Hello. There is no natural way to get rid of glasses. You have two options. One is contact lenses and other is lasik. Lasik is simple and safe surgery. Consult refractive surgeon around and doctor will don few tests and based on those tests lasik will be done.

Sir, kiran eye is disturbing and sometimes comes pain, at the same time drops water, eye is reading.
It iss due to much straining on your eyes.Be sure that there is ample light in the room where you are studying and if even then problem remains same then you should consult an eye specialist to rule out possibility of weak eyeesight.

What is hypermetropia and myopia? What are the causes of this? What are the symptoms and causes of this give me idea about this.

What is hypermetropia and myopia? What are the causes of this? What are the symptoms and causes of this give me idea ...
Myopia is the term used to define short sightedness. Light from a distant object forms an image before it reaches the retina. This could be because the eye is too long, or the cornea or crystalline lens is too strong. A myopic person has clear vision when looking at objects close to them, but distant objects will appear blurred. Hypermetropia means long sight and is where the image of a nearby object is formed behind the retina. This could be because the eye is too short, or the cornea or crystalline lens does not refract the light enough. A hypermetropic person may have blurred vision when looking at objects close to them, and clearer vision when looking at objects in the distance. By placing a convex (plus powered) lens in front of a hypermetropic eye, the image is moved forward and focuses correctly on the retina

Glaucoma: 2nd leading cause of blindness in the world

Phaco Development Program, Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology, DNB Ophtalmology, MBBS
Ophthalmologist, Mysore
Glaucoma: 2nd leading cause of blindness in the world
Glaucoma is a group of diseases that damage the eye's optic nerve and can result in vision loss and blindness. However, with early detection and treatment, you can often protect your eyes against serious vision loss.

At first, open-angle glaucoma has no symptoms. It causes no pain. Vision stays normal. Glaucoma can develop in one or both eyes. Without treatment, people with glaucoma will slowly lose their peripheral (side) vision. As glaucoma remains untreated, people may miss objects to the side and out of the corner of their eye. They seem to be looking through a tunnel. Over time, straight-ahead (central) vision may decrease until no vision remains.

There is no cure for glaucoma. Vision lost from the disease cannot be restored.

Immediate treatment for early-stage, open-angle glaucoma can delay progression of the disease. That's why early diagnosis is very important. Glaucoma treatments include medicines, laser trabeculoplasty, conventional surgery, or a combination of any of these. While these treatments may save remaining vision, they do not improve sight already lost from glaucoma.

If you are being treated for glaucoma, be sure to take your glaucoma medicine every day. See your eye care professional regularly. You also can help protect the vision of family members and friends. Encourage them to have a comprehensive dilated eye exam at least once every two years. Remember that lowering eye pressure in the early stages of glaucoma slows progression of the disease and helps save vision.

Take frequent breaks while studying and dip a handkerchief in cold water and keep it over closed eyes for 2 minutes during breaks, you will feel better. Also get your eyes checked for any spectacle number.

I am 19 years old. I have a stye on my upper eyelid. Its has been two months but it does not seem to go. I have tried everything possible. From hot compress to ointments. What should I do?

Hello, if the swelling is there since two months, I doubt that its a stye, probably its a chalazion (painless nodular swelling due to chronic infection). If its small it might dissolve away with regular hot compresses done persistently over a month. If this does not then you might have to consider surgical excision. For time being do not touch the eye frequently and do hot fomentation regularly. Take care.
