Get x-ray or mri done to rule out any structural joint abnormalities. Meanwhile, go for ayurveda's panchkarma therapy - we have many option for you - greeva basti (specialized procedure for neck pains), localised massgae with herbal oils, localised medicated steam, pottali massage. Continue these procedures for atleast 15 days. Regular oiling of the joint will improve the lubrication also. These procedures will relax your neck muscles and give strength to your nerves and muscles of neck. Also start some yogic exercises - tadasana, dhanurasan, halasana along with these therapies. Avoid using big pillow. Do not read or use gadets while lying on bed. This will greatly help. Although some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking.. Please update with your valuable feedback after 15 days.\

No 1: Rotator Cuff Isometrics Ok, I'm cheating here with my No 1 exercise as it's really three exercises, but the simple, basic isometric exercise is too often over looked and under used. This is a shame as I find it very effective in reducing a lot of shoulder pains in many people that it rightly deserves my No 1 spot despite them being perceived as boring and simplistic nature. Although recently they are gaining some popularity and credibility again. Isometric exercises for those non therapists reading, is when a muscle/tendon is asked to contract but there is no movement of the joint and so no change in the length of the muscle/tendon, just like when you flex your pecs and biceps in the mirror after a shower… No! just me that does that then, ok moving on…! In my clinic I see a lot of people with acute shoulder pains brought on usually after an increase in activity, sport or training and most I beleive have a reactive cuff tendinopathy. Most of these shoulders have quite high pain levels for the first few weeks and we know that isometrics are great for reducing pain (source) and they do produce some significant forces and tension in the cuff, so can be thought of beginning the needed loading program. There are lots of variations and I don't think it matters too much how you do them, it's more important how hard and how much you do them, more on this in a bit. The isometric exercises I usually give are a'Back of the hand Wall Press' used when I suspect a more superior cuff tendinopathy, it's done simply by standing next to a wall and pressing the back of the hand into the wall in the scapular plane (called Scaption) at approx 30° of abduction.

I shared the same to the GP and she told it is viral fever. The fever came down after a day itself. However the joint pain is still there. I am a breast feeding mother. Osteopenia - 6 Signs You Are Suffering From It!

Osteopenia - 6 Signs You Are Suffering From It!

We may be lost in progression and may have a lot to achieve in life, there may be things that we just cannot let go off, such as success and in such a rush for advancement and success we may be overlooking health in the bargain. Though we may not realize it, but as age progresses, the health takes a toll and the disease fighting and sustenance abilities of the body also start to decline. One of the most common problems that a lot of people go through is the weakening of the bones.

There may be instances, particularly in women, where they may feel fatigued and tired and this is something that most women may ignore so that they may be able to concentrate on the other aspects of life. However, more than often, the problems that the women face are known to be symptoms of health issues such as Osteopenia. Osteopenia is a problem of the bones where they gradually lose their natural ability to make sufficient amount of calcium necessary for the health and safety of the bone structure and when the problem takes a sever turn it may lead to osteoporosis.

Knowing the symptoms:
The problem of osteopenia may not have obvious symptoms in the beginning but people who suffer from the problem may complain of the following issues:

  1. A lot of people may experience lower back pain when they are suffering from osteopenia.
  2. The back pain may also arise from the hunching of the back which is another symptom of the health issue.
  3. There have been instances of patients suffering from lowering of the height when they are suffering from the bone related issue.
  4. The fracturing of bones becomes more likely for people who suffer from the problem.
  5. Lots of people may also end up losing teeth due to the issue.
  6. One of the biggest symptoms is that the patients of osteopenia usually also develop osteoporosis in the advanced stages of the issue.

Treating Osteopenia:
Though there is no confirmed cure for the issue, it is possible to be able to control the problem and limit its ill-effects or symptoms. With a revision of dietary habits to include foods that help in the increase of calcium you may be able to control the problem to a great extent. It may also be possible to keep the issue under check by following healthy lifestyle habits such as quitting smoking or following regular exercise routines or taking the right treatment or medications as suggested by a specialist. Sometimes a disease can be a result of an underlying illness that you are unaware of, which is why self-diagnosis or treatment may not be advised and it is always wiser to take help from your physician. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Orthopedist.

Sir, in your case, without properly assessing your knee joints, their mobility, flexibility, etc and without any x ray or bone scan, its difficult to say what exactly is the problem and tell the proper treatment. But, i'll advice, just have a look at your feet or get it checked by someone in family or even a physiotherapist, if you visit for your knee pain problem. There is something known as" flat feet" every person has a curvature, called" arches" in their feet, around the middle portion. In some it is high, in some low, in some normal, and in some its so low that the feet appears to be flat when place on ground. You can compare your arches with someone in family or google it. If you have flat feet or low medial arch, then it can be the real cause for your pain, coz it affects the load bearing or shock absorbing power of your knees, and so when you run, the force from the ground affects your knees much more. In such cases, you have to go for shoe modification, using readymade footwear or insoles having medial arch support, or customize them according to your need.

Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.
