Im having hair loss since last year so my frontal part of the head is now bald so please suggest some treatment. Plzz.
Hi. It's normal to loose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin) , different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month. Investigations advised: Get your blood tested for (empty stomach) - CBC, S. Iron, S. Folic acid, S. Ferritin, S. Calcium, S. Vitamin D3, S. Vitamin B12. If there is any family history of Thyroid dysfunction, get Thyroid function test done as well.

I love my wife and care for her. We have a 17 month old son who is well taken care of by her. We live in a joint family. My wife is given to occasional anger episodes where she uses abusive language, blackmail and threats of hurting herself. This is usually after she has had a verbal argument with any woman of the family. I know she loves me and takes care of me a lot but during her anger episodes she thinks I don't love her or don't take her side in an argument with someone else. During those episodes of anger she will not listen to anyone and the more I talk to her the situation gets worse. She recently (1 month ago) had her gallbladder removed because of gallstone pain. Sometimes she does not even remember the things she said during her anger episodes. She sometimes thinks no one loves our child or he is subjected to partiality. Our baby is still on breastfeed. What should I do?

Dear lybrate-user, It is good that you are seeking help in this situation to help your wife. We shall try to address the issue from a practical problem solving method. There are several points to be observed. 1. That you both love each other. 2. There are tensions within the family. 3. Wife is struggling emotionally during those episodes and wants you to understand her problems and support her. 4. Perhaps it has become a pattern after several such episodes that according to her view, you remain a passive observant and in a way she is asking you to help her out of the situation and she is helpless. The longer the situation drags the more bitter the relationships are going to be. There is also a risk of self harm as she has threatened to hurt herself. It is best if you both seek professional counselling to address the issue together. In the meantime please see if you can do the following. 1. Take your family out (wife and children) on a weekly basis so you'll spend some private time. Make this a sincere commitment. 2. It is futile to talk about these issues when the episodes happen. Instead find a time when you both are relaxed and have uninterrupted time for yourselves and allow her to talk about her problems. If she can't remember, as you said - try and gently remind her in a non-accusatory manner and allow her to reflect on what troubles her. Both of you may have to set some terms of communication that you both will listen well during this conversation, not to use abusive language, not to flare up and not walk away from discussion so that result of the discussion is meaningful. 3. While you may not know the details of the conflicts and don't wish to take sides within family, you should atleast ensure that you empathize with your wife, show that you care for her in words and actions. 4. Also consider an opportunity for her to have time away from home either in form of work, hobby or something she wishes to do to help energize herself. Hope you find this helpful.

My weight is 95 kg I want to lose my weight. Give me some tips to lose my weight.

My weight is 95 kg I want to lose my weight. Give me some tips to lose my weight.
Being a dietitian my views: there is no single diet chart for everyone. To plan a specific diet we do collect lot of information like height, weight, food frequency, digestive history, medical history, likes, dislike, lifestyle, eating habits. Remember one thing to follow a diet it should be personalized according to person's body type and not generalized. Starting with there is no pills or powder or shake which can help you to lose weight in a healthy way. To lose weight eat an hour within walking up and dinner at least 2 hours before you sleep. Avoiding eating anything after dinner. Breakfast should be your king size have good complex carbohydrates and protein rich. Eat every 2 hours small frequent meal do help in weight loss. And do not overeat. One can come to ideal body weight with few lifestyle modification. Have green tea only 2 cups a day. For exercise I would say diet plays 80 % role and exercise plays 20 % role in losing weight. Personal advise on gym. You should not make your body habituated with machines rather do simple walk or surya namaskar or planks. So only with healthy eating one can lose weight.

Dear lybrate-user The medicine given to you is absolutely fine. It takes 2-3 days to get an effect of the medicine. There should not be FRESH bleeding. Old / Brownish blood or clots are expected as there remain collected blood in vagina which keep dissolving and coming out for few days. I would suggest that infection screen should also be conducted same time. Wish you luck.
