Hi the doctor may have applied a material over exposed portion of cavith for the formation of secondary dentine. It takes some time. If new dentine will be formed he will fill the cavity permanently. If not then rct will be the option. X-ray is helpful to know about the condition. Quit the habit of gutka as it causes lots of serious conditions like cancer, submucous fibrosis and leukoplakia. For temporary relief from pain you can take ketorol dt 2 tabs dissolved in half cup of water or ibuprofen after meal.

Hi doctor my self anupma rathore I am 22 year old girl and I have yellow teeth problem last 6 months what should I do. Thanks.

Hi doctor my self anupma rathore I am 22 year old girl and I have yellow teeth problem last 6 months what should I do...
Hello. When brushing twice a day and flossing doesn't help improve your yellow teeth, it's time to consider other options. Teeth become yellow due to stains – both deep and surface-level – as well as other causes that sometimes aren't under our control. Although coffee and cigarettes leave stains on your teeth over time, thin tooth enamel also makes teeth look yellow. Tooth enamel is the hard, white surface of your teeth, and underneath it is a pale brown substance called dentin. Thick enamel looks white, but thin enamel allows dentin tones to show through, making teeth look yellow from the outside. Enamel naturally wears thin as people age, but acids from foods and drinks such as sour candies, oranges and soda also thin the enamel by eroding its surface. Saliva neutralizes acid and washes it away, but people suffering from dry mouth miss out on this protective effect. Other causes of yellow teeth include antibiotic use or excessive fluoride intake in young children, which can cause yellow-stained adult teeth later. Treatments for certain conditions can also affect tooth color. For example, head and neck radiation and chemotherapy can cause teeth discoloration. In addition, certain infections in pregnant mothers can cause tooth discoloration in the infant by affecting enamel development. Certain medication, mouth rinses can also causes yellow staining. Preventing Yellow Teeth: Avoiding smoking, coffee and soda helps prevent yellow teeth, or you can get into the habit of drinking those darker beverages through a straw. Drink milk or plain water after eating or drinking something acidic to help reduce the acid's eroding effect. Brushing and flossing also help, and avoiding snacks between meals allows your saliva to dilute the acids in your mouth too. Using over-the-counter whitening agents will also helps. Discolorations are generally responsive to bleaching procedures.

Ulcers generally take 1-2 weeks to heal completely. Recurrent ulcers can be due to local mouth conditions such as rough teeth surface or rough mouth appliances or dentures n cheek bites. It can also b due to general nutrtional deficiency, digestion prob, work pressure n stressful lifestyle etc. Certain bacterial n viral infections also cause ulcers. Treatment: start on multivitamin tabs which includes vit c n iron supplements if your hb% levels r low. Apply dologel oral ointment on ulcers thrice daily. Avoid stress n spicy n oily food, alcohol, tea n coffee. Drink plenty of water n hv fibrous n citrous foods. Visit dentist to rule out oral factors responsible for ulcers.

Hi. My mouth is getting smell very badly. How can I cure it. Am having khane habit too. [hans]

Hi. My mouth is getting smell very badly. How can I cure it. Am having khane habit too. [hans]
Dear, Main causes of bad breath include: Tobacco: tobacco products cause their own types of mouth odor. Additionally, they increase the chances of gum disease which can also cause bad breath Food: the breakdown of food particles stuck in the teeth can cause odors. Some foods such as onions and garlic can also cause bad breath. Dry mouth: saliva naturally cleans the mouth. If the mouth is naturally dry (for instance, in the morning) or is dry due to a specific disease (such as xerostomia ), odors can build up Dental hygiene: brushing and flossing ensure the removal of small particles of food that can build up and slowly break down, producing odor. Crash diets / Fasting : fasting and low-carbohydrate eating programs can produce halitosis. Drugs/Medicines : certain medications can reduce saliva and, therefore, increase odors. Other drugs can produce odors as they breakdown and release chemicals in the breath. Mouth, nose and throat conditions: sometimes small, bacteria covered stones can form on the tonsils at the back of the throat and produce odor. Diseases: some cancers, liver failure and other metabolic diseases can cause halitosis due to specific mixes of chemicals that they produce. Lifestyle and home remedies for bad breath include: Brush teeth: brush at least twice a day, but preferably after each meal Floss: flossing reduces the build-up of food particles and plaque from between the teeth - brushing only cleans around 60% of the surface of the tooth Clean dentures: anything that goes into your mouth - dentures, bridge, mouth guard - should be cleaned as recommended on a daily basis. Brush tongue: bacteria, food and dead cells commonly build up on the tongue, especially in smokers so brushing the tongue is beneficial for that. Avoid dry mouth: drink plenty of water. Avoid alcohol and tobacco, both of which dehydrate the mouth. Chewing gum or sucking a sweet (preferably sugar-free) can help stimulate the production of saliva. Diet: avoid onions, garlic and spicy food. Sugary foods are also linked to bad breath. Reduce coffee and alcohol consumption. If all above don't work then it's recommended to go for a good dentist. Let me know if I can help you in any possible way. HAVE A GREAT AND HEALTHY LIFE AHEAD :) Regards, Dr. Shalini Tolani.

She is having fainting episodes due to a phenomenon called syncope in which there is a sudden fall of bp. Even tooth pain itself can cause this. It could also happen if she is allergic to the medicine. Stop the medicine. Get her checked for anemia. Get treatment from a dentist. She should be fine.

I have lines on my tongue. What could be the cause. It gets sore when I eat peppery or hot food. What could possibly be the cause and what treatment should I take?

BDS
Dentist, Indore
Hello lybrate-user, Firstly avoid hot and spicy food intake this can not only result in your tonge damage but also can cause oral sub-mucus fibrosis, it is followed by thickening of jaw muscle fibers due to which there is difficulty in chewing and mouth opening. Primary treatment is to stop spicy and hot food intake then go for physiotherapy at home by adding salt to warm water n rinse thrice or four times daily aslo visit a nearby dentist. THANK YOU
