Sudden Cardiac Arrest: What to Do?

Sudden Cardiac Arrest: What to Do?

Cardiac arrest is reported to be the number one cause of sudden death for people over the age of 40. As it strikes fast and without prior warning, it usually leaves no time for getting help to the patient. Many lives can be saved if the necessary first aid is given immediately by people who know what to do in case of a cardiac arrest.

So first let us know about the signs of a cardiac arrest:

  1. Loss of consciousness: A person may feel dizzy, sweat, faint or collapse suddenly. You can tell if someone has just fainted and not had a cardiac arrest if they are still breathing or have a pulse.
  2. No breathing
  3. No pulse
  4. Muscle twitching.

Now that you have recognized the signs; here is what you can do:

  1. Call the ambulance and try getting an emergency medical professional to attend to the person.
  2. If professional help isn't available, emergency resuscitation measures must begin. An automated external defibrillator (AED) can rapidly determine whether the person has an abnormal heart rhythm that can be treated by an electric shock (called defibrillation). AEDs are available in many public gathering places, such as stadiums and concert halls. An AED is used before calling for help and before attempting cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) because an AED is more likely to save lives. If the AED detects ventricular fibrillation, it provides an electrical shock (defibrillation) that can restore normal heart rhythm and start the heart beating again. Emergency medical care should be obtained even if the heart has started beating again. If a person remains in cardiac arrest after an AED is used, CPR should be done.
  3. If a person remains in cardiac arrest after an AED is used, other measures are begun, such as opening the airway and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
  4. CPR combines artificial respiration (mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, or rescue breathing) to supply oxygen to the lungs with chest compressions, which circulate oxygen to the brain and other vital organs by forcing blood out of the heart.

To do CPR (artificial respiration), the rescuer's mouth covers the person's mouth and then rescuer slowly exhales air into the person's lungs (rescue breaths). The person's airway must remain opened during artificial respiration. To prevent air from escaping from the person's nose, the person's nose can be pinched shut as the rescuer exhales into the mouth.

Talk to your doctor to find out if you are at risk of a cardiac arrest.

I am having irregular periods since 2 months last month took crime ncr to get my periods. What is tge reason.

I am having irregular periods since 2 months last month took crime ncr to get my periods. What is tge reason.
Irregular period is usually defined as any type of bleeding that's abnormal when compared to your last few menstrual cycles. It can include everything from a late period to early bleeding, and scant bleeding to extremely heaving bleeding. For many women, this can even mean an absent period (amenorrhea) or two periods in one month (metrorrhagia). It's actually a way of your body telling you something is not right and probably your hormones (especially estrogen and progesterone) are imbalanced. Although, in most cases, they are not dangerous, but it is important to figure out what is causing the irregularity (which may require a trip to the doctor). RESAONS/ CAUSES: Some common reasons for irregular periods: STRESS: Stress is the most common cause of irregular periods. Cortisol, the stress hormone, has a direct impact on how much estrogen and progesterone, two sex hormones, gets produced by the body. POOR DIET: Unhealthy eating and being overweight or underweight can cause irregular periods. In order for a woman to maintain a regular cycle, her body fat percentage needs to be at least 17-22 percent. EXCESSIVE EXERCISE: Excessive exercising (or even lack of it) and drastic weight changes can decrease the body fat, being underweight can offset your hormone levels, thus contributing to irregular periods. BIRTH CONTROL PILLS: When some women stop taking the pill, their periods may take one to three months to return to normal. And this can also reveal an underlying hormonal problem that was masked by taking the birth control pills. PCOS: Polycystic ovary syndrome causes cysts to form on the ovaries, interfering with regular ovulation. In fact, PCOS is far more complicated than a missed period. Talk to your doctor about this condition. THYROID: Thyroid disorders, including hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, can cause widespread symptoms like changes in estrogen and cortisol hormones and missed periods. OTHER REASONS: Some other reasons include perimenopause, menopause, pregnancy, certain medications you might be taking due to other health issues, and breastfeeding. To treat irregular periods, Hormone-balancing herbs may be used for restoring the balance to your upset Endocrine system. A good choice is chaste tree berry (VITEX) in the majority of cases as it helps to regulate the female gynecological system. It is most frequently used for menstrual complaints in women. It works by normalizing the secretions of the pituitary gland, hypothalamus, and ovaries, which then appropriately signal to balance the endocrine system. In addtiton, follow these tips to keep a healthy menstruating body: Take 1 tablespoon of Shatavari and Ashwagandha mixture (mixed in equal parts) powder with warm milk daily at nighttime before going to bed. It is also a hormone balancing herb and restores healthy menstruation. Gamma linoleic acid (GLA) helps balance the female system. Take one capsule of black currant seed oil or evening primrose oil a day. GLA can also help aching eyes, fuzzy head, bloating, fatigue, and other premenstrual symptoms. Keep your circulatory system healthy; exercise and breathe deeply. Avoid tea, coffee, and alcohol. They are all known to disturb hormonal balance, increase sugar imbalances, and congest the liver. If you have sugar cravings, eat fruit or choose bitter and sour foods, which will offset the craving for sweetness. You must increase calcium and magnesium intake to ensure that your physical and nutritional needs in general are met. Also, make sure that your intake of iron and folic acid is adequate. Hope this helps.

Eat healthy, including plenty of fruit and vegetables in your meals. Drink water throughout the day to stay well hydrated and choose the right snacks. As well helping you lose weight at a healthy pace, it will also make sure you have the energy to adjust to life with your newborn. These tips will help you to achieve and maintain a healthy weight: make time for breakfast in the morning. Eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day. Include plenty of fibre-rich foods such as oats, beans, lentils, grains and seeds in your meals. Include starchy foods such as bread, rice and pasta (preferably wholegrain varieties for added fibre) in every meal. Go easy on fatty and sugary foods, takeaways, fast food, sweets, cakes etc watch your portion sizes at mealtimes, and the number and type of snacks you eat between meals. Combining healthy eating with exercise will be the most effective, because it helps you to lose fat instead of lean tissue. You will also improve your fitness levels. Now that you have a newborn, can be tricky. But it's not impossible, as long as you make it a priority. You can start to do some gentle exercise such as walking, pelvic floor exercises and stretching, as soon as you feel up to it. However, you should wait six weeks or so, or until you feel that you've recovered from the birth, before taking up more strenuous exercise. For more detail on diet plan contact through private text on lybrate.

Delayed periods - oligomenorrhea- 5 natural ways

An irregular period, medically known as oligomenorrhea , is a common problem among women. It usually refers to
infrequent periods with intervals of more than 35 days.
A normal menstrual cycle ranges from 21 to 35 days. Menstrual bleeding
generally lasts for two to seven days.
Women normally have 11 to 13 periods
in a year, but those with oligomenorrhea
may have fewer than six or seven
periods.
1. Ginger
Ginger is highly beneficial in regulating
menstrual cycles and also relieving
menstrual pain. It promotes
menstruation and hence is good when
dealing with delayed or scanty periods.
1. Boil one-half teaspoon of freshly
ground ginger in a cup of water for five to seven minutes.
2. Add a little sugar.
3. Drink this three times a day after
meals.
4. Do this for about one month or more.
2. Cinnamon
Cinnamon contains hydroxychalcone that
helps regulate insulin levels and is
suspected to have an effect on
menstrual regularity.
Simply add one-half teaspoon of
cinnamon powder to a glass of milk.
Drink this daily for several weeks.
You can also drink cinnamon tea,
sprinkle cinnamon on your foods, or
chew cinnamon sticks regularly.

3. Sesame Seeds and Jaggery
Sesame seeds are useful in regulating
menstrual cycles as they help balance
your hormones. They are loaded with
lignans that help bind excess hormones.
Plus, they contain essential fatty acids
that promote optimal hormone
production. Jaggery, too, helps regulate
menstrual cycles due to its warming
effects.
1. Dry roast a handful of sesame seeds.
2. Grind them along with one teaspoon of jaggery into a fine powder.
3. Take one teaspoon of this powder daily on an empty stomach in the luteal phase, or second half of your menstrual cycle (two weeks before your period starts), for a few months. Simply eating a piece of jaggery, also known as gur, will also help regulate menstruation.
Note: Do not use this remedy during
your periods.

4. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera helps treat menstrual
irregularities naturally by regulating your
hormones.
1. Extract fresh aloe vera gel from an aloe leaf.
2. Mix in one teaspoon of honey.
3. Consume it daily before having your breakfast.
4. Follow this remedy for about three months.
Note: Do not use this remedy during
your periods.

5. Unripe Papaya
Green, unripe papaya works as a potent
emmenagogue. It is considered useful
in regulating menstrual flow as it helps
contract muscle fibers in the uterus.
It is particularly useful for irregular
periods associated with menopause and
stress. Consume unripe papaya juice
regularly for a few months. Do not drink
it during your periods.

6. Turmeric
Being a warming herb, turmeric is also
considered helpful in regulating
menstruation and balancing hormones.
Its emmenagogue properties help
stimulate menstrual flow. Moreover, its
antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory
properties relieve menstrual pain.
Consume one-quarter A study analyzing
the effects of cinnamon extract on
menstrual cycles in women with
polycystic ovary syndrome is currently
underway. Of
turmeric with milk, honey or jaggery.
Take it daily for several weeks or
until you see improvement. You can also take turmeric in supplement form; consult your doctor for proper dosage.

Starting of periods means no pregnancy, do not worry, delay in periods is due to hormonal imbalance. Take proper diet, fresh fruits, sound sleep, avoid late night work, overexertion, keep watch on weight. Best luck.

YES. If your relationship is good outside of the bedroom, there’s every chance this will translate into the bedroom. I’ve seen sex lives change from stale to great in just two weeks by each partner saying something they appreciate about each other every day. Showing appreciation regularly like this not only makes you feel better about yourself, it gives a massive romantic boost to your relationship. It takes you back to the very beginning, when we spent the time appreciating and adoring our partner.
