I had unprotected sex but after 30 min I took unwanted 72 are there chances of having ectopic pregnancy.

MBBS, DGO
Obstetrician, Pune
I had unprotected sex but after 30 min I took unwanted 72 are there chances of having ectopic pregnancy.
It can not be said that whether any chance of ectopic or not. But yes there is definetly very less chance of pregnancy it self if you have taken unwanted 72. But if failure happen than you can not say whether it is going to be normal or ectopic pregnancy. Both are different things and not much correlated. Yes theoraticaly there is more chance of ectopic pregnancy while on tablets. But you just had one hormonal tablets so there is further more less chance. So don't worry. Wait for your menses and if not comes than do urine pregnancy test and confirm. Yes it can delay your menses or even menses can be irregular while you take unwanted 72. You can bleed within 3 to 4 days for 1 day due to unwanted 72 and than again you may have your period. This may happen or may not. It depends on day of you cycle and levels of hormones (Chemicals) in your body. Mostly you will get your period. And there is less chance of ectopic than normal couple having unprotected sex without unwanted 72.

I am 25 year old 9 week pregnant. I'm working so I daily travel in bike, train and share auto. Is it risky to travel in all those in daily basis. What precautions need to be followed. Or shall I quit the job. Thanks in advance.

MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Ludhiana
Hi , congrats for good news. No you needn't to quit your job, but take care of yourself more than before. You can travel in public transport but keep in hand some extra time margin so you need not to rush anytime. Doing the job will keep you active & positive. Have healthy diet, adequate sleep, regular light exercise & daily prayer is must during pregnancy.

In Blood pregnancy test reports comes in negative or positive or in values. Please tell sir.
Blood is tested for hcg hormone which is the pregnancy hormone and it gets positive before the period is due right after conception occurs. There is spurt in value of this hormone as pregnancy advances and there are charts to find out if weeks of pregnancy coincide with the level of hormone so that the risk of miscarriage can be explained to mother and injection hcg can be given. In tubal pregnancy, if fetus is dead the levels of this hormone keeps falling and woman can be saved surgical intervention, medical treatment can be carried out to treat a case of tubal pregnancy.

Do not worry repeat the scan after a week. Sometimes the scan shows the pregnancy sac a little later. If still it shows no sac then consult your gynaecologist as it could be an ectopic pregnancy.

Hello, Lack of internal lubrication causes painful sex. Vaginal pain can even radiate towards anus. I recommend you to use artificial lubricants during sex and increase fat specially cows ghee in her meals so that it can increase her internal vaginal secretion naturally.

I don't have a stable mind. I cannot decide between 2 things and I feel sad almost all time. There's no satisfaction ...
It is good that you have realized at young age that you do not have a stable mind, it is your problem and you are going to solve it minus medicines or doctors. May be you are surrounded by too many relatives and friends, try to be a loner for few days, go for long walks all alone, you will be able to take a decision better, but make sure about difficult decisions taken after giving maximum trials are not to be reverted back, come what may, some kind of emotional abuse / lure of money to walk on easier path. The person who gives a chance to others/ self to reform but fails has got only one option - to reform self by taking 1 decision at a time and work hard to make it a success to reassure self. Good luck, do write back.
