My height is 5'9" My concern is to put on some weight, for this I am doing weight lifting in the gym for 3 months and my weight has gone from 55 to the current weight 59 kg. How much more weight should I increase to suit my height weight ratio? And what diet plans should I add to get me to the desired weight fast lets say in 3 months?

Since you are a badminton player, your symptoms could be due to ligament injury. You would require an MRI to ascertain that. But first of all get yourself examined by either a Rheumatologist or an orthopedician.

Some persons suggest me that, if you want to eat rice daily, then brown rice is best. Problem is that when I went for purchase I saw similar nutrients composition on the pack of both brown and white rice. If there is no difference then why brown rice?

Brown rice is better since it is unpolished, It has more nutrients and fiber. It is good for diabetics and overweight persons. It is also good for digestion. White rice has more carbs and its consumption should be reduced.

Hello, The food what and how you eat, makes the difference! For increasing your weight, concentrate on the below points ( if you don’t have any medical condition) which helps in gaining weight in a right way without harming your body. - Consume more healthy fats. Foods containing healthy fats are full of nutrients and also high in calories, making them a great option for weight gain. Foods containing plant fats should be your first option - this includes items such as nuts, seeds, peanut butter, avocados and olive oil. Foods containing healthy animals fats include lean meats and full fat dairy products - although if you have high cholesterol, you should probably stick to low-fat options. -Eat more protein. Good sources of protein include lean meat, fish and poultry, in addition to eggs, whole grains, dairy products and legumes. -Drink more calories. Try drinking a large glass of orange juice in the mornings (along with your normal breakfast). Drink a glass or two of full-cream milk throughout the day.Protein shakes will help you to gain muscle mass, particularly if you're working out. -Have 6 small and frequent meals in a day. -Gain muscle mass. It's a good idea to continue to exercise while you attempt to gain weight the healthy way. Strength training includes working with weights and performing exercises such as squats, deadlifts, bench presses, bicep curls, crunches, chin-ups and leg curls. Just keep in mind that the more you exercise, the more calories you will need to consume to replace those you lost while working out. This is where protein shakes and bars really come in handy. -Quit smoking. As it suppresses the appetite. -Stay healthy. The most important thing through the entire weight gain process is to stay healthy - eating a balanced diet and continuing to exercise throughout. -Take enough of rest and sleep for rejuvenation of the cells and tissues. -Think Positive which will help you in achieving your target of gaining weight. -Avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension. Medication: Take Schwabe’s Alfaalfa Tonic and Five Phos., both thrice daily ½ an hour before meals for 1month.

Most of elderly people suffer from such problems and I m proud of child like you who care. For sugar and bp whatever med she is taking should continue. Slowly switch to madhurakshak choorna 1 tsp with warm water 30 minutes before food. For b. P. Please take sarpagandha vati 2 tab + dhamasa choorna 1/2 tsp with water twicetwice a day. In a day how much amount of proteins, minerals etc body need in a day. Please tell.
Protein requirement of an individual is as per ideal body weight. In your case it is 59 g/ day . You may consume plenty of colored whole fruits & vegetables/ leafy veggies (2-3 servings each) daily to meet the vitamin requirement. You can meet all the macro & micronutrient requirements on a daily basis by having a well balanced diet containing all 5 food groups- cereals, vegetables, fruits, pulse/meat & dairy products.

I am a gym lover, my diet is up to mark i.e I eat meat, fish, eggs, oats, bananas, etc. But my muscle is not gaining, it gained but at a point it stop developing I search it on google that why I am taking good protien in a accurate diet then why my body is not developing their I found that because of low testosterone level so, I started taking patanjali shilajeet and Ashwagandha with milk before bed. And now I have ordered carbohydrates blend (supplement) as I view it on google that carbohydrates help increase muscle and weight. I ordered carb blend of muscle blaze it contains :- dextrose, fructose (fruit sugar) andMaltodextrin, my question is that my protien is good my protien timings are good I don't smoke and drink, I do not have any habit of masturbation, I take small meals 4 to 6 times a day with 3: 2:1 ratio i.e more protien, less carb, low fat i.e 3: 2:1 now, this carb blend help me to weight gain and bulk me up?

Dear lybrate-user, I am a General Physician and I workout regularly! I would like to show you light on few aspects. 1. Most of the times what you read from Google search is written by some steroid abused illiterate gym trainers. So it's risky that you follow those advice. 2. Now coming to your concern, Growth of muscle depends on several phenomenon other than having whey protein, some duplicate supplement. You do need other factors running inside your body to get those muscles. 3. Your workout pattern depends a lot on yiur growth of muscle. You need to know what is the best suitable workout according to your BMI & Body type 4. Low testosterone: Having low testosterone has few physiological signs and symptoms. There is a test to confirm that. However your delayed muscle growth does not indicate that you have to have low testosterone. 5. There is no written/researched evidence of the fact that "SHILAJIT OR ASHWAGANDHA increases your testosterone level" There are few proven drugs which with proper guidelines have to administered to increase the testosterone level! Take care mate!

I am an athletic player and I am feeling tired nowadays and my friends take protein powder BT thy says to take me also BUT I am confused is it good and which should I take?

Hye. Thank you for your query. The moment you are an athlete, whatever is your workout or practice routine, does not justify taking a protein supplement. Your body needs carbs, proteins and healthy fats. Proteins are not stored in the body like other nutrients. Your body will utilize only as much protein it needs and the rest will be broken down for energy purpose which is it's secondary function; main being building/repairing muscles. Depending on the exercise (ie. Strength training/cardio or activities like gymnastics or weight lifting) your body's needs for proteins varies. Although whey is natural and the most easily and quickly assimilated form of protein - it is not needed to be exclusively included in your diet. You have to have a balanced healthy protein rich diet for the supplement to be utilised. Supplement means exactly what it is supplement - it adds to your basic diet. Get yourself assessed by a nutritionist to find out your protein intake and needs before randomly adding supplements to your diet.     Protein need totally depends on your present food intake & activity levels.
