Dear, there is nothing to worry at the moment. Minor change in bcr_abl does occur. By continuing the same medicine it should come to normal. I feel that the dose of medicine you are taking is on lower side. You can seek the advice from your treating doctor to increase it to 200 mg. Daily.

Gastric Cancer: Causes and Symptoms

Cancer is one of the most fatal diseases in the world. Stomach cancer is also known as 'Gastric cancer'. Like other diseases, it is crucial that it gets identified in the early stages and gets treated before it reaches the incurable stage. Like other forms of cancer, the exact cause of stomach cancer is still not yet known. However, certain things make stomach cancer more likely to happen.

The possible causes of stomach cancer are given below:

Some of these causes apply to nearly all forms of cancer. However, some of them only apply to stomach cancer.

  1. Smoking
  2. Obesity
  3. Bad diet
  4. Stomach surgery for an ulcer
  5. Type-A blood
  6. Epstein-Barr virus infection
  7. Genetics
  8. Asbestos

  11. Gastritis
  12. Anemia
  13. Polyps

Some of the symptoms of stomach cancer are:

Stomach cancer like all other forms of cancer has various stages and it is crucial that it is diagnosed in the early stages so that the progression of it is stymied. At first, the symptoms of stomach cancer include indigestion, loss of appetite, slight nausea, heartburn and the feeling of being bloated after a meal.

However, indigestion and heartburn, doesn't always mean that you have stomach cancer, but if these conditions persist, you should visit a doctor to rule out the possibility of stomach cancer.

The growth of the tumor in your stomach can lead to various serious symptoms too, such as:

  1. Stomach pain
  2. Heartburn
  3. Blood in your stool
  4. Weakness or exhaustion
  5. Vomiting
  6. Diarrhea and constipation
  7. Weight loss for no apparent reason
  8. Swelling in your stomach
  9. Trouble in swallowing
  10. Eyes and skin turn yellowish

If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Gastroenterologist.

Hi lybrate-user, I appreciagte you seeking help. First and foremost, I would advise that you stay cool and not be overly anxious. Gynecomastia does not mean breast cancer. It is a benign enlargement of the breast tissue triggered mostly by hormonal imbalance, the exact underlying cause of which needs to be ascertained. You should visit an endocrinologist and get this clinically examined in person. Hope this helps. Do take care and all the very best. Sincerely.

Is CEF is right chemo treatment nat ER +/PR + and Her 2- I am 41, unmarried, premenausal female. Diagnosed with Invasive breast cancer (lump on the right chest wall-upper inner quadrant high up) lymph node and axillary node positive. Type: ER +, PR+,her 2 -.Size of the tumor is 2.7 cm.and they say its a LABC (locally advanced breast cancer) .Started with NACT (CEF every 3 weekly). Done with the first chemo 15 days back with CEF (cyclophosphamide-750, epirubicin,-120 fluorouracil-750 mg. I am really confused as I don't see much data on hormone positive and Her 2 - patients given this CEF chemo (either adjuvant or neoadjuvant). My fellow patient (of similar types) from other hospitals are given AC/T. Also I met one of senior oncologist who suggested to shift from chemotherapy and instead start Neoadjuvant Endocrine Therapy (tamoxifen 20 mg for next 3 months). Would really appreciate if you share your expert opinion the right treatment path for my case.

MBBS, MS - General Surgery, FBD (Fellowship in Breast Diseases), UICC Fellowship
Oncologist, Pune
Hello Lybrate user! LABC means locally advanced breast cancer- decided not only with tumor size but also changes of breast skin, involvement of lymph nodes, and inflammatory changes. 3 cycles of FEC/ CEF or 4AC as neoadjuvant (chemotherapy before surgery) chemotherapy is good to give to reduce size of tumor and control local decease and also in cases of breast conservation surgeries. After surgery they might start TC as adjuvant chemotherapy (chemotherapy after surgery. So it is one of the treatment. Once neoadjuvant and adjuvant chemo will finish you have to take hormonal therapy.
