Hi Doctor, I have been diagnosed with gout (also high uric acid 9.1 ) in the year 2014 from kailash hospital Noida. Doctor prescribed me to take the Zyloric Tablet for a month. After taking the medication my swelling and pain was disappeared. Almost after 6 months again I was suffered the same problem (got the pain on my Big toe on the right leg.) Later I went to Apollo Hospital Bangalore. There I have been told to control the Diet and do some Exercise and continue Zyloric. Pain killers if it is required. There I saw improvement. Afterwards I stopped taking tablets. Then again the swelling started (uric acid was (7.1). Since I am shifted to pune, I am consulting some other Dr. For the past 1 year. I am taking Febugood 80 mg and zycolchin. And ezyact 100 mg (anti-inflammatory tablet, should be on need basis) I would like to know the following 1) is there any permanent cure for Gout? 2) Do I have to suffer throughout my life by taking these medicines? 3) So far I was suffered from gout attack for 3 times. For the Last 2 months I was alright but now again I got some stiffness on my left leg toe finger. Earlier it was on the right leg toe finger side. Again I am continuing the medicine. For how long I should take. ? Is there any way I can get rid of it. 4) What will be the impact on kidney or liver? Is it an indication to some kidney or liver related problems? 5) Please tell me the precautionary steps to get rid of this. Please share your views. It would be of great help.

You need to continue doing tour blood reports every 2 months ,, keep it under control ,, usually it comes under control in 2 yrs time ,, so be patient ,, and continue medicines

Hi, take tab. Shirashooladi vajra ras 1-1-1 with ginger juice. Apply ginger paste on the forehead. Instill cephagraine nasal drops 2 drops to each nostril 3 time a day. You can undergo panchakarma treatment like nasya or shirodhara after checking with an ayurvedic doctor.

Use tea tree face wash and toner twice daily. Use aha glow face wash daily use sunscreen with spf 30 daily. Use natural face pack of multani mitti and lemon 2 times a week. You can also use apple cider vinegar with mother for 5 mins after washing your face and splash it clean with water. Most important is diet- do not eat junk, eat more vegetables and fruits especially with vitamin c.

Hello You need not worry. Drink plenty of water. Take 3 main meals and 2 side meals. Don't skip breakfast. Sleep for 7-9 hours per night. Start your day with peanut butter sandwich. After 2 hours take 500ml milk. After 2 hours take 2-3 chapati with ghee applied along with paneer curry. Evening banana shake. Take apple before workout. After workout take 1 scoop of whey protein powder. Dinner take 2-3 chapati with ghee applied along with paneer or soya curry. Thank you

Hello, this may be because of acidity/ indigestion/ gas you can take(if no drug allergy): 1. Tablet Meftal spas one tablet stat after food 2. Tablet Pantocid 40 mg before food once a day for 2-3 days. And follow care advises given below. Avoid food from outside, junk, fried, spicy fatty food take home made light food like moong dal, Dalia, chapatti also tell me associated symptoms like vomiting sensation, loose motion/ burning sensation in chest or any other symptoms are present or not? so that we can reach diagnosis. Consult physician/me for further management

I suggest you follow the below for your condition: take mag phos 12x - thrice daily for next 2 weeks and update. Also do x-ray of the affected area. Rest. Ceasing activity for a few days allows injured tissue and even nerve roots to begin to heal, which in turn will help relieve lower back pain. However, more than a few days of rest can lead to a weakening of the muscles, and weak muscles have to struggle to adequately support the spine. Patients who do not regularly exercise to build strength and flexibility are more likely to experience recurrent or prolonged lower back pain. Heat and ice packs. Heat and/or cold therapy helps relieve most types of low back pain by reducing inflammation. Often patients use ice, but some prefer heat. Both may be used alternately.

Here are some home remedies to cure acidity...  - Skip the aerated drinks as well as the caffeine. Opt for herbal tea instead.  - Have a glass of lukewarm water everyday.  - Include banana, watermelon and cucumber in your daily diet. Watermelon juice is great for curing acidity.  - Nariyal paani is known to soothe the system if you suffer from acidity.  - Drink a glass of milk - everyday.  - Have your last meal at least two to three hours before you hit the sack.  - Keeping long intervals between meals is another cause for acidity. Have small but regular meals.  - Try to avoid pickles, spicy chutneys, vinegar, etc.  - Boil some mint leaves in water and have a glass of this after meals.

Hello, It's good to reduce weight at right time as many problems are directly related to overweight! Remember, there's no magic bullet for weight loss. The key to losing weight is burning more calories than you consume. Choose a variety of healthy foods — such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean sources of protein — and include physical activity in your daily routine. Go through the following guidelines and implement them in your routine: Management: 1: Drink plenty of water (at least 2-3 l/d) or other calorie-free beverages. 2: Be choosy about nighttime snacks. 3: Enjoy your favorite foods. 4: Have 6 meals per day - 3 main courses and 3 snack meals (snack meals should be healthy). 5: Do regular exercises daily (start with light and later may be little vigorous). Exercise decreases the stress hormone in your body, burns calories and also increases the blood circulation. Preferably brisk walking, swimming, cycling, skipping. 6: Eat seasonal fruits. Fruit helps to satisfy your sweet tooth thanks to its natural sugars, while fresh vegetables help you fill up more quickly. Fruits and vegetables contain fiber to help you feel full quickly. 7: Eat more whole grains and cut simple carbs. Whole wheat bread, oatmeal, whole wheat pasta, sweet potato, and brown rice are all excellent sources of energy and sources of nutrition. 8: Choose lean proteins instead of fatty ones. 9: Cut the salt from your diet. Eating more sodium causes your body to retain water, which can cause you to feel bloated and gain more weight. 10: Don't skip meals. Muscle tissue burns more calories at rest than other tissues, so you're actually working against your goals 11: Eat at home. Going out to eat makes it too easy to cheat. If you're attending a party or going out for a special occasion, allow yourself an indulgence. Just make sure that these indulgences don't become daily habits. 13: Go for a health walk. Gear up yourself daily for a health walk which not only shed off your extra calorie, but also reduces the stress levels. 14: Take small frequent breaks for a quick walk in between as sitting for long hours together encourages the accumulation of fat in the body! Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine - Schwabe's Phytolacca Berry tablets/ thrice daily 1/2 an hr before the meals for 3 months. Thereafter revert me back for further guidance. (Slow and steady weight loss is good. For a good and glowing skin, take a proper sleep, plenty of water, and use a gentle cleansing lotion. Take all the precautions to prevent yourself from Sun. Wear a broad rimmed hat or cover your face with a stole or dupatta whenever you step out in the sun. apply a broad spectrum non comedogenic sunscreen 3 times in a day even if you are indoors on it is cloudy outside. Avoid excessive usage of mobile/laptop. Nutritious diet rich in antioxidants(green vegetables and fresh fruits) and avoidance of stress will help. oral medicine and depigmenting creams or facewash can be given to you for improving your condition depending upon your specific skin type. A picture of the affected area will help.

Dehydration and Its Home Remedies

Dehydration, in simple words, is shortage of water in the body. Every cell in the body needs water in order to function properly. In fact, an adult's body weight is 60% water, while an infant's is up to 80% water. Other than oxygen, there is nothing that the body needs more than water.

Water - the irreplaceable

Water is so important because it has many critical functions in the body. Among other activities, water:

* lubricates the joints and connective tissues

* helps digest the food

* liquifies the mucus when you have got a cold

* eliminates bodily heat through sweat

* carries oxygen, carbohydrates and fats to working muscles

* flushes waste from the body through urine

* boosts endurance during prolonged exercise

* wards off bladder infections by washing out harmful bacteria

* helps curb your appetite

* plumps up wrinkles

* quenches thirst

Types of dehydration;

Mild, moderate and severe are the three types of dehydration. In mild dehydration, body loses 5% of its fluid. Once the loss of body fluid reaches 10%, it is moderate dehydration where medical attention is required. Once the loss of body fluid reaches 15%, it is severe dehydration where the affected person should be hospitalized immediately for intravenous replacement of fluids. In summer one could have lot of sweating which is very normal as the body balances its temperature. The only precaution that could prevent any type of dehydration is to replace lost fluid by drinking plenty of water regularly. Make it a point to take a minimum of 3 litres of water daily.

Causative factors;

Dehydration can happen due to:

* insufficient liquid/water intake

* excessive loss of fluids due to diarrhea, vomiting and sunstroke

Signs and symptoms:

* furious thirst

* dizziness or nausea

* extreme exhaustion

* loss of elasticity of skin and wrinkling

* reduced urination

* easily irritable

* headache

* dry tongue

* weakness


Treatment - home remedies

In mild cases of dehydration, the treatment is following the simple thumb rule of replacing the lost fluid. Non-alcoholic drinks may be given in plenty. Coconut water is the best. The oral dehydration solutions and sachets are available, which are easy to use. The following are some of the home remedies:

* drink plenty of water by adding sugar or salt to it.

* take yogurt, buttermilk, mint, apple, pomegranate, papaya, banana, carrot, potato, etc.

* add a few drops of pudinhara to half a cup of water and drink 3 - 4 times.

* drink a mixture of 1 tsf mint juice, 1/2 tsf ginger juie and 1 tsf honey.

* drink 1/2 tsf of dry ginger powder in 1 cup of buttermilk, 3 - 4 times a day.

* chew a few pieces of inner lining of pomegranate with salt and/or drink pomegranate juice.

* prepare a mixture by adding 1/2 tsf lemon juice, 1/2 tsf ginger juice and 1/4 tsf pepper powder and drink it.

* roast 1/2 tsf cumin (jeera) seeds and 1/2 tsf fenugreek seeds; mix and powder it, add to 4 tsf of yogurt, take it thrice a day.

* grate one raw papaya. Add 3 cups of water, boil for 10 mins, strain and finish the water in one day.

* stew apple with 2 pinches of nutmeg powder and 1 tsf sugar and eat it.

* eat plenty of fresh fruits.

* eat one green banana every two to four hours until symptoms subside.

* food rich in potassium are important to restore the body's essential stores depleted during diarrhea. Such foods include lentils, bananas, mangoes, pineapples, coconut milk and citrus fruits.

* avoid alcohol and caffeine, apticots, peas, pears, peaches, plums, prunes, etc. During dehydration.
