &/or obesity. Physiotherapy along with medicines will help. Do knee exercises. It may have to be further investigated rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Any way take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for private consultation and detailed treatment plan.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hi joint pain usually happens due to deficiency of vitamin d3 and b12 so please check these level and for now apply hot packs and do some stretching exercises for reducing the load exerted on the joint.

It is critical to get an accurate diagnosis, so go and see a sports physician, an orthopaedic surgeon or a qualified sports physiotherapist who has experience working with cricketers. A full history of your problem should be taken and your movements assessed. More importantly, they will likely investigate your lower back using a combination of oblique lumbar x-rays, a bone scan, ct scan, or more likely a mri, which will show more accurately any areas of bone activity. The goal of the investigations is to primarily determine whether there is an active fracture present and whether the body is trying to heal itself. Can try some home relief techniques until you go to a specialist: -apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --while sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. Do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time best wishes.

I have a neck pain on the right side of my neck normally. The problem is it just not only pains, but also gives me an embarrassment sometimes by forcing itself to turn to one side. Meaning, my chin area moves towards the left and the forehead towards the right. Other words, my head and neck slightly slants towards the right (one side) and this happens only at times when I am very cautious of being noticed or even when I go for a hair cut. My barber aligns my head to the position he wants me in, for few minutes, but I am unable to hold it for long. It automatically forces and turns to one side. This is one occasion. The others are when I have a discussion with my Director of the Company where I work. I become so conscious about my neck, that even if I try turning and aligning it back to normal, I am unable to do so. Usually If I am nervous, I think this keeps happening. It is something to do with not just my neck or back. I guess, its something to do with the set of nervous from the upper shoulder to the head upwards from behind my right ear. I have tried my best to explain. In case if any other information is required, I can probably take a video when it happens and post the same. Its quite embarrassing for me, so I humbly request your suggestions or guidance accordingly.

Work in breaks. Do work in a single position for long time. Take a small break in every half n hour or jus change a position for few seconds. And do regular exercises after consultation with nearer physiotherapist doctor and need some ergonomic changes at work place.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretching. Do the cat/cow stretch.
