Your high bp and kidney disease is interrelated. The swelling of the leg nsy be due to gravitational eadema of leg for prolonged position of legs or could be duebto medicine which by or are taking for your blood pressure. So best thing would be to consult your treating physician. Do not self medicate.

My mom is 45 years old she is suffering from pain and kind of vibration (sensation) in his leg and back. What should we do and is yoga can help in it?

Dear Lybrate user. Such kind of symptoms is very much common in perimenopausal age group (around the age of 45) due to hormonal deficiency. Give her calcium supplementation 500 mg twice daily after food. Ask her not to take painkiller tablets more and more i.e. For weeks and months. Use only in case of severe pain, headache, fever with medical prescription. Ask her to take calcium rich food like milk, butter, fishes. Yoga and physiotherapy can help her a lot and prevent future osteoarthritic changes and myalgia (muscle pain).

I am a 22 yr old female. I had an accident 3 years back injuring my vertebra. Implants were put in and were removed after 1 year. Now I have continuous back pain and recently I have developed severe neck pain. Since two weeks am suffering from severe neck pain with back pain. I wanaa know if this is anyway related to the accident. I find difficulty in moving my head forward and backward. Sometimes head ache comes with the neck pain.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. Your neck pain should not be related to your back pain because your back injury occurred 3 years back and at that time you have not mentioned any neck pain. But since your neck pain is only 2 weeks old, I advise you to take: 1) precautions while sleeping and working 2) adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation as per requirement 3) a short course of anti-inflammatory medication 4) physical therapy with morning walks for your back and neck, initially under supervision of a trained physical therapist. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Thanks & regards Dr Akshay Kumar Saxena

Hi this is not normal. First we have to rule out infection as you have a history of same. If it is not infective than start ice therapy alonge with frequent change of posture while sitting. Also use a soft cushion. Avoid longe sitting on hard surface. Do squeezing exercises for perineal area & buttucks. Try to sit on hips & cross your legs frequently to change weight.

What are simple knee exercise for making knee straight ? and also for increasing knee muscles strength.

What are simple knee exercise for making knee straight ? and also for increasing knee muscles strength.
Static quadriceps and dynamic quadriceps, isometric quadriceps, all these are good exercise for strengthening of knee joint ,You can refer internet to know how these exercise are done, like static quadriceps is done by keeping a towel roll below your knee joint while sitting on a bed and then pressing the towel roll by your knee joint ,holding it for 10 secs and then release, do it for 10 times from each knee. If pain is more in your knee joint then first go to some nearby physio they will give you pain relief therapy and will teach you all exercises as well. Thanks all the best.

Joint pain can be chronic disease like Rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis. Better consult and take proper treatment. If you want direct treatment then any medical.store person will give pain killers. But be aware that it can cause very bad effects..

It could be plantar fascitis. Go to a orthopaedic surgeon and get and x-ray done for heel spur. You should start wearing silicone heel pads in your shoes. Physical therapy can cure plantar fascitis. These days orthopaedic surgeons are also giving plasma injections to cure this disease. But 1st we need to make a diagnosis.

I wanted to know does using treadmill regularly will effect knee joints. For a work out of 10 to 15 min.

General Physician, Fatehabad
I wanted to know does using treadmill regularly will effect knee joints. For a work out of 10 to 15 min.
Hi lybrate-user, The treadmill is still one of the more popular pieces of exercise equipment, but while it has some appealing characteristics, it's important to realize that you may be forgoing many important health benefits of exercise if all you're doing is walking or jogging on a treadmill. Yes, repetitive exercise at a sharp incline, such as hill running, can result in patellofemoral stress syndrome -- a painful condition you might refer to as runner's knee. Sharp incline running allows less movement in your ankle joints, meaning your knees have to pick up the slack and take on added impact. As these things go, less movement usually translates to less comfort. Suggestion: If you're not totally scared away by the idea of impact damage and joint stress, and plan to use a treadmill regularly anyway, remember that moderation can be your best friend; don't increase the incline unless you feel comfortable. If it feels wrong, it's probably doing more harm than good. If you experience sharp pains in your knees, stop the exercise, then rest and ice the affected areas. Alternative exercises such as cycling, swimming and elliptical trainers have similar health benefits to running, and they tend to be easier on the joints. Hope this is useful. Good Luck.
