I have sinusitis problem like alternative days I have cold, facing since last 2 years. How to cure it?

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
There are several things you can do to prevent a cold. they are all easy. -Always wash your hands after coughing or sneezing into your hands, blowing your nose, after touching someone who is sick, or when using public restrooms or telephones. -Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough. -Get plenty of rest/sleep.staying at home will keep you from spreading germs.Avoid people who have a cold or cold symptoms. -Drink plenty of fluids(veg/tomato soups, dal water/coconut water/herbal tea etc), and eat nutritious food(like sprouts/boiled eggs without yolk with milk). Avoid foods or drinks with caffeine which can impair your sleep -Treatment:A cold usually lasts for a week or two. Unless you develop complications, you shouldn't need medical treatment. -Complications like infections of the ears, throat, sinuses or lungs must be treated with antibiotics. -Gargle to keep from getting a sore throat. -Use saline nasal sprays or nasal irrigation. -Tablet nasorest-p once/twice daily may ease breathing. -Do steam inhalation once or twice daily -Cough- For dry cough.Take syrup Alex-D for a dry cough.(1 tsp thrice daily) -Productive cough:it brings up mucus from behind the throat or the lungs. These coughs should not be suppressed to the point that they no longer bring up mucus. Use syrup Alex. -Get chest xray done if cough lasts for more than a week and consult doctor immediately.

Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist,
Yes it is done in india at may centers. Cost depend upon city, hospital. It is a costly surgery. For sinus and nose problems, try taking steam inhalation for 3 times a day. If problem is not solved in 2-3 days, you may need additional medicines.

Sir I am diabetic and 35 years old. My nasal drainage for fungal culture shows aspergillus species. I have took medicine voraze 200 8 tablet and now I am taking several 200 twice daily for six days that is ketoconazole. Now I am having fever 99.9 and I want to know my infection is aspergillosis or something else. I have also done nose endoscopy and it shows aspergillosis in pns. But I am not getting well. What will be the reason.

Pulmonologist, Faridabad
As you are diabetic you are immunocompromised and liable to fungal infection. First should have very good diabetic control otherwise all antifungal treatment can fail. As your endoscopy nasal also confirmed aspergillus, besides culture, then is likly to be fungal infection as aspergillus. Can be specific IGG and IGE to aspergillus can be done to confirm. Will need long antifungal therapy even upto 6 months to control infection. Afever of 99.9 can be due to fungal infection.

But now also the infection has not gone. Will it go after some days automatically? Or should I do something for this? I am so thankful to the doctor who will help me.

Hello acupat is basically an antiallergic. To best of my knowledge it has no bad effect on sinus. Regarding allergy. You should avoid rubbing eyes. Do cold compresses and keep using acupat twice daily.

I have suffering with sinus from 2 years and I already consulted a doctor they said about some operation. Is there any other option with out an operation.

Homeopath, Faridabad
Sinusitis is an inflammation, or swelling, of the tissue lining the sinuses. Normally, sinuses are filled with air, but when sinuses become blocked and filled with fluid, germs (bacteria, viruses, and fungi) can grow and cause an infection.Conditions that can cause sinus blockage include the common cold, allergic rhinitis, nasal polyps or a deviated septum. Chronic sinusitis is a condition characterized by sinus inflammation symptoms lasting 8 weeks or longer. May be you are suffering from nasal polyps or DNS. please mention your symptoms so that treatment can be prescribed.

Noise-induced hearing loss (nihl) is hearing impairment resulting from exposure to high decibel (loud) sound that may exhibit as loss of a narrow range of frequencies, impaired cognitive perception of sound or other impairment, including hyperacusis or tinnitus.[1] hearing may deteriorate gradually from chronic and repeated noise exposure, such as loud music or background noise, or suddenly, from an acute, high intensity noise incident including gunshots and airhorns.[1] in both types, loud sound overstimulates delicate hearing cells, leading to the permanent injury or death of the cells. Once lost, hearing cannot be restored in humans. There are a variety of prevention and mitigation strategies available to avoid or reduce hearing loss. If not prevented, hearing loss can be managed through assistive devices and cognitive therapies.

Prevention is the single defense against noise induced hearing loss. The best, first option for protecting hearing is lowering the volume of sound at its source. Secondly, limiting the time of exposure to loud noise can reduce injury. Finally, physical protection from the noise can reduce its impact. Government regulations are designed to limit occupational exposure to dangerously loud noise. The largest burden of nihl, has been through occupational exposures; however, noise-induced hearing loss can also be due to unsafe recreational, residential, social, and military service-related noise exposures.[2] it is estimated that 15% of young people are exposed to sufficient leisure noises (i. E. Concerts, sporting events, daily activities, personal listening devices, etc.) to cause nihl.[3] there is not a limited list of noise sources that can cause hearing loss. Rather, it is important to understand that excessive decibel levels of any source over time can cause hearing loss.

My daughter ageing 5 years have a problem in her left ear. Doctors day its due to tonsil. Is there any remady for this?

Usually its manageable with a course of antibiotic if required. In case it does not resolve with that, you may need to opt for surgical intervention. The decision about that can best be taken in consultation with an ENT specialist.
