The only solution to remove glasses is surgery. You have high power so consult before to see whether you are fit for surgery also or not.

I am 22 years old. My question is how to save our eyes from the continuous use of laptop?

I am 22 years old. My question is how to save our eyes from the continuous use of laptop?
The solution for this problem is its reduced usage and while using computor use in proper light. There is nothing more effective than controlling usage to reduce and negate the effects. You can also reduce the intensity of the computor screen by attaching a filter or by getting an eye-friendly screen. Above all, .taking eye breaks for five minutes every hour can lessen the strain on your eyes. Simply closing your eyes for a few moments can also do wonders. Try standing up, moving around, or taking a short walk to help regain concentration.Regular eye exercises that involve focusing on different distances can help prevent future straining. Blink often. Blinking refreshes and replenishes your eyes naturally. If you are having trouble with blinking due to the dryness of your eyes, try using Homoeopathic CINELUBE EYEDROPS ( HAPDCO) 3 times daily. Homoeopathic medicine CINELUBE EYE DROPS ( HAPDCO) Pour 2 drops 3 times daily.

I have an eye sight of -1.5 on both eyes can I undergo an laser eye treatment to remove my sight.

Hello, Before undergoing surgery, take homoeopathic medicine which can help you to reduce your spectacles (varies from case to case). Include the following for getting better vision: Vitamins A, C, E, and minerals like copper and zinc are essential to eyesight. Get the antioxidants from dark leafy greens, egg yolks, yellow peppers, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Include garlic and onions. Blueberries, grapes as they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve your vision. DHA is a fatty acid found in coldwater fish like wild salmon, sardines and mackerel. Exercises for eyes: Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing rather reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

Myopia or Nearsightedness - How It Can Be Treated?

Myopia or Nearsightedness - How It Can Be Treated?

The most common vision problems are shortsightedness and farsightedness. Shortsightedness is when a person sees close objects clearly while distant objects appear blurry. It is more common than farsightedness and affects about 70% of the Asian population.

When there is a refractive issue, the prescription usually has a plus/minus with it and also a number. A ‘minus’ symbol is used to represent shortsightedness; the greater the number of the glasses, the higher the shortsightedness. High myopia is a more severe form of shortsightedness where the power is -6.0 or higher.

Symptoms:

As mentioned, the person will be able to see nearby objects but will have difficulty seeing far off objects.

  1. Difficulty reading signs and boards
  2. Squinting
  3. Straining to reduce the strain on the eye
  4. Tired and fatigue due to this eye strain, especially when in constant move like playing sports or travelling

How it happens?

Vision can be explained by a physical process where light passes through a lens and falls on the retina in the posterior portion of the eye where it forms an image. This is then sent to the brain where it is read and interpreted as a particular object. When the lens becomes elongated, the image that is formed is distorted in that it is formed in front of the retina and not on the retina. Though it gradually settles down with adulthood, in most cases, it progresses and requires corrective lenses. The corrective lenses ensure the image falls on the retina and visual perception is improved.

Treatment:

  1. Corrective glasses are the most commonly used measure for nearsightedness. The lenses could be used either as spectacles or as contact lenses.
  2. Laser surgery can also be used to correct the problem. A thin layer of the cornea is removed and the image formation is corrected.
  3. Artificial intraocular lenses are also being used to treat this condition. They work like contact lenses and may need periodic replacement.
  4. The most common technique, especially for high myopia is the use of surgery to correct the problem. This is a one-time correction and is a more durable solution than the earlier mentioned options.
  5. Appropriate calculations are done to identify the lens to be used so that proper vision is restored.

Complications:

  1. Though not common, retinal detachment and variable postoperative refractive error can occur during the surgery.
  2. It is very important to set realistic expectations with the patient in terms of what to expect before, during, and after surgery. If only one eye is going for repair, the chances of mismatch in vision could be present in the early stages. Being clear about what to expect will help in successful correction. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Ophthalmologist.

I have a pain in my eyes, I have number -1 in left eye? What can I do at home with home care products?

I have a pain in my eyes, I have number -1 in left eye? What can I do at home with home care products?
Hello. There is no medication or food for improving eye sight or to get rid of glasses. Get your vision tested and wear glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 24 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik. You can use lubricating eyedrops to get rid of that pain.

Even after lasik ,it is very easy to know for doctor whether you have gone for lasik or not. LASIK is refractive surgery to correct myopia ,hypermetropia & astigmatism, refractive surgery also include intraocular ocular lens procedure. For LASIK your eyes must be healthy, if you have persistent dry eyes, LASIK surgery may aggravate this condition resulting in burning sensation & blurring of vision after LASIK.   For LASIK cornea must  have sufficient thickness because in reshaping of cornea, you loose the thickness of cornea & if your cornea is too ,you are not  fit case for LASIK.  -1Dof myopic correction consumes  35 micron of corneal thicknes. Average thickness of cornea in Indian is 450 micron to 500 micron& after LASIK there  should be around 300 micron thickness of cornea for safety of eye in future. Pupils are usually large in myopic people who undergo LASIK  operation resulting in side effects such as halos, glares especially in those who drive in night. LASIK for the treatment of high retractive errors are less predictable, because very high amount of myopia could require removal of too much corneal tissue putting at increased risk of Vision complications. LASIK should not be undertaken before 21 years in male & 19 years in female because myopic power increases by that age. You must have stable power before LASIK. There is no upper age limit but one should keep in mind that once you are 40 years old, you may still need reading  glass due to presbyopia changing every two years till you develop cataract in old age. Contraindications for LASIK -degenerative disease, Sjogren syndrome, type one diabetes etc. People who are taking immunosuppressive drugs, must think ten times before undergoing for LASIK surgery. One must go LASIK screening before taking decision for LASIK. One undergoes for LASIK should be fully aware of  potential LASIK complications & should not hide anything from operating surgeon about health.
