Hello Sir, Your blood glucose levels are borderline high. With appropriate medication and proper diet and exercise I am fairly certain that the glucose would come down to normal range. Reducing your weight will help you a lot too to reduce your blood glucose levels. The diet that will help you both with weight loss and blood glucose control is as follows: - eat plenty of vegetables either as salads or in curry form (made with less oil or fat). Avoid potatoes, colocasia, yam etc. Limit your carbohydrates intake- like rice, roti, chapati etc. Use whole grains wherever possible like bajra, Raghu, different types of mullets, whole wheat Upma etc. Take a small bowl of dal everyday. You can eat 2 fruits (avoid mango, jack fruit, sapota etc). Can drink glass of milk, take curds/buttermilk. Avoid sweets, cakes, biscuits, junk food etc. Exercise at least 45 min/day, includes brisk walking, cycling, jogging, swimming etc. I cannot advise you which medication to take in open forum due to Lybrate rules. You can consult me privately for that as private consultation. Or you could see a good diabetologist where you live. I hope this has helped you Thank you.

Increased risk of heart diseases. Some of those risk factors cannot be modified (non-modifiable) and are not under our control while there are others that you can modify (modifiable) to prevent heart diseases. While you cannot do much about non-modifiable risk factors (like age and family history) you can reduce your chances of heart disease by working on the modifiable risk factors.

I am 35 years old and have gone through hBa1c test last week. I got 6.3 which says I have good control over Diabetes. But I don't take any Diabetes medicine. Do I have Diabetes?

I am 35 years old and have gone through hBa1c test last week. I got 6.3 which says I have good control over Diabetes....
Mr. lybrate-user Thanks for the query. HbA1c% 6.3 suggests you are in a pre-diabetic state. Which means in the near future you are likely to develop diabetes. When HbA1c% crosses 6.5 % and above diabetes is diagnosed. Pre-diabetes is a state which alerts one to take necessary care and prevent future progression to diabetes. So if you maintain a healthy modified lifestyle with proper balanced diet, regular exercise and weight control, you can prevent getting diabetes. Thanks.

Sir, my fifth metacarpal had fracture on 4 march, but I couldn't take the treatment bcz my 12th examination was started from 5th of March. When I go to doctor now they say that your fracture is repaired so no bandage is required. I feel a band in my 5th metacarpal. Is it makes any problem in future or there is any disadvantage of it. Please tell me.

M.S - Orthopaedics
Orthopedist, Mohali
It's almost a month since fracture it might be healed by now. Nothing to do now. Don't get it hand massage done by anyone. You can apply crepe bandage if you like and take analgesic if you feel any pain at any sort of time. Start with it activities gradually with this hand and gradually lift the weight. Don't worry about the band. For further assistance you can send x-ray personally and can further discuss on this.

Hii sir my wife is diabetic insulin injection user. Sexual activity related precautions be told to me plz.
There is absolutely no reason for you to worry as far as sexual relations with a Diabetic/Insulin user patient is concerned. Diabetes is not a sexually transmitted disease.

I am having pharyngitis due to acidity can you please suggest some good antacid also any medicine for pharyngitis.
Pharyngitis is less likely to be an infective origin that's why they don't respond to stander course of antibiotics, that's why they are of either allergic or follicular origin and a tendency or the reaction to certain factors. Therefore the permanent cure of it without any relapses .you stars homoeopathy with an expert and shore that you will be cured in 3 to 4 weeks. If you want homoeopathic treatment you can share your more details with us
