I have some dental problem that is my teeth is not white. please tell me the way to clean the teeth.
Hello lybrate-user you can turn into white by maintaining oral hygiene. The slight dull color of teeth is due to deposits on its surfaces. If they are dark yellow you can go for bleaching of your teeth. But if they are slightly yellow then you can try snow dent tooth paste regularly. Apply it on your teeth and wait for 10 min. After that you can even brush with it.

Sir I am 47 years old but last 6 months I am suffering with dental infection the teeths are slightly moving. On the lunch time I got heavy pain please give me some treatment.

Hi sir, you would be suffering from generalized periodontitis which is the inflammatory diseases affecting the tissues that surround and support the teeth. It involves progressive loss of the bone around the teeth, and if left untreated, can lead to the loosening and subsequent loss of teeth. So, get scaling & root planing done first. If you are a diabetic, check your blood glucose levels and keep it under control (since diabetics are more prone for periodontitis). You might need surgical procedures if the condition is very severe. But, initially get scaling & root planing done.

When I eat an ice cream or drink cold drink. I feel a different type of pain in my gums.

When I eat an ice cream or drink cold drink. I feel a different type of pain in my gums.
Tooth sensitivity is caused by the gradual exposure of the softer part of your tooth that lies under the tooth enamel, called" dentine" Dentine has tiny tubes ('tubules') that lead to the nerve and are filled with fluid. Eating or drinking foods and drinks that are hot, cold or sweet can cause a change in fluid movement. This fluid movement causes the nerve endings to react in response, triggering a short, sharp pain. Some of the most common causes of sensitive teeth include: Brushing Brushing shortly after acid challenge can cause the enamel to be more easily worn away, as during this time the enamel is softened and more vulnerable. Brushing too vigorously can also cause receding gums, causing further exposure of the dentine. Gum Disease Gum disease (also known as gingivitis) causes inflamed and sore gum tissue.  If left untreated, gingivitis can lead to periodontitis. Periodontitis is when gum disease gets worse and damages the tissues and bone that support the teeth. One sign of periodontitis is sensitive teeth, as the receding gums leave dentine exposed.  Teeth Grinding If you grind your teeth when you sleep or during the day, or if you clench your teeth, you may be wearing down enamel and exposing the underlying dentine layer of your tooth. Receding Gums Receding gums can be caused by conditions such as gum disease, which can expose the tooth's dentine and cause sensitivity. Brushing too vigorously can also cause receding gums. Homoeopathic medicines bring holistic act on each and every part of body thus teeth are no exception, go for a constitutional homoeopathic treatment to get permanent cure.

Taking a large no. of medications often leads to a dry mouth. Increase your fluid intake or ask your dentist about an artificial saliva product or chew sugarless gum after a meal to keep your mouth moist.

Flossing is as important as brushing on a daily basis. Taking the floss all the way down to the point where the teeth and gums meet is the appropriate way of doing it.

We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning and artificial enamel filling or root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Please go ahead and get a crown at the earliest. Post RCT treatment the tooth is brittle and does not have a nutrient supply owing to which it is likely to crack, post which the whole purpose of getting a root canal procedure is lost. If your tooth cracks depending on the extent of breakage you might be asked to get the tooth extracted. Also you need to check if a core build up has been done prior to getting a crown fixed. Make sure your crown is at least porcelain with metal (with full porcelain coverage) and not a metal or partial porcelain crown.
