Kindly show me photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take biod3 max 1 tab dailyx10 paracetamol 250mg od & sos x5days do back (spine)/shoulder/knee exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do not ignore it. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days, then contact me again.

Hi i am a 36 year old male, since 3 months I have purchased a motorbike and riding it. Noticed a pain in tendon/nerve on left hand where left hand thumb joins to hand 2) have throat infection from 4 days, doing salt water gargling but flum is not coming out, also have developed bitterness in center of tongue towards back of tongue is it onset of diabetes or something?

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am dr akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. I will try to help you from an orthopaedic point of view, it seems that you have pain at thumb base since 3 months but you have mentioned no swelling there. I will advise you: 1) to wear a thumb spica splint for 3 weeks 2) ice packs for local application 3) a short course of anti-inflammatory medication 4) physical therapy if it does not improve, then kindly let me know and we might have to get some investigations done for you. Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Inform after 5 days.

Do not over-strain the joint as it can damage the ligaments. Go slow and do the necessary warm-up before you go for the walk. Do mild stretching exercise. Learn Yoga which has less impact on the joint and is safe. Go to a doctor if it is more painful for proper diagnosis. Revert after that. You can also take Homeopathy which is safe and gentle. Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

I'm 33 year old. Since last 1-2 years neither i'm able to sit or stand for even few minutes. I feel my legs and back have become too weak. If I walk, my legs start paining & when I sit on the ground, it takes some time to get up and straighten my back. I'm unable to sit upright on the chair as well. My job for last 10 years has been operating the computer, in night shifts. Please let me know at the earliest what my medical condition is & what I need to do to overcome this problem. Thank you.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Because of your previous history and lifestyle I will advise you conservative management initially failing which we will have to investigate you in a greater detail. For back pain: if you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. For leg pain: actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

You should take Acupressure therapy and take Biochemic Calc phos 200x + Mag phos 200x 4 tab each thrice a day with warm water and take it 5 days than consult private online.
