5 Symptoms A Woman Should Never Ignore
Five symptoms a woman should never ignore

Most women tend to ignore their own well-being. A woman's health deteriorates faster as she ages, therefore women must go for complete body checkups regularly. Here are few symptoms to be cautious about and if you notice any of these, do visit your doctor soon.

1. A lump or a cyst - a breast lump is not to be ignored. If you detect/feel a suspicious breast lump, remember it could be a cyst. Now the cyst could be benign or otherwise, best to let the specialists find that out for you. Get a breast examination done at the soonest.
2. Shortness of breath - this is a very common problem amongst women and is an indicator for cardiac problems, even an impending heart attack. If shortness of breath is a common occurrence, also followed by fatigue, dizziness, etc, schedule a check-up pronto. Chest pain and nausea should be given immediate medical assistance.
3. Inability to sleep - an occasional sleepless night is fine but if this has become a habit and you have major difficulty in falling asleep regularly, this could be an issue. This usually happens to women when they enter menopause. Women need to get ample sleep, and if there are disturbances in your sleep, please consult your doctor.
4. Headaches - frequent headaches which occur at levels which are unbearable are not to be taken lightly. Headaches could be symptoms of stroke, brain infections or tumor or other ailments.
5. Pain in intercourse - sex should not be painful. If it hurts, something is wrong and your body is most likely trying to tell you something. This could be to do with any of the gynecological problems, so better see your ob-gyn soon.

I have missed my periods, it is been 1.5 months as of today, also checked for pregnancy it is negative

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, FMAS, DMAS, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Noida
Hello, If you are dealyed by more than a month and your pregnacy test is negative , then your delay is likely to be due to hormonal imbalance. Get a hormonal profile and a ultrasound pelvis done. If the endometrial thickness is more than 10mm and no pregnancy , then you can opt for a withdrawal bleed with progestins to resume your menses. Other cause to be ruled out is PCOS , Regards

If you are taking oral contraceptives regularly then there is no need to take I pill as oral contraceptives will prevent the pregnancy but if you were not regular with them then it's ok and periods might be delayed because of hormones disturbances ad both these medicines are hormone tablets your chances of pregnancy are very rare.

If you are overdue by one week, repeat the urine pregnancy test. Periods can be delayed by this medicine as it is a hormonal pill. Wait and watch for one week at least.

Hi Chandrani, as you are 44 year your chances of natural conception would be low as 10% due to low egg reserve. Thyroid problem can be counteracted with medications but this is high time you should try for baby soon , since treatment options are their I would suggest you go for IVF.

Yes, it is quite normal to have spotting at the time of ovulation, though not all women experience this. During the first half of the cycle, the hormone oestrogen is predominant. This causes the lining of the uterus to grow and become thickened, ready for implantation of the egg.

Main cause of Unconsummation in females.

MD-Dermatology, MBBS
Sexologist, Pune
Main cause of Unconsummation in females.
UNCONSUMMATION DUE TO VAGINISMUS

Recurrent or persistent involuntary spasm of the musculature of the outer third of the vagina that interferes with sexual intercourse.
Vaginismus may be mild, moderate or severe. In some females, even the anticipation of vaginal insertion may result in muscle spasm and prevention of penetration. Desire, pleasure and orgasmic capacity may not be impaired. The condition may disrupt relationship. Unconsummated marriage and infertility have been found to be associated with condition. Diagnosis is made during the routine gynecological examination when the contraction of vaginal outlet is observed. Contraction of the muscles may cause pain.
In some vaginismus cases occurs during sexual activity but not during gynecological examination. This disorder found more in younger women. Vaginismus is a psychosomatic problem. Women can experience orgasm by getting effective sexual stimulation, without penetration. Husband may become ‘impotent’ being persistently unsuccessful in penetration or because of not wanting to hurt his wife. We are treating such cases at WNHO Clinic, Pune. Detail Information help line Mob. No. 9822006427.

ITS QUITE NORMAL. YOU ARE UNAWARE OF THE FACT THAT IN ANY HEALTHY COUPLE ABOUT 60% OF THE SPERMS COME OUT OF VAGINA. ONLY 40% GO IN THE UTERUS AND ONLY 1 ACHIEVES PREGNANCY. TRY TO GET INVESTIGATED FOR OTHER FACTORS . WAHT YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT IS COMPLETELY NORMAL
