Doctor, I had a skin problem, I had dark black and some light coloured patches around my neck and shoulders. They are also spreading on my back slowly. Had it for around 5 years. Now I feel sorry for neglecting it. Please help how to get rid of those. I have seen it in my friends too and felt that it is common and will be alright after some time. A couple of years back, I used an ointment "Keto" people said that it worked well for them. But I did not use it for much time and forgot about it in college days. Please suggest me effective medicine. I am feeling embarrassed because, these black marks are visible on the sides of my neck. Give some tips sir, I am a science student and can understand. When it comes to the fight against fine lines there are seemingly endless options for giving your complexion a youthful boost. Botox and dermal fillers have long been a gold standard in cosmetic treatments. Both have been known to turn back the clock, smooth wrinkles and make your skin look younger. One of the most popular questions about the two procedures is: which one is better? this question is often misleading as both treatments are used depending on the patient's needs, and is nothing alike. We've all heard of botox thanks to the spate of celebrities who use it, but what about fillers, the other option for smooth, line-free skin?
Betting on botox
Botox is essentially refined neurotoxin, which can help treat wrinkles. Typical sites for botox are frown lines, forehead lines, crow's feet, lip lines, and many other wrinkles that result from facial expression. these treatments work by causing facial muscles to relax temporarily. Wrinkles continue to become more defined as the muscles become tighter and the skin creates deeper grooves. Botox relaxes the muscle so that the skin is not continually being pulled which gives the skin time to smooth out.
Botox has also been known to relieve headaches in patients which are caused by muscle spasms or tension. It may be surprising to learn that botox is also useful with patients suffering from axillary hyperhidrosis. Axillary hyperhidrosis is a condition where a patient suffers from excessive sweating from the armpits. In this case, botox will block some of the signals which lead to secretion via sweaty armpits.
Focus on fillers
Dermal fillers on the other hand, are designed to fill wrinkles, and re-volumize areas such as the cheeks, that typically lose volume as we age. Cosmetic fillers can plump up thin lips, enhance facial contours, improve the appearance of recessed scars, and get rid of facial lines while restoring volume and fullness to the face.
It contains hyaluronic acid, which plumps up the skin, filling and smoothing out any surface wrinkles. The smooth injectable gel helps restore the skin's volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, including those highly visible ones around the mouth and nose and on the forehead.
Perhaps the most common misconception surrounding botox and dermal fillers is that they can achieve the same results as getting a facelift. This is simply not true since a facelift is a surgical operation and can accomplish more drastic results. Botox and dermal fillers merely alleviate the effects of aging and for younger people, can be used as a preventative.
Negative side effects for non-invasive cosmetic treatments are usually uncommon, but it's important to note there are still risks, which can vary depending on the procedure. Compared to more invasive facial rejuvenation procedures, botox and dermal fillers are considered to be very safe procedures.
There is minimal downtime for using botox. In fact, patients can have this treatment done on their lunch break and return to work. There is always a risk of swelling and bruising with dermal fillers, but most patients return to work the same day as well. This is a quick recovery compared to invasive procedures, which can take weeks, if not months, to heal.
Typically, a patient can feel the results within a couple of days but may not see any results for a week or two.
It is important to remember that botox lasts for approximately four to six months depending on the patient. Many patients prefer a repeat dosage sooner than other patients because they are not tolerant of seeing any wrinkles at all.
The dermal filler results last for 1-2 years depending on the product you choose.
Botox and fillers: can you get both?
While you might think that botox and fillers can only be used separately, they're actually better together. Botox is often used in conjunction with fillers (and even lasers) to enhance the overall results of those treatments. botox and fillers are a perfect combination
Botox and fillers perform differently, so a combination of those treatment works better than either treatment alone. Botox relaxes the underlying facial muscle, while fillers plump the skin and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. together they provide the most soft and natural looking improvement in facial appearance and age related cosmetic concerns. In many cases soft tissue filler will last longer when used with botox
Between botox and fillers you should have no trouble finding a skin smoothing solution that works for you. Wrinkles and fine lines don't stand a chance against either, and if you really want a put stop to aging skin use a combination of both.
A popular cosmetic procedure, thread lift, is like routine work in aesthetic medicine. There are three different methods for thread lifting known as beauty threads, non-surgical thread lifting, and surgical thread lifting. While all procedures are used principally for the face, they can also be used on the cleavage, neck area, and other body areas as well. All three methods help to incite collagen production, re-establishing firmness.
Should You Take the Plunge and Opt for a Thread Lift?
With age, skin tissues tend to thin down because of the breaking down and diminished production of elastin and collagen- the two essential components that keep the skin toned and firm. Along with the loss of muscle mass, bone density and fat cells, aging causes folds, sagging, wrinkles and creases in the skin. A thread lift can modify the effects of aging on the physical appearance by drawing up loose skin without going into operational complexities.
Things to Understand before Booking a Thread Lift Session
A thread lift stimulates the collagen production, tightens the surrounding tissues, and increases blood supply, thus increasing the firmness of skin. The results of thread lift can persist up to quite a few years, depending on the lifestyle and physiological condition of the patient.
Thread-lifting has become a tremendously popular process that incorporates various methods and combinations. However, a single kind of thread does not befit all, so deciding the appropriate type that will suit your skin type and requirements is very essential. Also, another factor that stands on equal importance is the doctor you are considering to collaborate. Always go for well-established renowned doctors in these delicate cases. The latest thread lift is hardly an invasive procedure, and with minimal downtime risk, it is obtaining a fast popularity.
How Do Thread Lifts Work?
The advanced and the most recent cosmetic procedure in this type of lift is dermal thread lift. A thread lift is swift and does not require surgery as such. Previously in surgical methods, a barbed thread was used that would be surgically attached to the skin. The minute barbs held on to the sagging skin. It required hospitalization and postoperative care. But these days there are non-surgical procedures available.
Possible Risk Factors
When operated by an experienced or licensed cosmetic or dermatological surgeon, thread lift techniques are extremely reliable. Nevertheless, lesser side effects may occur including muscle weakness, mental bruising and blistering in areas affected, which typically settle on their own by a week. Sometimes there can be a possibility of risks and complications like mild scarring, migraine, dimpling of the skin, hair loss or in a few sporadic cases, insensibility in the treated area due to nerve lesions.
