Dear lybrate-user, some of your symptoms may be side effect of stalopam and some are due to your major depressive disorder. Stalopam needs 2-3 weeks to start its antidepressant action. Side effects come earlier. Please discuss with your psychiatrist. He/she may change the medicine or reduce dose or give another medicine for your symptoms - it might be flu itself added to your major depressive disorder. If you can tolerate don't stop stalopam and consult your psychiatrist.

Hello, if you are feeling severely depressed, your lack of sleep could be because of it. Sleep disturbances like lack or excess of sleep are a common and major symptom of depression. Sleeping pills is a temporary solution. It will not help if the cause of your sleep problem is depression, infact sleeping pills worsen depression. Antidepressants which promote healthy sleep will treat your insomnia as well as depression. For better sleep, follow some tips:- 1) make your room completely dark at night. 2) your room must be well ventilated. 3) a warm shower and head massage with oil before sleep time. 4) avoid tea/coffee after 5.00pm. Don't sleep in day. And don't use bed for eating /watching tv. Take care.

My wife is a patient of over angry. Really she is get hot talk very fast. Any solution.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, Your wife may be going through hard phase or going through some kind of stress or she may have so many responsibilities, so that she remains busy doing household work and don't get enough time to take care of self or else no one bothers about her and takes her for granted! You should interact with your wife to find out the cause. Most of the time, it's seen that among these common causes one of the cause is there. Practicing yoga with homoeopathic medication will help her in releasing the stress from your body. Brisk walk in a park will help her inhale more fresh air and oxygen for good functioning of the cells and tissues of the body. Medication: Give her homoeopathic - Schwabe’s Bacopa Monierri 1x/ thrice daily and Kali Phos. 6x/ once at night. Yogasana: Practice the following poses if she doesn’t has any other medical condition or pregnancy or else take an advice from your concern doctor and then only perform these. 1.Balasana: Sit on your heels with your big toes touching and hands resting on your thighs. Lower your belly and chest to rest between your knees, bringing your forehead to the floor. Relax your arms back beside your shins, palms facing up. Soften your breath by taking 5 to 10 long, deep inhalations and exhalations. 2.Savasana: lie back, letting your body sink into and open around the support. End in a supported pose on your back with a folded blanket under the length of the spine to help arch the upper and middle back, and lengthen the lower back. Move your arms a comfortable distance away from your body and anything else around you. Turn your palms to face up. Separate your legs a natural distance apart. Relax your feet and let them roll open. Finally, do a mental scan from head to toe: Where are you holding tension. Release it from every part of your body—including your heart and head. 3.Bhujanasana: Slowly slide forward from Child's Pose to lie facedown. Press your toes and forehead gently into the floor. Rest your palms lightly on the floor on either side of your chest with fingertips pointing forward and elbows bent and hugging in toward your ribcage. Inhale and lift your chest from the heart, pressing only very lightly into your palms and mostly using your back strength to hold your shoulders and chest up. Soften your shoulders. Then lift your hands off the floor completely, broadening across your collarbones and reaching your heart up. Take a couple of deep, slow breaths here. Then as you exhale, place your palms back down and gently lower your chest to floor.

Clonazepam when used once or twice a month is ok for anxiety, but since you have dreams and feeling exhausted in day time, taking something to get your dreams regulated like melatonin analogues would help a lot. All the best.

My wife aged 62 yrs diagnosed for Parkinson's taking rasolect. 5 ropark. 5 & pacitane 2 but no improvement. Please do help

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Neurologist,
Parkinson's disease-kampavata (a neurological disorder) parkinson's disease is a neurological disease, or brain disorder, that leads to progressive difficulty with balance and coordination. In people who have parkinson's disease, nerve cells in a region of the brain known as the substantia nigra become damaged or die. These cells are important because they produce the chemical dopamine, which helps to coordinate body movement-basal ganglia. When dopamine-producing cells degenerate/die, the areas in the brain that control movement can no longer function properly, and symptoms of parkinson's disease eventually develop. Parkinson? s disease prevalence:- parkinson's disease can affect anyone, but it most often occurs in people who are over the age of 50. Only 15 percent of parkinson's disease patients are diagnosed before they are 50 years old. The prevalence of parkinson's disease is nearly the same in both men and women, and recovery rate is more in men. People with a family history of parkinson's may have a higher risk of developing the disease, but parkinson's disease is rarely attributed to genetics alone. Parkinson's disease symptoms symptoms of parkinson's disease usually develop after about 80 percent of the brain's dopamine-producing cells are lost. The main symptoms of parkinson's disease include? tremors (kampam)- tremulousness (uncontrolled shaking or trembling) of the hands, arms, legs, face, body is often one of the first indicators of parkinson's disease? rigidity. Profound stiffness or an inability to easily move the arms, legs, and trunk, pain and stiffness on neck muscles is another hallmark of parkinson's? bradykinesia:- describes the unnaturally slow movements that are characteristic of people with parkinson's disease? poor balance- parkinson's disease affects balance, leading to difficulty walking and impaired coordination. The symptoms of parkinson's are generally mild at first, but become more severe over time, until they eventually interfere with your daily routine. This is usually the point when treatment is recommended. The outlook for people with parkinson's disease parkinson's disease is a chronic, progressive condition, which means it is a lifelong disease that worsens over time when it is not treated properly. Each individual's situation is different, but in general, the first symptoms of parkinson's disease usually don't require treatment and may be restricted to one area or one side of the body. Movement of symptoms to the other side of the body? tremors that become more pronounced and interfere with activities? bradykinesia, or slow movement, that becomes disabling? difficulty with hand writing? impaired swallowing and chewing? speech that becomes monotone? poor balance and repeated falls? slow, shuffling gait (manner of walking)? stooped posture? facial expressions that become stiff and blank? chronic constipation? poor bladder control? sleep disturbances this progression is gradual in most people, but it may happen faster in some than others. Understandably, stress caused by the progression of the disease can lead to anxiety and depression. Ayurveda treatment: there is cure for parkinson's disease with ayurveda treatment, with ayurveda medicines and treatments we can relieve symptoms, slow down the progression and then we can completely arrest further degeneration of the of the cells, thereby we can completely control and cure the disease. If you are diagnosed with parkinson's disease, it is important to work closely with your medical team, so your medications can be regularly adjusted to help you remain as functional as possible for as long as possible. As far as parkinson's disease is concerned this is a brain related issue, so will surely effect the mind; so I recommend 49% treatment to patients and 51% treatment to family members.

This question is about a behavioural issue - procrastination. Anything I have to do that will take time and thought I procrastinate. The very easy ones that does not need a thought, I do fast and quick. Basically I don't plan for anything at all and wait for the last moment to take actions. Due to this of late I have been missing on some personal and organizational deadlines which makes me think that procrastination is now baked into my character. Could you advise how can I go about getting courage to do planning and finish off the tough tasks at the earliest time possible?

M. Phil Clinical Psychology
Psychologist, Hyderabad
Procrastination is like one of those bad habits that needs to be broken. It affects ones confidence levels thus making a person doubt his/her ability at times. Please be assured that it can be overcome with a little bit of planning. If you're supposed to finish certain tasks during a day, start with simple tasks and if a task is complex, break the tasks into smaller steps. Encourage yourself to achieve each small step instead of looking at the big task. The satisfaction that you will experience after completion of each step will push you to achieve the next step. If you follow this consistently for a few weeks, you'll notice that your tendency to procrastinate will reduce a good deal.

Dear , Greetings! Anxiety is at core of IBS and resultant constipation and piles. Physically you need to add running to your schedule. For anxiety here is a short technique to help you. But along with this technique you require therapeutic intervention to alleviate the cause of chronic anxiety. Hypnotherapy (child and life regression) might help you too depending upon the psychologist's perspective. Technique- breathing. Whenever you feel anxiety take deep breaths. Inhale with count of 4-Hold for 2 seconds-Exhale with count 8. Exhale = 2 Inhale. This technique helps in reducing anxiety. Another method, try Progressive Muscle Relaxation technique. For faster results twice a day is recommended.

4 Ways Couple YOGA Can Take Your Fitness and Relationship to the Next Level

4 Ways Couple YOGA Can Take Your Fitness and Relationship to the Next Level

4 ways couple yoga can take your fitness and relationship to the next level

Different from traditional yoga (involving a single person only), couple yoga involves the merging of your body rhythm with that of another person. This sync between partners is achieved through touch, movement, breath and body positions. The benefits that you gain from this practice are not only limited to your body, but extend to your relationship too.

Far from the seriousness that you usually associate with traditional yoga, couple yoga allows the two of you to be more happy and playful. This is because trying to get the right pose with your partner can lead to a fair share of fun and laughter. You not only have to figure how to get into that pose, but also how to hold it.

In terms of how it affects your fitness levels, couple yoga can.

1. Strengthen your core

Couple yoga comprises of poses that strengthen your core, leading to improved metabolism and overall strength. The varied poses that you'll come across in this form of practice strive to engage the muscles of your back and abdomen, which are crucial in building your core strength. Double boat pose and side plank pose are two of such core strengthening poses. You can check out these various poses online.

2. Boost immunity

Whether it's your nervous system or the digestive system, the different yoga poses (like the child pose or the upward dog pose) bring about the stimulation of one or more of the body's systems, leading to a bolstering of your immune system.

Here's how couple yoga can deepen your relationship -

1. It builds trust

The practice of couple yoga can help build trust as certain poses call for trusting your partner implicitly. Difficult yoga poses may require you to hold onto your partner to stay balanced; and this total dependence on the other person creates a sense of confidence and comfort as you realise that your partner is there for you. A case in point is the partner tree pose, which can be both entertaining and challenging. It calls for great amount of trust and balance to sustain this pose successfully.

2. It improves intimacy between the two of you

Apart from all the fun there's to this form of yoga, couple yoga also calls for a certain level of intimacy. While practicing it, you not only get to learn your own limitations, but also those of your partner, helping you to accept all of them. The opening pose (heart hug) serves to do just that, it opens the two of you up so that you can fall in sync. Gestures like placing your hand on the heart of your partner, feeling the other person's heartbeat and keeping pace with each other's breathing serve to strengthen the bond between you two.

While improving your health and fitness levels, couple yoga strives to improve your relationship with your partner, and help the two of your to explore patterns and aims within your relationship.

I feel really depressed about every small thing and have been prone to crying for every little thing that goes wrong....
You need to consult any professional for proper diagnosis and reason of your problem.in the meantime you can try few things which will help you. Take proper sleep of 7-8 hours try to avoid sleep at day time. Its in our hand to be happy what it requires is slightly change in your approach ,stop thinking that something is wrong with me I am not well make yourself as much busy as you can so that you don't get time to think on all this. And its everyone's right is to be happy we cannot change the thinking of people or situation around us but we can get the things or reasons which make us happy, what we can do is to live every second of life, what do you want to be, what do you want to eat, to do, your career, your friends, your likings etc. Develop some hobby, make some good friends, make yourself busy, as much you will think you will get frustrate and will gain nothing, live only for yourself, and this can be possible when you will involve yourself in some other things ,the main concept is that make yourself as much busy as you can so that you don't get free time to think on this. First start from joining any hobby class and make any good friend with whom you can share everything ,do some yoga and meditation, expand your social circle. Take care.
