What Makes Your Skin Prone to Acne?

Unhealthy eating habits, dust and pollution wreck a havoc to the skin and has become a major worry for many.

For many, skin problem is one of the most persistent problems and it is imperative to take care of skin to avoid skin disorders. Various factors, such as pollution, smoking, eating processed food and a sedentary lifestyle contribute to unhealthy skin.

Skin issues can be really stressful. But right skincare treatment can help in controlling a lot of problems. Just by sticking to 6 simple ways, you can keep your skin healthy:

  1. Sun protection: Constant exposure to sun rays can cause a host of skin problems, such as skin cancer, wrinkles and age spots. The main culprits are the ultraviolet rays of the sun, which can cause damage to the skin when it is exposed. Using sunscreen and protective clothing can help protect the skin against UV rays.

  2. Stress management: Stress can trigger the skin sensitivity, which causes it to be acne prone. Thus, managing stress is beneficial for maintaining a healthy skin.

  3. Smoking: Smoking narrows the blood vessels in the skin that deliver oxygen and nutrients. Hence, it should be avoided to limit these problems.

  4. Regular exercise and hydration: Regular cardio exercises, such as jogging and swimming, pump the blood that carry nutrients and oxygen to the skin. Exercise causes loss of water in the body, which needs to be replenished. Water keeps the skin healthy and prevents skin problems such as acne and dry skin.

  5. Collagen supplements: These collagen supplements, especially in peptide form, considerable reduces wrinkles and will keep your skin firm and resilient.

  6. Intake of antioxidants: Exposure to the sun, pollution and other environmental factors give rise to free radicals in the skin. These free radicals damage cells in the skin by oxidation. Foods rich in antioxidants are fruits and vegetables can limit the damage caused by free radicals.

Hello Dr. My mother is feeling slightly sagging in right breast. She didn't have a pain. She is saying that when she sits then the right breast touch her stomach makes discomfort. And the left breast is quite normal. She did mammogram test in January 2018 shown few microcalcification in a retroareolar region with BIRADS 3 in right breast. And even she did ultrasound breast show tiny calcif seen in retroareolar region. With no abnormality seen in rest of the reports. Her age is 43 with no cancer history. Please Dr. tell us it is a matter of concern of sagging right breast in a slight manner. She is feeling like this all of sudden from past 10 days. Please Dr. guide us and suggest some future test. Thank you.

It's better to see a breast surgeon or a surgical oncologist. They would examine her clinically and may ask for an ultrasound or a mammogram again to look for any change in the micro calcification. BIRADS 3 means suspicious lesion, but mostly benign. We recommend a core Biopsy to rule out the minor chance of insitu or invasive cancer, rather than observation. There are a variety of causes for breast pain ranging from intertrigo, which is fungal infection of skin fold under the breast, sebaceous cysts, Breast cysts, mastitis, abscess, traumatic fat necrosis, cyclical or non cyclical mastalgia, and rarely cancer, which need to be ruled out. If you want to discuss this further, feel free to contact me directly.

1. Use mild shampoo to wash hair (you can make your own shampoo using reetha and shikakai at home) 2. Stop using conditioners. Use natural conditioners like egg, yougurt and lemon. 3. Massage your scalp with a mix of oils like olive, coconut, sesame, castor oil at night. 4. Apply raw amla juice on hair thrice a week. 5. Rub your scalp with the juice of white onion. 6. Use a paste of bhringraj on hair. 7. You can use some good hair packs like - fenugreek and yogurt, egg and green tea. 8. You can rinse your hair with organic apple cider vinegar after washing your hair to maintain ph balance of your hair. 9. Hair health depends on the amount of protein in your diet. Foods like chicken, eggs, fish, nuts, dry fruits gives you the required nutrients to keep your skin and hair healthy. So consume plenty of them. Eat things rich in vitamin c like amla and oranges. 10. Drink lots of water to flush out toxins from the body.

Hello. The black tone and the dark lips occur due to various reasons, most of them which will be the regular habits, like drinking hot tea, going in sun without a protection and long exposure, dust etc. If you avoid those habits and give a proper treatment with skin lightening agent and sun protection, definitely you can have better skin tone and lips. You can text me directly so that we can know more about the reason for such occurence and treat accordingly.

Ideally in such conditions where there are no options in allopathy, Homoeopathy can have a very good result. Provided the medicine is selected not on name but considering the patient as a whole. So my advise is to consult. Still you may take homoeoapthic medicine Kali Carb 200 1 dose.

Hi, I suggest you go to a cosmetic dermatologist for a proper cleanup. Please stop the cream. A sunscreen is always advisable to prevent further damage to the skin. Alternatively you can use tomato paste on your face and neck for 20 minutes everyday.
