Will you please suggest me to cure my pimple problems and their dark spots n sometimes pores.
Hi. Wash your face with Bakson's Facewash (wash your face with warm water only) and followed by CTMP, i. E. Cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally Sunscreen Gel with SPF-30) after washing your face daily. Prevention: -Take healthy food only and avoid unhealthy ones (although sebaceous glands are not excretory glands then as well!) as what you eat is reflected on your face! -Avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension as it encourages secretion of stress hormone in the body as thus affects skin or any other tissue of the body. -Drink atleast 8-10 glasses of water in a day. -Take 6-8hrs. Of sound sleep everyday. -Don't use others towels, handkerchief on your face as well as never share yours. -Never ever rub your face as it damages the skin (even towel should be dab on skin softly) and break outs of acne get worsened! -Maintain hygiene, wash your face 2-3times in a day, changes the pillow covers, bed sheet daily, use cotton bed sheet only (try to sleep on your back). Home-made remedies: - Take 1 tbsp of fuller's earth (multani mitti) + a dash of lime + bit of rosewater – apply this on your face till it gets dried up, then rinse it off. - Take 1 tsp of Alum (or fitkari), make it slightly wet with water and apply this on your wet face, spread it well; let it dry and rinse it off. Alum remove your excessive moisture or oil and it also tightens the skin's tonicity. Medication: You can take homoeopathic medicines – Berberis Aquefolium Q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice a day (and for local application as well) and Kali Brom. 200/ thrice a day – for 30 days. For open pores; Open pores can be the result of lack of proper cleansing resulting in the deposit of oil, dirt or even dead skin in your pores. It is extremely important that you follow the ritual of a face clean at least once a week which includes a massage with a cream, exfoliation for the removal of dead skin cells and a face pack to close the pores opened while the process of exfoliation. This basic routine makes sure that your skin is always prepped up, cleansed and clear of impurities. - Lemons are one of the most widely used herbal remedy to shrink the open pores as they naturally tighten the skin and brighten it too. -Fruits like Papaya are best known for their exfoliation properties. Using a papaya for cleaning the face not only scrubs away all the impurities but also helps in removing black heads and other impurities of the skin. -Egg whites work as natural dryers of the skin and thus they greatly help in shrinking the pores and helping with the problem of open pores. -Another way of dealing with the problem of open pores is yoghurt. -Fuller’s earth is an excellent medium to control excessive oil and cleansing the skin gently and deeply. -Natural Astringent: there are several other natural astringents which can be used on the skin for the treatment of open pores like peach, pineapple, orange, strawberries and other citrus fruits. Apart from these, you can also use rose water and aloe vera gel for open pores.

Why should there is an pain occurs in an back side of our body when we sitting from hours of working at an place such as colleges and industry.

Doctor Of Physical Therapy (DPT), Bachelor of Physical Therapy

Why should there is an pain occurs in an back side of our body when we sitting from hours of working at an place such...
Sitting is the position where all the load of your upper body falls on the lower back and poor stooped posture makes the load much more than your weight due to gravity acting as added force. Prolonged sitting fatigues your postural muscles and they start hurting. Also too much force on discs makes them degenerate and cause pain. A detailed exercise program prescribed by an orthopaedic physiotherapist can help strengthen back and reduce pain.

Hi. My mother has been diagnosed with reactive depression. She is 45 years old. My father passed away last year and the doctor has said that she is even in the menopause stage. She has been prescribed with 2 anti depressants. May I know whether these medications will become permanent or are safe for short time? and what will be the potential side effects?

MBBS, MD - Psychiatry, CE (New York)
Psychiatrist, Delhi
Antidepressants are safe medications. They do not cause any harm to mind/brain and are not habit forming. They should be taken for adequate period so that symptoms don't recur.

It is not so the one who has pcos will have infertility as well. Pcos is basically a lifestyle disorder with hormonal imbalance, it does not have complete cure, but it can be managed with lifestyle changes, such as start doing some exercise daily, healthy diet intake without skipping meals, avoid coffee, take fruits, vegetable and dairy products.

Hello, As you know the skin becomes very dry, cracked in Ichthyosis, so need to care more of your skin (sp. in winters)! These measures may be beneficial: A large variety of unscented moisturizers. Use of moisture retaining creams or ointments such as Petrolatum which helps in maintaining the skin moisture. Some times exposure to sunlight can improve the condition. Use cotton clothes always (including inners as well). Take long soaking baths to soften the skin. Then use a roughly-textured sponge, such as a loofa sponge, to remove the thickened scales. Choose mild soaps that have added oils and fats. Avoid deodorant and antibacterial soaps, which are especially harsh on dry skin. After washing or bathing, gently pat or blot your skin dry with a towel so that some moisture remains on the skin (never ever rub the area). Apply the moisturizer or lubricating cream while your skin is still wet or moist from bathing. Petroleum jelly is a good choice. Cover the treated areas with plastic wrap to keep the petroleum jelly from staining clothes and furniture. Use a portable home humidifier or one attached to your furnace to add moisture to the air inside your home. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines which are safe ? Schwabe's Alfaalfa Tonic, Psorinum 200/ once daily and Petroleum 200/ twice daily, take them for 1 month. Use Schwabe's Skin care bathing bar, Calendula & Aloe vera all purpose cream, Bakson's Body oil to be applied.

How to reduce the yellowness of the teeth as soon as possible?

MDS, BDS
Dentist,
Dear , Firstly, you should go for a round of Oral Prophylaxis which should include Scaling and Polishing ideally. Once that is done and you are still seeking a brighter shade for your teeth, you can go for Teeth Whitening procedures which include options like Home Bleach, In-office Whitening and Power Whitening (using light-activated systems like Pola Office Plus and Zoom). A session of Oral Prophylaxis can also be followed up with a session of Power Whitening in the same appointment, if you so desire and the Cosmetic Dentist deems it suitable, and you can return home in a couple of hours with a dazzling transformed smile.

I am suffering from cold and headache peases refer me some medicine.

MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
Endocrinologist,
I am suffering from cold and headache peases refer me some medicine.
YOU CAN TAKE TAB.SINAREST TWICE A DAY.FOR 5 DAYS. Sneezing, sore throat, a stuffy nose, coughing - everyone knows the symptoms of the common cold. It is probably the most common illness. In the course of a year, people in the united states suffer 1 billion colds. What can you do for your cold or cough symptoms? besides drinking plenty of fluids and getting plenty of rest, you may want to take medicines. There are lots of different cold and cough medicines, and they do different things. Nasal decongestants - unclog a stuffy nose Cough suppressants - quiet a cough Expectorants - loosen mucus so you can cough it up Antihistamines - stop runny noses and sneezing Pain relievers - ease fever, headaches, and minor aches and pains Here are some other things to keep in mind about cold and cough medicines. Read labels, because many cold and cough medicines contain the same active ingredients. Taking too much of certain pain relievers can lead to serious injury. Do not give cough medicines to children under four, and don't give aspirin to children. Finally, antibiotics won't help a cold.

Frequent Mood Swings - 4 Ways to Manage them!

DPM, MBBS
Psychiatrist, Mumbai
Frequent Mood Swings - 4 Ways to Manage them!

What are mood swings?
Mood swings are defined as sudden and abrupt changes in mood. These mood swings can sometimes help promote problem solving abilities, but a stronger form of these can be associated to a more complex disorder namely, bipolar disorder that is characterised by the cyclical shift from manic to depressive and vice versa.

What causes mood swings?
There are several things that can trigger mood swings starting from your brain chemistry to substance abuse. The most common cause of moods swings can be-

  1. Abnormal levels of neurotransmitters (NTs) in the brain (ex. Serotonin is majorly responsible for change in moods, changes in emotional state and sleep)
  2. Anabolic steroid abuse
  3. Borderline personality Disorder
  4. Autism or other pervasive developmental disorders
  5. Epilepsy
  6. Premenstrual Syndrome
  7. Schizophrenia
  8. Major depression
  9. Post traumatic stress disorder

How to deal with mood swings?
Mood swings can make life difficult for yourself and those around you as well. It is advisable to keep your mood swings under control in order to get along with your life normally.

  1. Try to remain positive: May be you have had a string of heartbreaks off late or failed interviews, but do not let that define a trend in your life. This can lead to depression and make you upset. Keep your mind open to other possibilities and never lose hope. Hope is something that keeps one going; it gives someone a purpose in life.
  2. Balance your life: Learn to maintain a balance between work and leisure. Don’t make your life all about work, take small breaks to do what you like (perhaps read a book, or play an instrument).
  3. Accept the grey in your life:  “Life is like a box of chocolates”. You will never know what comes your way. It is never just black and white. Learn to accept that life can go a little downhill sometimes, but don’t be too alarmed by that. Enjoy the best and always keep yourself prepared for the worse.
  4. Learn to laugh:  Enjoy and appreciate the little things around you. It might surprise you, if you consciously look around with an open mind, you will see the miniscule things that may make you laugh. Maybe that neighbour you find annoying is actually a fun guy to be with or that aunty who is always badgering you with questions is actually concerned about you. And most of all learn how to laugh at yourself! People have made a career over doing that. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. You are more fun than you expected to be. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a psychiatrist and ask a free question.
