My 6 month labrador dog suffering from hair fall. please give me some best suggestions! like. An ejection names or any thing.

Veterinarian, Gurgaon
Lybrate-userhair fall can be due to multiple reasons. Is it at particular part of body or generalize. Slight generalize hair fall is normal. Few dogs shed more twice a year and few shed equally throughout the year. Please make sure you are feeding nutritious diet rich in proteins and essential fatty acids.

I want to know the reason for the death of my dog Bread: Labrador Cross Sex: Bitch Age: 20-03-2004 (12.5 years) Symptoms. stuffy got blind 4 Months ago but it was health. Before 1 months it was very hungry and urinating a lot. And a tumour on the tail and became very thin. Before one day it was health. I fed it with curd Rice, Pedigree Senior and milk (mixed) in the evening and rice in the night. It vomited the pedigree milk with in an hour. Before the dinner. After dinner it vomited 4 times color yellow. And in the morning it around 5 it started shouting with pain and biting her tail. Her two back legs were no working. She was unable to get up She was shouting and biting the tail. Finally when all of them seen them it took rest and kept her tongue out. And was not giving any movement. tongue became all black. I want to know the reason what is a sudden cause for the vomiting and pain and death. Happened 22-08-16.

Veterinarian, Hyderabad
Stress and anxiety can lead dogs into a host of destructive and repetitive behaviors: dog turns to self-destructive activities like tail biting as a way to get attention. Any kind of rear or hindquarters injury — a tumor which might have got spread and destructing adjoining organs or fractured tail bone, for instance — is something a dog cannot inform his owner of, and may go unnoticed under normal circumstances. The intensity of the dog’s pain can sometimes lead her to act on by excessive chewing, biting, or licking at the affected area. Only veterinary X-rays will be able to properly diagnose such an issue. You also said she vomited yellowish. Most gastrointestinal diseases result in death over a short amount of time, but are rarely sudden. Sudden cases of intestinal torsion or volvulus (twisting of intestines due to over feeding or sudden activity immediately after having bulk food) all can result in a rapid deterioration and ultimate death. This can only be confirmed by an ultrasonography or in your case a post mortem. Very sorry for your loss.

I have a white rooster more than 2 years of age, since 2.5 months his right eye is swelling and has shifted his neck bone towards right and sometimes seizures occurs and his comb and wattle becomes black and it becomes difficult to breathe. Also tears comes in his eyes and becomes bubble and congestion type sound comes from his mouth. Vet has said he is suffering from new castle disease. Now seizures are very less but saliva comes in his mouth and becomes bubble and makes it difficult to breathe and it is very frequent. What should we do so that saliva stop covering the entire mouth.

MVSc, BVSc
Veterinarian, Secunderabad
Hi, Did vaccination given for your rooster with NDV (LASOTA or RD F) / MD /IB etc. It may also suffer with vitamin and mineral deficiency. You can add multi vitamin drops in water while giving to rooster. Symptomatic treatment should be offered at this stage. Take to nearest vet for proper treatment.

TIPS FOR YOUR PET IN HOT SUMMER

By following a few simple rules, it is easy to keep your pet safe while still having fun in the sun"
Take these simple precautions to help prevent your pet from overheating. And if you suspect your pet is suffering from heat stroke, get help from your veterinarian immediately.
1)Visit the Vet:
A visit to the veterinarian for a early summer check-up is a must. Make sure your pets get tested for parasitic infestation, if any. Ask your doctor to recommend a safe flea and tick control program.
2)Made in the Shade:
Pets can get dehydrated quickly, so give them plenty of fresh, clean water when it's hot outdoors. Make sure your pets have a shady place to get out of the sun, be careful to not over-exercise them, and keep them indoors when it's extremely hot.
3)Know the Warning Signs:
Symptoms of overheating in pets include excessive panting or difficulty breathing, increased heart and respiratory rate, drooling, mild weakness, stupor or even collapse. They can also include seizures, bloody diarrhea and vomit along with an elevated body temperature of over 104 degrees. Animals with flat faces, like Pugs and Persian cats, are more susceptible to heat stroke since they cannot pant as effectively. These pets, along with the elderly, the overweight, and those with heart or lung diseases, should be kept cool in air-conditioned rooms as much as possible.
4)No Parking:
Never leave your animals alone in a parked vehicle. On a hot day, a parked car can become a furnace in no time-even with the windows open-which could lead to fatal heat stroke.
5)Make a Safe Splash:
Do not leave pets unsupervised around a pool-not all dogs are good swimmers. Introduce your pets to water gradually and make sure they wear flotation devices when on boats. Rinse your dog off after swimming to remove chlorine or salt from his fur, and try to keep your dog from drinking pool water, which contains chlorine and other chemicals that could cause stomach upset.
6)Summer Style:
Feel free to trim longer hair on your dog, but never shave your dog: The layers of dogs' coats protect them from overheating and sunburn. Brushing cats more often than usual can prevent problems caused by excessive heat. And be sure that any sunscreen or insect repellent product you use on your pets is labeled specifically for use on animals.
7)Street Smarts:
When the temperature is very high, don't let your dog linger on hot asphalt. Being so close the ground, your pooch's body can heat up quickly, and sensitive paw pads can burn. Keep walks during these times to a minimum.
8)Avoid Chemicals:
Commonly used flea and tick products, rodenticides (mouse and rat baits), and lawn and garden insecticides can be harmful to cats and dogs if ingested, so keep them out of reach. When walking your dog, steer clear of areas that you suspect have been sprayed with insecticides or other chemicals. Keep citronella candles, oil products and insect coils out of pets' reach as well. Call your veterinarian if you suspect your animal has ingested a poisonous substance.
9)Party Animals:
Taking Fido to a backyard barbeque or party? Remember that the food and drink offered to guests may be poisonous to pets. Keep alcoholic beverages away from pets, as they can cause intoxication, depression and comas. Similarly, remember that the snacks enjoyed by your human friends should not be a treat for your pet; any change of diet, even for one meal, may give your dog or cat severe digestive ailments. Avoid raisins, grapes, onions, chocolate and products with the sweetener xylitol.
10)Fireworks Aren't Very Pet-riotic:
Exposure to lit fireworks can potentially result in severe burns or trauma to curious pets, and even unused fireworks can be hazardous. Many types of fireworks contain potentially toxic substances such as potassium nitrate, copper, chlorates, arsenic and other heavy metals.

My three & half years old rottweiler has mated with same breed boy after 50 days it looked like gone blank but some what nepples have been dropped then I thought may be there is one or two puppies now at 67th day i saw some discharge dark brown colored still 12hrs there is no baby or it is not getting any pain please suggest me

MVSC
Veterinarian, Hyderabad
First of all confirm the dog with the canine pregnancy kit (Witness Relaxin kit) if you doubt for pregnancy. If the dog is not pregnant do not worry. She had started her next estrous cycle and so bloody discharge happened. No need for any medication. Just observe the dog for cycles and plan for next mating.
