Once you reached your ideal body weight your body will try to maintain it, here you didn't mentioned your weight and height so I don't know you are in your ideal weight or not. Normally through exercise and proper food intake you can maintain your weight in a healthier way. First you have to make a proper plan for your normal day, like according to your convenience set proper timing for your food intake and exercise. Next plan is what you are going to eat and how you are going to do exercise, If there, for a time period avoid the intake of alcohol, soft drinks, deep fried items, sweets and pastries. At a time if you are taking more calories that will make you fat, eg: with lunch if you are taking soft drinks or juices or with break fast if you are taking tea or coffee, You can have that tea, coffee or juices in between your main meals like mid morning, evening. Maintain 2 to 2.5 hours gap between your each meals including your mid morning and evening snacks. With your each cereal intake include vegetables as a form of curry, subji, salad etc. With your diet don't stick with a particular vegetable and fruits, try to include all different colored vegetables and fruits. Include fruits in mid morning or evening. Do at least one hour exercise and first do cardio and then go with muscle strengthening exercises. Take at least 3 liter of water. Let me explain a widely discussed yet controversial topic behind losing weight i.e Dieting. It is a myth that weight loss is impossible without dieting. However, I disagree with that myth personally. You have to fulfill the basic caloric demand of your body to perform your daily activities. That means you have to eat as a normal person & also eat at a certain interval. In fact I have seen many people who take little amount food after fasting for 6-7 hours & they believe that they are Dieting. In fact keeping your stomach empty for a considerable long time will decrease the rate of metabolism & also increase the risk of gastric problems in an individual. Staying hungry for a considerable long time produces the release of Cortisol Hormone in the body. This Cortisol hormone is an emergency hormone & it identifies the absence of food as an emergency situation. Thus it lowers the rate of metabolism to stop the breakdown of fat in order to conserve the calories present inside the body. Moreover, when you stay hungry for a considerable long time your body starts to burn fat initially but after a certain stage it starts burning the muscle fibres thus resulting in muscle waste which leads to weakness & loss of stamina. If you want to lose weight quickly then along with increasing the rate of metabolism you should need to make some little changes in your food habit so that you can maintain the increased metabolic rate throughout the day. Just think of your body as a furnace & the fire as metabolism. If you add 10 kg of wood to the fire all of a sudden then the temperature of the fire will be increased suddenly but it would not last long. So inorder to maintain the temperature of the fire it would be wise to add 1 kg of wood after every interval of 1 hour. Same happens with our body. You need to provide food to your body at certain interval so that the rate of metabolism remains constant. I am giving a description of your food timings:- 1) Drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up from sleep 2) Take your breakfast within one hour of waking up 3) After 2 hours of breakfast take some midday snacks 4) Take your lunch within 2 hours after your midday snack 5) Take an evening snack after 2 hours of lunch 6) Take your dinner at least 2 hours before going to bed Throughout the day try to drink as much water as you can. It would be better if you can drink cold water. For a rough estimation try to drink a glass (300 ml) of water per hour.

The doctor says reduce the weight is quickly because it will allow the heart attack very easily. She has take diet also, she will take oat's continuously in breakfast. She can eat healthy food without starving. No fats or sugars , lots of salads minus salt , fresh fruits , a glass of toned milk & curd , an egg (if she can take ) Remember dieting after a certain age is difficult because one cannot exercise as much as a young lady , secondly digestion gets weak with time , bones hollow due to less calcium. Something advised for young may not work and be practical for her , but oats as you have mentioned she is taking are good for all age groups. She may not loose weight so quickly and it is not wise to wait for heart valve surgery ,it should be done at the earliest. simultaneosly make dieting a habit for her.

Why am I not losing weight? (weight loss tips inside)

Many of my clients when first consults with me, they ask this question' despite trying so many strategies, why I am not losing weight?

When I ask them about their efforts, they share:

  • I did the gm diet for a month
  • I took herbal life shake for three months
  • I went on fruits and liquid diet
  • I do gym every day!

Ok, wait! any sensible approach? this is usually my reaction to that.

'so did I do any wrong?' they ask me suspiciously.

Of course, by following above methods you are hampering your metabolism and pushing yourself to many essential nutrient deficiencies. Every second day I get cases of low iron, vitamin b12, calcium, low muscle mass and a high percentage of fat.

Do we have any way to lose weight and not feel tired and dull whole day?

Yes, there is.

Eating a healthy, balanced diet and eating a variety of food is the only way to get long lasting weight loss result. By eating right, you can improve your metabolism and nourish your body so that you don't fall for a metabolic disorder like diabetes, thyroid, PCOD, heart disease etc. I have helped hundreds of clients every month to give them a long lasting healthy weight loss.

Few tips to get you started on your weight loss journey:

  • Have filling breakfast which consists of cereal (complex carbohydrate), a protein source (egg/ beans/ milk and milk product) and vitamin and mineral source (fruit/ vegetables).
  • Have in between snacking of fruits and nuts.
  • Have plenty of seasonal fruits and vegetables.
  • Have good fats e. G. Almonds/ walnuts/ flax seeds/ avocado/ pumpkin seeds/ coconut etc.
  • Drink plenty of water and avoid empty calories (soft drinks).
  • Avoid bakery products.
  • Eat variety in terms of cereal, pulses, nuts, fruits and vegetables.
  • Include any form of physical activity for 45 mins per day.

You can follow some tips in daily routine. 1. After every meal, drink 1 cup boiling water with spoon sip by sip. After half an hour you have taken meal do this daily. 2. Try to avoid eating heavy food after 7 pm. As it takes time to digest heavy food. 3. Drink 1 glass water half an hour before meal. 4. Try to do some exercise. Yoga and meditation are very good in losing weight and maintaining it also. Yoga asanas you can do - manduk asana - sarwang asana - setubal asana - pawan mukht asana pranayama -anulom vilom -deep breathing - kapal bhati other exercises -crunches -cycling -leg rotation

Before doing surgery please follow this. Hi for reduced weight you should work out as per you consume calories and it will take time just continue work out. Take following remedies for loosing weight 1. Arogya vardhini vati 2 tab before lunch and dinner 2. Abhayarishta 4 tsp before lunch nad dinner 3. Morning break fast=mung dal green soup 1 boul and if feel hunger have pomegranate or apple 4. Lunch 2 chaati + fruit vegetable + if you like rice 1 bowl and dal + barley soup 5. Evening 4-5 pm have some milk with sunth or any fruit you like 6. Dinner barley soup 2 bowl and one fruit follow this diet you will get reduced weight.

Lunch ? Salad of raw vegetables such as carrot, beet, cucumber, cabbage, tomatoes. In case you do not digest raw vegetables, either steam or boil them. Whole grain bread or whole wheat chapattis (Indian recipe) and a glass of buttermilk. It will be good to add some roasted cumin seeds, green coriander leaves, a little salt and some grated ginger in the butter milk.For more details consult me privately.

Hi lybrate-user, good to know that you are not wanting to take pills for weight loss. A good diet and exercise will surely relieve you form the problem. Actually the weight you have mentioned does not show you to be overweight, but if you feel you need inch loss in the given areas or do not want a pear shaped body, you may start on suryanamaskar, yogasanas and some pilates or twists exercises. Cut down on high calorie intakes and have multiple meals with small portions of food through the day.

Hello, your weight is controlled by 4 major factors (1) refined sugar consumption (2) exercise and hydration (3) posture and sitting (4) how many times do you indulge yourself - alcohol, binge eating at parties, overeating etc. Step 01: refined sugar 1. Avoid all snacks and commercial products with sugar in them - biscuits, cakes, bournvita, horlicks, coke, pepsi, energy drinks, sweetened yogurt etc. 2. Cut down on your daily intake of tea/coffee and maintain it at 3-4 cups a day. 3. Try to add little sugar to any beverage (coffee, tea, milk, lemon water etc.) that you have and ideally you should refrain from adding any sugar altogether. Step 02: get exercise and proper hydration 1. Try to work out for 20 minutes each day. You do not necessarily have to go to the gym. You can incorporate some pretty powerful exercises in your daily routine like - squats, skipping, surya namaskar and core exercises. 2. Drink 8-10 glasses of water everyday but remember that tea/coffee are not substitutes for pure water. Step 03: improve posture and sitting habits if you have a sitting job then ensure that you do not sit for more than 30 minutes at one stretch. Get up and move a little after every 30 minutes. Step 04: stop indulging and eat more of raw natural stuff 1. Try to eliminate the urge to overeat but if you do overeat try to limit the incidents to two times per week. 2. Eat 6 small meals throughout the day 3. Eat 4 servings of fruits per day. 4. Each of your meal should contain 50% of raw vegetables. Once you incorporate the above points in your routine you will see a dramatic difference in your weight, physical shape and energy levels.

She needs to see a doctor and get a few blood tests done as there are many causes of weight gain. Overeating, lack of exercise, hormonal problems like thyroid disorder/ cushing's syndrome/ diabetes to name a few. So seeing a doctor for face to face consultation and actually checking her weight, height and blood pressure amongst other things is required.

what was your normal weight before getting infected? i.e. when you were absolutely normal. usually people suffering from tuberculosis lose weight during disease process which recovers with treatment gradually. the medicines of treating tuberculosis doesn't cause weight gain , as is falsely believed.
