Eye swelling can be due to many reasons like, injury, allergy, infections, straining and weak eyesight but the confirmation regarding the cause can only be made after a physical examination. You cannot change glasses on your own-you should visit an eye specialist and get your eyes examined immediately before it is too late.

My eye is suffering from pain. And I used glasses from 2 years. What should I do.

My eye is suffering from pain. And I used glasses from 2 years. What should I do.
Usually eye fatigue can be prevented or reduced by making simple changes in your work habits or environment. Make changes to your computer screen, such as: place the screen 20-26 inches away from your eyes and a little below eye level. Regularly clean off dust and fingerprints from the screen. Smudges on the screen can reduce contrast and increase problems with glare and reflections. Choose screens that tilt and swivel. Consider using a glare filter over your screen. Make changes to your work environment, such as: change lighting to reduce glare and harsh reflections. Use an adjustable chair. Place a document holder next to your computer screen. Make changes to your work habits, such as: try the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes, look away about 20 feet in front of you for 20 seconds. Post a note that says" blink" on the computer as a reminder. Take regular breaks from computer work. Take care of your eyes with these steps: apply a washcloth soaked in warm water to tired, dry eyes (with eyes closed). Use artificial tears to refresh your eyes when they feel dry. To help prevent dry eyes while working indoors, use an air cleaner to filter dust and a humidifier to add moisture to the air. Management: give sufficient rest to your eyes with proper sleep. Keep yourself hydrated with intake of 10-12 glasses of water in a day. Eat healthy especially vitamin a rich food (green vegetables, carrots, yellow fruits and vegetables) and avoid junk food. Hold tap water in your flexed palm, dip your one eye closer to the water level, shut and open your eyelids often. Do the same with your other eye. Repeat this whole process 1-2 times more in a day. Give your eyes proper rest. Can keep slices of cucumber or potato or used tea bags over the closed eyes for sometime. Medication: instill 2 drops of euphrasia eye drops in each eye twice daily.

There is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 23 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. As you are not comfortable with contact lens then go for lasik. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

Hello- this due to increase in melanin due to improper schedule and yes definitely due to your professional field. Try these ayurvedic tips- a) use kumkumadi tailam faor massage around your eyes. B) daily massage your face with coconut oil mix with alovera zel at bed time. C) use mahamanjisthadi kwath 2 tsp twice daily with water. D) increase cows ghee in your diet as this is the one thing which regress and reverses melanin growth.

I have night blindness am unable to see in low light so what precautions should I take and what food I prefer.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
I have night blindness am unable to see in low light so what precautions should I take and what food I prefer.
Night blindness is due to a disorder of the cells in the retina that are responsible for vision in dim light. It has many causes, including: • Short-sightedness • Glaucoma medications that work by constricting the pupil • Cataracts • Retinitis pigmentosa • Vitamin A deficiency How is night blindness treated? Treatment for night blindness will depend upon its cause. Treatment may be as simple as a new prescription for your glasses or switching glaucoma medications, or it may require surgery in cases of cataracts Dietary Management For Night Blindness Vitamins A, C and E are potent antioxidants which slow down age related macular degeneration and help maintain healthy tissues and cells in the eyes. Vitamins C and E may also inhibit the development or progression of cataracts. Lutein and zeaxanthin are two antioxidants called carotenoids, which help in neutralizing free radicals and maintaining eye health. Sources of Vitamin A: Yellow-orange fruits and vegetables such as carrots, mango, papaya, pumpkin, dark green leafy vegetables, broccoli, eggs, milk and milk products. Vitamin A can be stored in your body, so you can opt for your favorite seasonal foods! Sources of Vitamin C: Citrus fruits such as oranges, tangerines and grapefruit, peppers, tomatoes, kiwis, gooseberries, strawberries and Brussels sprouts. Sources of Vitamin E: Nuts like almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, fortified oils, seeds, eggs, milk and dairy. Sources of Lutein: Green leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale, broccoli and chard, yellow peppers, mango and bilberries. Sources of Zeaxanthin: Oranges, tangerines, eggs, spinach, dark green lettuce, corn, broccoli and orange sweet peppers. For maximizing the benefits of the above vegetables, it is best to have then lightly cooked rather than raw. Cooking or steaming breaks down the cells, making it simpler for the body to absorb these nutrients from the foods. Aim to eat at least 2 to 4 servings or more of these foods every day to ensure that you are getting enough of these 5 powerful nutrients.

My dad is suffering with water stored below the eye he consulted number of doctors but no use do you have any solution.
Hello lybrate-user sumanth. From the symptoms described by you, it could be due to a condition known as dacryocystitis. This occurs due to the blockage of the connection between the eye and the nose. This connection is known as the naso-lacrimal duct. It is accompanied by discharge from the eye (yellowish white) along with pain and watering. This condition tends to get aggravated during certain seasons and lessened in severity during others. Other possible causes for puffiness below the eyes include: (1) age related distribution of fat. With progressive time and age there occurs a re-distribution of a lot of body fat. This may lead to puffiness/ sagging/ bagginess of the lower eyelids. (2) excessive alcohol consumption has at times seen to be associated with puffiness of eyelids. (3) hypersensitivity/ allergy of the eyes may cause puffiness. It may be caused due to dust, pollen, insect bite, etc. (4) thyroid level fluctuation has at times been seen to be associated with puffiness of eyelids. (5) excessive obesity has been shown to be associated with puffiness of eyelids. (6) extreme condition such as orbital cellulitis: very rare. Also, it is usually associated with eye injury, surgery, systemic infection, etc. It is very less likely to be so in your case. (7) grave's disease: this has a tendency to be associated with thyroid disease (or other autoimmune conditions). It s also rare. It is associated with fatigue and weakness that progresses throughout the day. (8) allergy of the eyes. It may happen due to insect bite hypersensitivity, allergy to cosmetics, dust, food items, etc thus, it would be a good idea to identify in the category that your father comes under and then tackle the situation. The reason for this being that each cause would have a different pattern of treatment.

Hello, you should do these exercises to strengthen the ocular muscles. Exercises for eyes: Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing rather reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.
