Take protein rich food ---eggs, milk products, dry fruits, seeds, pulses, mutter, soya bean. Cereals, potatoes, sweet potatoes, plantains etc. Can be useful for gaining weight. Also take vegetables, greens and fruits. Have vigorous physical exercise to improve digestion and absorption of food as well as blood circulation. Eat at regular intervals. ’m a 28years old male that was diagnosed with a partial ACL tear in my right knee. I’ve been living with it for 4 years. I’m not nearly as strong lifting or explosive jumping and running and my knee feels tight and weak for days after heavy sports or leg workouts, although it does’t buckle. What would be your thoughts on my situation? Grade || signal intensity in body and posterior horn of the medical meniscus, suggestive of tear. Medical serpiginous low signal intensity lesions on T1 W with central hyperintense signal on T2 W images involving medical and lateral femoral, lower 1/3 shaft of femur likely to represent bony infarcts. Small osteochondral defect with partial loss articular cartilage at lateral femoral condale. Minimal joint effusion Uric acid also high side (end line) 7.1. Thanks.

Partial acl tear usually do not need surgery. Moreover you symptoms are not due to ligament insufficiency. Partial articular cartilage defects are left as such. Grade 2 signal in meniscus are usually not symptomatic. It may not be wise to suggest anything without clinical examination and mri films, but as per your symptoms and mri report, I think you should focus on quadriceps and hamstring strengthening exercises. Any surgery is less likely to improve your symptoms.

Does she have pain in both joints or one only at her age its common to have dgenerativre diseases of bones the first thing she must do is not to sit on the floor she should sit about 1 1/2 feet above the ground level use only western toilet this will reduce the pain and delay the degenerative process get an xray to see what the problem is let me know after the xray is done.

Hye. Thanks for the query. There must be some change, either in your eating habits, activity levels or stress that has caused weight gain. Also lack of physical activity may have stopped or reduced leading to weight gain. Also your poor eating habits, lack of exercise may have led to hypothyroidism. There’s no overnight fix when it comes to healthy weight loss, but you can adjust your lifestyle to promote quick, natural weight loss for the benefit of your health and your appearance. Successful, long-term weight management needs to focus on more than the food you eat and the pounds you lose. It needs to focus on your overall health. Reshape your body and your lifestyle by adopting healthy habits and breaking unhealthy ones. Replace all processed foods in your diet with vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low-fat dairy, lean meats, eggs, legumes, nuts, seeds and seafood. Focus on the variety of whole, unprocessed foods you can eat instead of dwelling on the junk food you eliminated from your diet. Eat smaller portions at every meal and avoid going back for seconds. Take a smaller scoop of rice, half of a piece of chicken instead of a whole piece and one less egg in your morning omelet, for example. Make time for breakfast every morning. Eating breakfast helps prevent overeating and is a habit of people who successfully lose weight. Pack to-go meals instead of eating convenience foods when you’re not home. Store foods like chopped fruits and vegetables or cooked grains, legumes, eggs and meats in your refrigerator so you always have something to grab when you’re in a rush. Buy fresh vegetables and fruits from the grocery store if you forget to bring healthful food from home. When you can’t avoid dining at a restaurant, opt for a salad as a starter, and always ask for the dressing on the side. Clear soups, lean meats, seafood and grain-based dishes like roti, whole grain bread are other good choices. Exercise for 30 to 60 minutes at least three times per week to build muscle and burn more calories. Pilates, strength training, aerobics, swimming, dancing and yoga or a sport like football are ideal choices. If you’re new to exercising, start with brisk walking and jogging. Adopt physically demanding hobbies like bicycling, hiking, jogging, power walking to promote faster weight loss. If you don’t have time for new hobbies, increase your physical activity with things like walking the dog, playing with the kids or jogging instead of driving to a nearby store or taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

You need to be checked by a qualified doctor..physical examination is a must. Normally simple muscle strain or joint sprains will respond to pain killers ...its not so in your case. The GP will decide if you need any test and specialist consultation. Three month is s long time to wait any more...don't wonder in the dark just taking pain killers.

Warm regards lack of sleep can be really frustrating and is a welcome board for a series of health hazards. At your age sleep of minimum 7 hrs is a must. Try these tips 1. Drink a glass of plain milk before going to bed. 2. Avoid caffeinated beverages or drinks in evening, for eg. Tea, coffee etc. 3. Also do light exercises in morning. 4. Do deep breathing 27 times before sleeping. 5. You can listen to calm soothing music while sleeping. 6. Avoid daytime sleep. 7. Keep your cellphone 15 feets away from your body while sleeping. If all these doesn't help revert back.

Dear lybrateuser, - To build your body you have to build muscles by consuming a well balanced diet with more of proteins & do regular exercise - have fruits, vegetables, whole grains, protein foods like eggs, milk & milk products, yogurt, cheese, paneer, butter milk, soya products, tofu, legumes including beans, lentils, pulses, sprouts, peas, nuts like almonds, walnuts, pista, cashews, peanuts - do regular exercise like jogging, swimming, play a game, do moderate weight lifting 2-3 times a day also pushups, pull ups, yoga to build your muscles & keep you fit - consult a dietician on forum for your calorie & protein requirement, follow the diet plan along with an exercise schedule.

When you are trying to gain weight, you should eat food the rich in vitamins and minerals. 1. Healthy food includes meat, egg, milk, fruit vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Cashews, almonds, dates, walnuts, dry grapes, apricots, peaches are some of the dried fruits and nuts that can be added to breakfast, salads, cereal and desserts. Hye, Thanks for the query. It's possible that you are not eating right because of fear and losing weight because of your condition. Being underweight can be a concern if it's the result of poor nutrition. Here are some healthy ways to gain weight when you're underweight: Eat more frequently. When you're underweight, you may feel full faster. Eat five to six smaller meals during the day rather than two or three large meals. Choose nutrient-rich foods. As part of an overall healthy diet, choose whole-grain breads, roti, unpolished rice and cereals; fruits and vegetables; dairy products; lean protein sources; and nuts. Don't fill up on diet soda, coffee and other drinks with few calories and little nutritional value. Instead, drink smoothies or healthy shakes. Snack on nuts, dried fruits and fresh fruits. Even when you're underweight, be mindful of excess sugar and fat. An occasional slice of cake or ice cream is fine. Avoid refined processed and packaged foods. Concentrate on whole grains vegetables fruits. Fluids is a very important factor to avoid constipation. Drinking warm water regularly will help.
