My mother has 65 years old. She has knee problems and sugar since last 10 years. What can I do?
As your mother feel pain in knees, follow these usefultips for pain relief: * first check out bone mineral density (bmd). In case of low bmd, your calcium level in body are low. So take take calcium rich diet daily. Take a glass (300 ml) of full cream milk daily or 100 gm of cheese or 1-2 eggs regularly. * give a gentle oil massage to knees regularly and wrap your knees with cloth dipped in hot water for atleast 10-15 minutes. * wear knee cap or wrap crape bandage during walk for knee support. * sit atleast for 5-8 minutes in sunlight in morning or evening for vitamind. *avoid heal shoe and wear only flat shoes for balanced load on knees. * check out your blood sugar level and hemoglobin level in every 6 months. * if you have any history of rheumatoid arthritis in family then checkout your ra factor. * take guggalu tablets if himalaya one tablet daily for atleast 3 months. * take a piece of garlic, crush it and boil it a glass of milk and drink daily for fast pain relief.

Kindly elaborate on the problem. Do you have it more in mornings or evening? any associated fever /eight loss? any history of trauma/fall? avoid bending forwards and lifting heavy wweight, take hot water fomentation 3-4 times a day and maintain an upright posture while sitting/standing. If this oesnt help we might need to do an xray and mri of your back if required. For details, kindly consult. Hope it helps.

I have a lower back pain. I have a desk job and have put on some weight. My bmi is 27.5. I fear that I may develop something chronic. I have recently started playing badminton at night so that I lose some weight. What else can I do to stop the pain from getting any worse.

Dear lybrate-user good that you are doing exercise. Please go ahead gradually so that you do not injure your back. You can learn yoga and pranayam and practice on daily basis. If you get pain apply ice. For 20 min and avoid pain killers.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contacts your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

I am suffering from a rest less leg syndrome and my leg pains very badly. How can it can be cured. My treatment is going on in speech Lucknow but their is nothing improvement in my treatment and their suggested me that it cannot be cured, you have to take medicine through out your life. It is a fact that all the effects/restless leg syndrome in your case on body are due to stress/ tension may be known to you or unknown related to family, professional, student, non achievements etc in any field of life. Dear lybrate user use hot pack 15 minutes twice a day. Avoid cross leg sitting prolonged standing and walking, both ankle move up and down 10 times, roll big towel keep it under your knee press it against towel hold 5 to 10 sec 10 repeataion, put up pillow between both knee give inward pressure hol 5 second repeat 10 times, alternate bend straight your knee with foot bed contact 20 times repeat, straight leg raise upto 10 inch hold 5 second repeat 5 times, sit and stand 10 times from bed or chair.

Dear lybrate-user, as far as the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis is considered please understand that it is an auto-immune disorder, whose treatment is not mentioned in principles in any treatment modalities. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.
