Please do a thyroid function test before you are planning to conceive to check that you are taking the right dose of thyroxine. Also based on your height your bmi is 32. Ideally it should be less than 25 but more than 18. Therefore I would advice you to reduce atleat 7-8 kgs by a combination of diet and exercise before you plan for a pregnancy. High body weight can lead to problems like diabetes, pre-eclampsia and poor wound healing in pregnancy and also increases risks of clot forming in legs.

Sir, my wife is pregnant so sir how can I care of her and the nourishment of young one and mother.

Sir, my wife is pregnant so sir how can I care of her and the nourishment of young one and mother.
Hello. If she doesn’t have any medical condition and if her diet is poor to begin with, it is even more important to make sure she has a healthy diet now. She needs more vitamins and minerals, especially folic acid and iron. She needs a few more calories during her pregnancy as well. Getting her diet right for pregnancy is more about what she eats than about how much. Limit junk food, as it has lots of calories with few or no nutrients. Let her eat a variety of foods from these different food groups each day: Milk and dairy products: skimmed milk, yogurt/curd, buttermilk (chhaach), cottage cheese (paneer). They contain calcium. Cereals, whole grains, dals, pulses and nuts: these are good sources of protein if she does not eat meat. Vegetarians need about 45 grams of nuts and 2/3 of a cup of legumes for protein each day. Vegetables and fruits: these provide vitamins, minerals and fibre. Avoid Papaya. Meat, fish and poultry: these provide concentrated proteins. Fluids: Drink lots of fluids, especially water and fresh fruit juices. Make sure she drinks clean boiled or filtered water. Carry your own water when out of the house, or buy bottled water from a reputed brand. Avoid packaged juices as they have a very high sugar content. Fats and oils: Ghee, butter, coconut milk and oil are high in saturated fats, which are not very healthy. Hydrogenated vanaspati oil and ghee is high in trans fats, which are as bad for you as saturated fats. A better source of fat is vegetable oils because these contain more unsaturated fat. Dairy products, along with sea fish and sea salt or iodised salt are all good sources of iodine. she needs plenty of iodine in her diet to help your baby's development.

How to increase the fertility in women's. What are the tips. What should be daily routine for healthy body.

How to increase the fertility in women's. What are the tips. What should be daily routine for healthy body.
To get pregnant you need to have regular sex i. E. 3-4 times a week for one full year before you start seeking medical help. If you want to make her pregnant fast then you can follow this calender method. If a women’s menstrual cycle varies from 26days to 31days cycle, The shortest cycle (26 days) minus 18 days = 8th day. The longest cycle (31 days) minus 10 days=21st day Thus, 8th to 21st day of each cycle counting from first day of menstrual period is considered as fertile period.

What is fertilisation and where it takes place in the body of human female and what is formed by it?
Fertilisation is the meeting of egg and sperm and formation of embryo (early baby). It happens in one if the fallopian tube (tubes to carry the egg from ovary to uterus) and then embryo travels to uterus to get implanted and to grow into a baby.

For a while forget about regular periods during breast feeding. Take thyroid pills regularly and get thyroid profile checked every6 weeks. You can go for contraception with depo provera injection in lactation but regular periods will still not happen.

Don't get panic. It's not industry to have target and timeline. At 23 year age you can wait. Don't mix sex with reproduction as target. You will get frustrated. Enjoy your marriage life. After 6 moths if you don't get pregnancy visit gynaecologist.

Planning Your Pregnancy - Why Is It Important?

Planning Your Pregnancy - Why Is It Important?

Planning your pregnancy means thinking about what it means to have a baby and making decisions with your partner about the future of your family. Are you ready to be parents now? Or do you want to wait a while?
Certain tips you must follow before you try to get pregnant:

  1. Schedule a preconception visit: You don't have to have a doctor or midwife lined up to deliver your baby yet, but consult gynaecologist, midwife or family doctor now for a preconception checkup.Your practitioner will likely discuss diet, weight, exercise and any unhealthy habits you may have (such as smoking, drinking, and taking drugs); recommend a multivitamin; make sure you're up to date on your immunizations.
  2. Take folic acid (and watch out for vitamin A): You can buy folic acid supplements at the drugstore, or you can take a prenatal or regular multivitamin. Check the label on multivitamins to make sure they contain the 400 mcg of folic acid you need.
  3. Give up binge drinking, smoking, and drugs and get help if you need it: If you smoke or take drugs, now's the time to stop. Many studies have shown that smoking or taking drugs can lead to miscarriage, premature birth and low-birth-weight babies.
  4. Stock your fridge with healthy foods: You're not eating for two yet, but you should start making nutritious food choices now so your body will be stocked up with the nutrients you need for a healthy pregnancy.
  5. Check your caffeine intake: While there's no consensus on exactly how much caffeine is safe during pregnancy, experts agree that pregnant women and those trying to conceive should avoid consuming large amounts.
  6. Aim for a healthy weight: You may have an easier time conceiving if you're at a healthy weight. Having a low or high body mass index (BMI) makes it harder for some women to become pregnant.
  7. Create and follow an exercise program: Start and stick to a fitness plan now, and you'll be rewarded with a healthy body that's fit for pregnancy.

EDD by USG at this gestational age is not that reliable. It should be calculated by date of last menstrual period. Probably your doctor has done that. As she had surgery at early pregnancy, chances of prelabour rupture of membrane can be there. You should visit to doctor at given date. If she allows then can wait spontaneous onset of labour.

Causes and Symptoms of Blocked Fallopian Tubes

Certification in IVF & Infertility, Diplomate Gynae Laparoscopy, Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG), MD - Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MBBS

Causes and Symptoms of Blocked Fallopian Tubes

Blockage in the Fallopian tubes accounts for 40% of infertility in women, which is called Tubal Factor Infertility. Fallopian tubes are two thin tubes on each side of the uterus that aid the movement of mature eggs from the two ovaries to the uterus. Any kind of blockage in these tubes can prohibit the eggs from reaching the uterus and prevent pregnancy.

Symptoms

There are very few symptoms to detect blocked fallopian tubes. Some of the most common are :

  • A particular type of blocked fallopian tube is known as Hydrosalpinx, which causes pain in the lower abdominal or pelvic region with abnormal vaginal discharge
  • Painful periods can be a warning sign of blockage in the fallopian tubes
  • Painful intercourse is also a potent indicator
  • Spotting or heavy periods
  • Feelings of extreme tiredness
  • Pre-menstrual abdominal cramps

Once you know the symptoms, it is imperative to know the cause behind blocked fallopian tubes in order to get proper treatment.

Causes

  • Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is the most popular cause of blockage in the fallopian tubes. It can be sexually transmitted, but not all cases of PID are linked to STDs.
  • Prior abdominal surgery
  • Earlier ectopic pregnancy
  • Previous occurrence of ruptured appendix
  • Endometriosis
  • STD infections like gonorrhea and Chlamydia
  • Uterine infection due to abortion or miscarriage

There are precautionary measures that can be adopted to prevent blocked fallopian tubes, which can be opened with a laparoscopic surgery or a Hysteroscopic procedure. If you are diagnosed with PID, be sure to start your treatment as soon as possible. The most important advice is to look for symptoms of blockage and get professional help if you find any.

She had taken an abortion pill but her bleeding isn't stopping, it's been 13 days she had been bleeding, isn't an side affects of that medicine or normal situation?

Dear lybrate user, there are chances that she has partly aborted. Some portion may still be remaining in the uterus. Prolonged bleeding after taking abortion pill is not the side effect of medicine. Get ultrasound of the lower abdomen done to exclude incomplete abortion.
