It sounds like normal precordial catch and for security you can do a check up Precordial Catch Syndrome (PCS), also known as Texidor's twinge, is a common cause of chest pain complaints in children and adolescents. It also occurs, though less frequently, in adults. PCS manifests itself as a very intense, sharp pain typically at the left side of the chest which is worse when taking breaths. Patients often think that they are having a heart attack which causes them to panic. This typically lasts 30 seconds to 3 minutes, though some episodes last only a few breaths and in rare cases can last up to 30 minutes. In all cases the pain is resolved quickly and completely.

My 20-year old brother has asthma. What is the effect of using an asthma preventer long term? I heard that using it for years might cause bone shrinkage. Is it true? Are there any vitamins or supplements to help vision?

If steroids are given orally for long periods of time than only it will cause bone shrinkage but if given through nebulisation than it won't have any side effects

Good to know that your kidneys are normal in size and shape & ecg report is also normal. Remember, there is a difference between picture of an organ and its functioning, kidneys'appear' to be normal but are not functioning properly as blood urea & creatinine are very high. Kidneys are like a filter of body that retains the useful products like proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins & minerals. Urea and creatinine are by products of metabolism and are excreted in some amounts, but if filter called kidneys, start to fail, the levels of urea and creatinine start rising in blood and this is an indication of kidney failure. You may need blood dialysis/ abdominal dialysis depending upon various factors, as decided by your treating doctor, so that chronic kidney disease does not become worse. Do consult a renal specialist without delay & remember ckd (chronic kidney disease) can have an effect on an otherwise healthy heart.

On a weight loss programme, you want your body to get most of its energy from fat rather than carbohydrates. In fact, what you want your body to do is to feed on its fat stores. In order for your body to start doing this, your carbohydrate intake will have to be restricted, however, still leaving enough to form glucose for your brain. In terms of your carbohydrates, you can either reduce or eliminate some foods from your diet, for example, flour, biscuit, rice, soda and pastries. These can be substituted with either ground provisions, steamed vegetables, vegetable juices or fruits, although it's always best to eat the fruits rather than drink the fruit juices. Try to reduce the amount of fatty and oily foods in your diet. Your overall aim is to be healthy and reduce your calorie intake. As such, you need to start or increase your exercise programme. If you are just starting your exercise programme, it is best to start slowly at first and then gradually increase as you go along.

It could be due to prolonged standing/sitting/Excess salt intake/Less hemoglobin/ kidney problem. Get your urine examined for Re/Me, test your blood for hemoglobin. Blood urea/uric acid/creatimine and consult doct or with report for advice and treatment. Avoid prolong sitting/standing. Keep your foot end elevated, take less salt in diet.
