Now days everyone's life end up with some kind of cancers or tumors. I meant it for normal people who couldn't smoke/drink. Just normal living/life style people. Why every one end up like this? Or what is the fact or reason or cause to became everyone, like this kind of disease?

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
Dear sir, cancer is a disease which is related to both our lifestyle, environmental factors or genetic. There are things that we can control, but many things like cosmic radiation, environmental factors, increasing pollution, lots of chemicals in food as preservatives or to increase its growth etc are beyond individual control and needs whole society to take steps to prevent this. Genetic factors are beyond our control, only thing we can do is to identify faulty gene and go for preventing measures. Since the exact cause of cancer is not understood completely, it is advisable to go for regular health screening for early diagnosis and get it treated timely for potential cure.

I have Antral hyperemia complication and treatment and itsrelation ,with cancer development, is it curable? can it converted into atrophic gastritis?

MBBS, M.S. General Surgery, M.R.C.S. England, M.Ch. Surgical Oncology, DNB Surgical Oncology, FEBS Surgical Oncology, DNB General Surgery, MNAMS, FMAS, FIAGES, FAIS, FICS, FEBS Breast Surgery, FACS, Fellowship IFHNOS & MSKCC USA, Fellowship in breast and oncplastic Surgery
Oncologist, Mumbai
Antral hyperaemia could be due to variety of reasons like acute gastritis, eosinophilia gastritis or portal hypertension. Most commonly due to gastritis, or H. Pylori infection (which if chronic can lead to atrophic gastritis, which has some risk of cancer). Better to consult the doctor who did the endoscopy regarding the further management. He may give you a course of antacid like pantoprazole. He will do a check endoscopy and if not responding, then may do a rebiopsy for H. Pylori/ urease test. If positive then he may give you anti H-pylori course. If portal hypertension is suspected, then that would be managed according to the cause of the same. Feel free to contact me directly if you want to share reports and discuss this further.

I have diagnosed with infiltrating ductal carcinoma, NOS, in right breast (in biopsy report, triple negative (ER-negative, PR-NEGATIVE, HER 2-NEGATIVE). The tumor measures 5 cm* 3 cm mammographically. After giving 3 no. Of chemo the tumor shrinks to 1.9*0.7*1 cm in USG. My doctor done modified radical mastectomy. Please tell me after surgery.

MBBS, DNB (Surgical Oncology), MS - General Surgery
Oncologist, Delhi
Because you are triple negative and less than 60 years of age you will also require genetic testing for BRCA 1/2.

What are the symptoms causes and effects of bood cancer? Is blood cancer curable pls do tell me?

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
Blood cancer is caused by abnormal proliferation of one of the components of blood, leading to suppression of others.hence leading to symptoms like prolonged fever, frequent infection, bleeding or easy bruising, lumps or lymphadenopathy. Blood cancer depending on type are treated by chemotherapy mostly and many have very long disease free survival and are almost curable but everything depends on how patients respond to treatments.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Instead of using chemical creams use Marichyadi tel. It's little smelly but will cure the problem. Pl add Manjistha tab and Curcumin 95% concentration capsules. Take for two weeks minimum.

Hi sir/mam I found breast lump in left breast 8 months back but there is no swelling discharge or any symptoms but pain at time of menses that's it I saw in some articles all breast lumps are not cause cancer pizz give me suggestion it cause any severe condition in future what precautions I should take.

MBBS
General Physician, Bangalore
Hi, It is true that all breast lumps will not lead to cancer. But it is not advisable to neglect any kind breast lump. A breast lump not causing any pain, swelling, discharge etc may silently turn into a cancer. I suggest you to consult a general surgeon and get it examined once. He/she will be the right person to tell you what it is. Take care.

Fibroadenomas - Causes And Symptoms

MBBS, DNB - Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Fibroadenomas - Causes And Symptoms

Fibroadenomas are benign non carcinogenic tumors that occur in the breasts of women. Although the condition may affect females of any age; spanning from pubescent girls to middle aged ladies, yet it is most commonly diagnosed in young women below 30 years of age. Fibroadenomas can be described as a stiff, smooth, supple marble under the skin of your breasts, which move when touched. These tumors which occur in varied sizes, may shrink or expand with time. Diagnosing through biopsies and treatment by surgeries are commonly employed for such a condition.

Types of Fibroadenomas
Fibroadenomas are of two types: simple fibroadenomas and complex fibroadenomas. The simple tumors are usually harmless and almost look the same under the lens of a microscope. On the other hand, the complex tumors are comprised of macro cysts (large fluid-filled sacs) and calcifications (deposits of calcium) which can slightly increase the chance of breast cancer.

What is the primary cause of Fibroadenomas?
Doctors aren't able to pinpoint the chief cause of fibroadenomas, but they have reasons to believe that the condition may pertain to the reproductive hormones. The condition may occur during pregnancy or during the use of hormone therapy, owing to which, the tumors may increase in size. The tumors are usually seen to shrink postmenopause, when the hormone levels start to dwindle.

Fibroadenomas are apparent and you may be able to detect them even without a doctor. The marble like tumor within your breasts are usually:

  1. Painless
  2. Firm
  3. Rubbery and elastic
  4. Easily movable

These tumors can range from being too small to as big as 3 inches or more in diameter. These lumps, which are usually harmless may be a cause of concern if they start to grow or change. Consulting a doctor is duly advised in such cases.

Risks: Fibroadenomas, only in the rarest cases, increase the likelihood of breast cancer. A complex fibroadenoma comprising of cysts or thick tissues called calcifications may aggravate your condition. Causes of concern could be if the tumor pains, a family history of cancer or an event of a questionable biopsy report. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a gynaecologist.
