According to your letter, you are surely facing acidity problem. Not heart problem. Make proper changes in your diet and water intake. Drink atleast 3 to 4 bottles of normal room temperature water daily. Drinking cold water can cause acidity. Chew your food properly. If food is not properly, slowly chewed in mouth, it remains undigested causing acidity and gas. Both painful. Eat good heavy breakfast and lunch and keep dinner early (before 8 pm) and light and small meals. This should change your health positively very soon.

I am in Bangalore, and my mom has a sickness (blood pressure and other common sicknesses) but she is in Afghanistan, is there a way to bring a copy of her check up to write her medicine? Or how can you advise me? For, she can not come here. Looking for an answer regards.

The best practical way would be for her to get her health reviewed there. That's because we have to allow the doctor to check her and decide what to prescribe. Later you can send the generic medicine from here if needed.

Family members share genes, behaviors, lifestyles, and environments that can influence their health and their risk for disease. Have a healthy lifestyle to prevent the risk of heart diseases as the development of cardiovascular disease involves many different factors, not just your family history. Hope this helps you.

There is evidence that certain dietary supplements and vitamins can help with certain types of pain. Fish oil is often used to reduce pain associated with swelling. Topical capsaicin, derived from chili peppers, may help with arthritis, diabetic nerve pain, and other conditions. There's evidence that glucosamine can help relieve moderate to severe pain from osteoarthritis in the knee. Do reply back for private consultation. And detailed treatment plan.

What is main cause for under chest burning after having food like bad cholesterol and What is cure n precaution to be taken?

What is main cause for under chest burning after having food like bad cholesterol and What is cure n precaution to be...
Hi lybrate user, your question is excellent and interesting. Foods that have got bad cholesterol or you can call them trans-fatty acids require more water for there digestion. Our stomach is like a vessel and it has got limited capacity. Fatty foods attract a lot of liquids and also require a lot of liquids to be drunk after the food taken. Our stomach bloats up because it is overcapacitated with so much of liquid and food. There is regergitation or reflux back of this liquid-food mixture which causes a lot of discomfort in food pipe and chest. Precautions to be taken is that we should take fatty food in moderation, not drink a lot of liquids with this kind of food, not lie down immediately after this kind of food and most importantly try to walk after food.

Pls suggest any antioxidant tab which can help lower down cholesterol and any tablet which can do weight loss.

Pls suggest any antioxidant tab which can help lower down cholesterol and any tablet which can do weight loss.
How are you. Friend, there is no good solution in medicines or tablets to lower weight and to lower your cholesterol. Better concentrate on exercises, diet habits etc. Medicines to lower cholesterol are called as statins. Antioxidant medicines come under nutritional products and they are not as effective as other activities that I suggested.

Should one be always very happy and relaxed to prevent many diseases like heart diseases?

Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MBBS

Should one be always very happy and relaxed to prevent many diseases like heart diseases?
No one needs to react appropriately as per situation. during disease of self or others, happiness can help ward off bad times with positive frame of mind to find out answers,to act /react accordingly. if there is news of floods/ drought/ accidents/epidemics of diseases etc. one cannot be happy about them ,neither brood about pathetic conditions of roads, hospitals ,global warming but one can surely introspect to know the answers and to help each other. being happy for the sake of happiness is robotic and it is not worth hiding the tears. shedding few tears for others does help own emotional health.

Which type of Angioplasty system is better making hole in Radial /wrist access or in right upper thigh/ femoral access in view of a heart patient aged 65 years or please intimate the benefit/harm, Radial versus Femoral Access for Coronary Intervention.

Which type of Angioplasty system is better making hole in Radial /wrist access or in right upper thigh/ femoral acces...
Radial requires skill and is less traumatic compared to femoral which too requires skill but it has been there for a lot more years, the side effects of femoral are 1) bleeding through a malor vessel, there fore the leg has to be kept at a higher level with head side low for at least 6 hours & post procedure care takes longer to heal though in both the vessels it is just a puncture caused by a thick needle to inject dye to reach the heart vessels. If one is sure about the cardiologist (some places do give exagerrated opinions about their doctors on call) get it through radial. Regarding other conditions like constipation, make sure that the system is clean & person takes adequate semisoild food as nourishment, no ga is reguired but there is slight risk of vomiting due to pain reflex.

Heart Attack - Signs, Symptoms and Emergency Treatment

Heart Attack - Signs, Symptoms and Emergency Treatment

Heart attack, also known as myocardial infarction, is a severe condition where death of the heart muscle occurs because of the loss of blood supply. The blood loss usually happens because of the blockage of a coronary artery. Due to electrical instability, ventricular fibrillation is caused. Heart attacks may result in permanent brain damage or even death.

  • Symptoms of Heart Attack: There are many early symptoms and signs of heart attack, which should be recognized. Symptoms of heart attack vary from person to person. Here is a list of the primary heart attack symptoms:
  • Chest Pain and Discomfort: Chest pain is the basic symptom of a heart attack and occurs in different forms. The chest pain has a pressure, fullness and squeezing sensation and starts from the center of the chest. The pain may go away and re-occur and may spread down to other limbs of the body.
  • Headache, Toothache: The chest pain occurring due to a heart attack spreads all over the body and the jaw. Even the back and head are affected. Sometimes pain in these regions is present while chest pain is absent.
  • Shortness of Breath: A gasping sensation or feeling shortness of breath is another common sign of a heart attack. Such breathing difficulty is called dyspnea. The shortness of breath occurs before or during the chest pain.
  • Nausea and Vomiting: The feeling of nausea or sickness in the stomach is another possible symptom. It is accompanied by belching or burping and sometimes, the heart attack is associated with a feeling of indigestion. Nausea is more common in women. Vomiting also occurs alongside nausea.
  • General Epigastric Discomfort: In several cases, patients describe the pain of a heart attack as stomach pain. The pain is heavy and uncomfortable and persists for several minutes.
  • Sweating: Perspiration or sweating occurs during a heart attack and the patient experiences cold sweat in avid amounts.

Emergency Treatment for Heart Attack:

  1. A person who has a heart attack should be rushed to a hospital.
  2. Several tests are carried out to detect the cause of the attack. A 12 lead EKG is carried out to supervise electrical activity within the heart and detect the damaged areas.
  3. Blood tests are undertaken to check enzymes and in certain cases, cardiac catheterization is required where pictures of the blood vessels are examined.
  4. Emergency medicines are given to the patient to stop the formation of blood clots and include aspirin, heparin and other drugs. Other medicines are given for thrombolytic therapy, which dissolve already formed blood clots. They work to reduce the heart damage. Nitrates are also used.

A heart attack is a severe condition and must be attended to immediately. Emergency treatment procedures are essential to save the life of an affected person.

Fatty liver is graded and if grade 2, it can be prevented from becoming grade 4 leading to liver failure. Fatty liver means presence of fat cells on top of delcate liver cells, causing pressure on them making their functioning low. You can/ cannot reverse fatty liver, opinion is divided for grade 2, no harm in using less fats & do some exercise who you must be because of cardiac condition, drink juice of lemon plus a spoon of honey with warm water on empty stomach in morning, drink apple cider vinegar, a spoon with honey or juice, all of the above burn fats in body including liver. Try for a month and get tested by ultrasound to know fresh status of liver. Remember healthy liver cells rejuvinate very fast, provided you do not take any toxic food or medicines like heavy antibiotics.
